Le Chop House propose le meilleur de la viande bovine britannique, dépecée et vieillie à sec sur place et cuite sur la flamme nue d'un gril à charbon. Ce restaurant est un mélange novateur d'un steakhouse classique britannique et d'un bar à cocktails. Il vous est présenté par l'équipe du Monteiths Restaurant, du Sygn Bar et du WestRoom. La traçabilité est au centre des préoccupations culinaires du Chop House et sa cuisine n'utilise que le meilleur bœuf provenant de producteurs artisanaux de toute l'Écosse. La viande est dépecée sur place et vieillie à sec pendant 90 jours afin de lui ajouter de la saveur et d'augmenter sa tendreté. Le bœuf est par la suite cuit sur la flamme nue d'un gril à charbon, spécialement conçu pour donner une saveur subtile de fumée. Cette fantastique cuisine s'agrémente d'une carte des vins du monde entier et d'une sélection de cocktails exceptionnels. Le Chop House est ouvert du lundi au vendredi pour le dîner et le souper, le samedi et le dimanche pour le déjeuner de fin de semaine, le brunch, le dîner et le rôti du dimanche!

Excellent experience at Chop House, we had the porterhouse surf n turf, everything cooked to perfection, chicken wings and tempura prawn started were delicious as were our sides. Service was impeccable

Our booking was cancelled one hour before our reservation. I called to query and apparently someone with the same first name as me cancelled their table - they restaurant cancelled my table instead of the callers. The restaurant sorted the mistake so we still managed to eat. When our steaks arrived, the order was wrong. Both steaks were then taken back to the kitchen while they corrected the order. When my fillet steak came back out it was not rare as I had ordered, it was now medium - however I was so hungry by this point I ate it. The waiter offered a free drink, however for the price of the food and the restaurants reputation for being good, we felt pretty let down. The tables are also VERY close together. I had to move out of the way to let other diners go to the bathroom. Due to being so close to other people, we could hear the couple at the table next to us returning their steaks too as they were not cooked as they had asked. The meal was booked for a special occasion, we left the restaurant disappointed and will not return.

Lovely restaurant, steaks cooked to perfection. Size of sides were a little bit small. Service was quick and with a smile. Looked to be children friendly which is nice to see.

First off, I didn't want to go here. However, I am so glad I did. The food - my God, the food - is amazing. My Family and I can't remember the last time we enjoyed a meal, and were remarkably silent whilst concentrating on our food. Warm, efficient, friendly and helpful service, great ambience (you are in a railway arch) and great value. Totally memorable. Go here. Do it.

Restaurant was nice. Food was cold and overpriced. Plates smelled like sour milk. Allergy menu was difficult to read/understand and didn’t show any prices. Staff were friendly.

Food was delicious (steak and frites offer) Had to change booking to later time as we were held up and were so accommodating. Advised that we had Theatre to attend and service was super quick. Staff very friendly and attentive. Overall a lovey dining experience.

We never dined - the table was booked for dining at the bar. That wasn't entirely clear from the booking but also really unacceptable to offer a table at a bar for a restaurant with presumed high standard and prices. And I don't mean sitting at a table in a bar, I mean sitting at a bar, on a bar stool, with limited space, very uncomfortable, right at the entrance.. Really disappointed about this and very embarrassed as this was supposed to be a bday treat for my partner. Never again. Horrific experience, being left high and dry on Saturday night with no alternative. Was not prepared to spend 200£ on meal sitting half hanging on a bar stool at the entrance, what a ridiculous proposition. I'd highly advise the Chop House not to offer such arrangements. Its an embarrassing way to treat your customers.

We were recommended to visit chophouse by a friend and it did not disappoint! Cocktails were amazing, between 4 of us we had two sharer Chateaubriand with chips and salad. It was cooked perfectly, and the sauces were excellent. One of our party also had lobster and it was delicious. Sadly no room for dessert. The staff were also very attentive and friendly, the atmosphere was very relaxed, and a wonderful touch was the bartender pre-empting our booking as we walked in. Thank you so much for making our evening so special, as part of our trip to Edinburgh!

Qualità della carne ottima! Buoni anche i contorni. Ambiente tranquillo e piacevole. La ragazza che ci ha servito era sorridente, gentile e ci ha illustrato i piatti che abbiamo ordinato alla perfezione. Consigliatissimo!

Food was outstanding, unfortunately the service wasn’t as good. Bit of a wait between starter and main and had to order the same drinks twice when the first order didn’t arrive. These things can happen though so would highly recommend for the food.

Food was amazing! So was the service from the staff. Only complaint that I have, is the put a table of at least 20 guys(stag-do) who where very loud and some questionable language coming from from that table. Just felt the staff could have asked them to kept it down in a bit. In such a small restaurant and respect the other dinners. Apart from that, really good food

When you offer well aged meat and are able to ruin it , it is a feat on its own... Charred sirloin where you need to cut away parts of completely blackened meat, making it overpriced for what is offered. Besides the food, the music was loud and the choice of music was...debatable, creating a weird ambiance. I guess if it's because they offer large pieces of meat that attracts customers, but it was the worst dinner we had during our stay in Edinburgh.

Fabulous place to eat. We’ve been trying to get back since our wedding in 2021 and finally made it this week. Definitely not disappointed and would highly recommend.

Website does say that the porter house deal was on Monday-Wednesday at market st but server was adamant it was only Wednesday. Not the end of the world because the food we did have was delicious. Peppercorn sauce was very thin if anything, but was tasty all the same. Got a glass of fizz as it was my partner’s bday so that’s always a bonus. Would certainly visit again if I was in Edinburgh, but check your advertising

Average. Had just as good steaks for less that came with fries etc and didn't have to be ordered separately. They were out of lobster by 5pm. The mussels were nice but a lot of shells empty. They did give us another bowl as another table commented on amount of empty shells. Staff were friendly. Restaurant could have been a bit warmer. It was nowhere near as outstanding as I thought it was going to be, especially for the price.

We were lucky and managed to get a booking for the same week. We had expected it to be booked out for Valentines day but were pleasantly surprised to find it not too busy or noisy. I had asked for a table with leg room as our party of 4 were all tall and we were seated in a booth downstairs which was great. The prices here reflect the high quality of the food, the portion sizes were good too. Our server was the perfect level of attentiveness. Would eat here again.
