Best of British beef, butchered & dry-aged in house and cooked over a charcoal grill. Chop House is an innovative blend of classic British steakhouse and cocktail bar brought to you by the team behind Monteiths & the White Horse Oyster Bar. Provenance is at the centre of the Chop House offer and we use only the finest beef sourced from artisan suppliers across Scotland.
The meat is dry aged for up to 90 days to add flavour and increase tenderness then the beef cooked on a charcoal grill, specially designed to give a subtle smoky flavour. Our fantastic food offering is matched by an extensive wine list from around the world and exceptional cocktail list. Open Mon - Fri for dinner, Sat & Sun for lunch, dinner and Sunday roast! We have another Chop House in Leith & Chop House Market Street.

                                                                            Lovely atmosphere, great playlist (at a good volume) and most of all the food was fantastic, according to my young son, the muscles were "Amazing, the best I've had" (and he's had ALOT!) The steak was of course also outstanding. Would highly recommend.

                                                                            Party of four, two had steak frites, one ribeye, sides and puddings. The server was excellent, the food fantastic. The steak frites is great value for money, so tasty. Will definitely be back.

                                                                            Took a while to get served, wasn’t overly busy. Mac and cheese was so dry and just don’t feel the food was worth the prices given.

                                                                            Another great meal at Chop House Bruntsfield. The care and attention put into the food and the service really shows, we felt well taken care of and the food was delicious. The complementary glass of wine for my birthday was the icing on the cake for a lovely meal.

                                                                            Delicious well cooked steaks with very good range of sides. Being a small person with two replacement knees, clambering up onto the too high bench seats was a challenge (my son helped me). Comfortable once perched. Staff were friendly and helpful but service was really quite slow and one member of staff forgetful. Atmosphere pleasantly quiet - no background music interfering with conversation. Would recommend to able bodied friends, though disabled toilets were available on entrance level.

                                                                            Food was lovely only negative comment I can give on the food is our side came with very watery chilli instead of a sauce!! Our table was very small and didn’t like sitting on a tool Service was excellent! Our porterhouse steak was beautiful cooked to perfection. I would happily return but for a proper table and chair.

                                                                            Food was inedible. Even staff tried the steak and agreed they couldn’t eat it. Took 1 hour and 40 minutes for any food to arrive. Will not be back.

                                                                            Our waitress Rachel was kind and helpful. We had a great time with a bit of banter to make the experience as good as the food. Honestly our main reason for visiting Edinburgh. Probably the best meal we’ve had outside of London.
