Le meilleur de la viande bovine britannique vieillie à sec et cuite directement sur la flamme d'un grill au charbon. The Chop House Leith est le mélange novateur d'un steakhouse britannique classique et d'un bar à cocktail situé sur Constitution Street. Le Chop House est un ajout intéressant à la scène culinaire animée de la Côte, et vous est présenté par l'équipe derrière Monteiths Restaurant, Sygn Bar et The WestRoom. Provenance est situé au centre du Chop House et le restaurant utilise le meilleur bœuf provenant de fournisseurs artisanaux à travers l'Écosse. La viande est dépecée sur place et vieillie à sec pendant jusqu'à 90 jours pour ajouter de la saveur et augmenter la tendreté. Il y a seulement le bœuf qui est cuit sur la flamme d'un gril au charbon, spécialement conçu pour donner une saveur subtile de fumée. Leur menu se conjugue avec une liste de vins provenant du monde entier ainsi qu'avec une liste de cocktails exceptionnels. Ouvert du lundi au vendredi pour le dîner et le souper, samedi et dimanche pour le déjeuner du week-end, le brunch, le dîner et le rôti du dimanche!

The restaurant was very cold. We asked for medium to rare steaks the bloods was running out two of the steaks they were tasty but felt they could have been done slightly longer. One steak was asked for rare to medium it was better cooked than others wondered if they got the orders the wrong way round. With hindsight we should have asked for them to be taken back and cooked a little more, but the waitress seemed very busy. The waitress was very good.

Great fillet steak, perfectly cooked over coals. Partner had Sunday beef dinner and loved it too.

What a place! We had a lovely welcome from the moment we stepped in the door. Warm and friendly and wasted no time getting us settled with a drink and the menu. The food was perfect and came without a long wait. I opted for three salads with my steak which was done to perfection. Husband tucked in equally enthusiastically. I chose a bone marrow gravy with my steak which was so delicious it will ruin me for any other steak sauce. Service throughout was faultless. 10/10.

We waited over an hour for our daughters hamburger meal and our sides came out with it. But, our steaks didn't come out for an additional twenty minutes. The staff were apologetic for the delay and brought out duplicate sides. However, by that time we were past eating and our daughter who was exceptionally well behaved was done. We had to ask for crayons for her to colour in the menu supplied. They also brought me the wrong drink the second order which was the same as the initial drink order. We were not offered any compensation for the significant delay in our food. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy to explain the delay either.

When we eventually got our food (after waiting over an hour and querying the length of time), the food was good. However the service was terrible and the sole reason for this poor rating. The manager actually blamed us for the delay as one of us had ordered a steak 'medium-well' which apparently takes 45 minutes to cook?! As a cook myself, I know this not to be the case however had we been informed of the expected time at the point of ordering we would have ordered starters. As it was, we finished our drinks before our food had even arrived. The staff had the opportunity to easily turn this experience around. Had we been offered a simple apology, or a complimentary side dish/ drink- we would have left feeling quite differently about the whole experience. Being blamed and then blatantly ignored for the remainder of our meal was terrible. We paid our bill (almost £300) and will not be returning.

Amazing meat, but were kinda suggested that we need to look at the time as "the next booking is here in an hour" and our table was right next to the door. But Porterhouse was incredible and house Malbek was superb!

Had Sunday lunch, food was ok, vegetables were a little ‘Smokey’, service was good, was told if we needed extra gravy that would not be a problem, bill came and a £5 charge was added to the bill for extra gravy, that was really really disappointing.

Nice atmosphere and good service but quality of our steaks wasn't quite up to standard. They were over cooked. They did at least offer to take them back to the kitchen but once you have started eating, a break while new steaks are cooked is just hassle. Overall, reasonably priced and 'sides' were ok.

We went for their steak frites offer for a late lunch on a Saturday in January. This is actually good value for money but I found the meat had too much salt on it. At no point did the waiting staff check if everything was okay - they did at the next table where 5 people were having lunch. Only when we paid did they ask. Also, one of the servers kept calling patrons "lovelies", "my lovely" and "darling(s)". Yikes! Though we would like to try their porthouse seat for two offer I'm not sure we'll be back.

1st time going. Booked for a 30th and what an experience it was. Staff were lovely and accommodating. The food was out of this world. If you are a meat eater this is definitely the place to go. It was a very relaxing atmosphere will definitely be going back.

Possibly more salt and pepper available on tables! Staff shouldn't have to swoop to different tables to simply place salt where its wanted. Service was exemplary. Staff extremely able and food was very Tasty. Most expensive food bill I've had , but was content because of the Service and lovely food.

Service was great albeit stretched due to staffing. Food was cold, think the plating up could have been the issue as one item was piping with the rest being not so. 20% discount applied to food bill without request 👌 In my humble opinion they should consider their cutlery, definitely not ergonomic 🤔and therefore a bit fiddly.

Cecilia was our waitress and was superb. A great steak with delicious trimmings. A really nice experience. Would definitely recommend.

Quite disappointing for the price point. Good meat slightly overcooked to order, and everything far too-heavily salted. Serving staff were lovely but the service was slightly patchy - we were asked the same thing a number of times by different staff members which was slightly wearing.

One of steaks was requested med/rare, had to send back as was more medium and second attempt was more blue .. not too impressed given its a steak restaurant. However the sirloin med to well was perfect Service was very slow but only seemed to be 2 people on. Red wine we ordered was very cold and had to warm.up ourselves at table Despite those issues the starter and sides were all very good.

Overall the experience was super, with a fun atmospheric location and perfect steaks. Surprised there were no chops- other than the Tomahawk, and a little disappointed the maitre d knocked half a glass of wine over table, seat and frock. Certainly a place to return to. Lovely.
