Eight Tables provides a modern creative approach to traditional Chinese cuisine. We promote using local, natural, and seasonal produce as a basis for new dishes. Offering new ingredients in combination with traditional Chinese foods prepared in new ways. Chef Floyd Nunn puts an emphasis on purity, simplicity, and freshness as well as increased use of California Coastal ingredients.

Beautiful restaurant with thoughtful staff but the food certainly does not justify the price. A great concept but everything we had was extremely sour.

There’s a reason why i booked this place twice during restaurant week. It’s AMAZING. All the servers are so attentive and the food is delicious. Everything is perfectly balanced (not too salty) and seasoned to perfection.

We arrived on time for our 9 pm reservation and was finally seated at 9:45 pm after many follow ups. We sat for another 10 min before someone came to greet us, by now almost 10 pm and I was starving. There were at least 6 different staff walking pass us so not short staffed. Food was top quality and innovative but very small portion. We spent over 400 and still wanted to go some place else to eat after. The entry was hidden and interesting to follow instructions sent by staff how to get there.

I have really enjoyed Eight Tables each time I have eaten here. The tasting menu is excellent. While many items I have not eaten before, I have never been disappointed with the flavors. The service is impeccable.

Apparently the only available option on OpenTable is the $150 five course option, but it was still delicious and filling. This was our third visit to the restaurant over the past four years and we were invited to sit at a table in the kitchen for two courses, which was a surprise and very special for my wife and I celebrating our first anniversary. As has been the case in each of our previous visits, the staff were friendly and attentive and the food creative and tasty.

So we made our reservations before the format changed from 8 courses to just 5. We expected 8 tables, 8 courses. I think they adjusted the price (but will need to double check my bill as it seemed exorbitant!). We arrived and the host was a little off-putting. He looked at us, didn't initially find our reservation, and asked if we were in the right place. "Are you sure you are supposed to be here and not China Live?" I was sure and we were eventually led to a large round table in a corner (we were three - and out table could have easily sat 8 -10). While we had plenty of room - it also made dining feel uncomfortable and even more formal than expected. Meal was fine - portions large and food delicious and interesting. But for the money - experience was not fun or joyful. Felt forced and formal - likely the extra large table and slight attitude of staff. Will have to try again and hope for a better vibe.

Impeccable service as always. New 5-course menu is more focused and enjoyable than the previous 8-course version. This should not be considered classic Chinese cuisine, however. Mr. Chen is doing his own thing while drawing heavily on Taiwanese influences (much of what is offered for sale at China Live is from Taiwan, so the quality is much higher than products from China).
