Everything good, not bad, not great. Felt the food was on the oily side but the meat was tasty. The vegetable fried rice had basically zero vegetables I’ve had much better. Service on the slow side and it wasn’t that busy. Enjoyed the ambiance on the patio. Our server was fair-good, not very kind or helpful with the menu. Basically just there and did the job. Overall I’d rate the dining experience a “B” to “B-“. They have room to improve.

While the service from Angel was really good, at the end of the service he asked if we wanted free dessert and we thought it was a courtesy but after accepting, he said we first needed to provide a review on yelp and show it to him in order to access the dessert. I didn't mind at first, though it felt a bit cohersive. We had technical issues with yelp, could not submit the review, so he took the dessert with him. I couldn't care less for the dessert, but I didn't feel comfortable with the whole situation and I don't feel like I want to go back there again

We went to Chin Chin Hollywood on May 10, 2024. We made a reservation which was waiting for us. We started with edamame and pot stickers, which were both very good. Our waitress was great the whole time. The problem came with our main meals. I had cashew chicken. My friend had Pad Thai. My meal was tasteless, in a broth, and was unappetizing. Historically I never complain about food at restaurants, but I just couldn't eat this meal. I mentioned it when a manager came around to ask how everything was. I felt badly telling him I didn't like the food. He was nice enough to remove it from my bill. My friend didn't enjoy her pad thai because everything was shredded and unlike any pad thai had ever had. But she didn't complain and ate some of it. The restaurant itself was very nice and the staff were great. Maybe next time I try the Chinese Chopped Salad.

I’ve been dining at Chin Chin on Sunset since it opened in 1983. It’s a great place to people watch and have a great meal. True to form the Chinese Chicken Salad was perfectly prepared and as delicious as ever. The steamed and salted edamame were fresh and flavorful. Service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant decor is tired and worn. The upholstery on the banquette and booths was torn and frayed. The colors and fixtures are drab and dated, giving a very sad feeling to the once iconic Chin Chon.

Second time to Chin Chin. My husband and I had the same meal as last time but unfortunately the same food was TOTALLY not as good. Like night and day. I didn't finish my meal and neither did my husband. Too bad. If the food is not consistent, then that is not a good sign for us. Will probably not return.
