We arrived for our reservation but they filled up the patio with walk-ins before seating us. The only seating option then available was the upstairs patio. It was busy downstairs but we rarely saw wait staff venture upstairs. Drinks took a really long time and no napkins or utensils were provided despite several requests. The food finally arrived very cold and soggy. It had obviously been sitting for quite a while. One person received their food after everyone else had finished. One person was told that they could send back the cold, soggy food but it "probably wouldn't be any better next time". One person left hungry after eating only chips and salsa. I really wanted to love this Chevy's on the river but the food and service was very poor.

Greeting staff preoccupied. Wait staff one brought one order, not the two we ordered. Beer was not full cause changing keg. On the river was nice. Staff seemed distracted.

We've always loved coming to Chevy's, so this was a surprise. Everything was as expected, except some of the food. My food was good and I didn't eat any chips, so I wasn't aware of these problems until we left the restaurant. The chips were broken into such small pieces that you really couldn't dip the chip in the salsa or guacamole. My friend ordered steak fajitas. He should have sent it back, but he didn't. He said the meat wasn't seasoned well, it was overcooked, tough, and it had a lot of gristle. He also said that he didn't get any guacamole with his order which he thought came with the meal. I'm sorry he didn't give the server an opportunity to address his concerns, but he didn't and it unfortunately left a negative feeling about the experience.

It was a servers first day , I believe her name was Drew . She was hands down excellent. We had quality service and she did everything possible to make us comfortable on a hot day . Thanks again !

Took almost an hour to get our food. Not sure if it was our server fault. But he seemed to be frustrated and overwhelmed. Kept having to ask him for simple things and he’d forget. Not the best experience there today.

Made reservations for a birthday dinner for 4 people when we arrived had to wait 40 minutes since they didn’t reserve our table. We were treated very poorly

we love chevys but this time was just not a hit. upon entry the hostess stayed on the phone while 3 parties waited and waited to get help. no one else was helping. no apologies either from her that she kept us waiting. second, the normally out of this world fabulous salsa tasted different to all of us - watery, not very flavorful. third, one of us ordered a burrito and while it was very good it was ridiculously large - no need to serve something that big. instead make it smaller and lower the price. our waiter wasn't real good, didn't pay much attention to us. we'll be back but this visit just wasn't that great. oh also the server didn't ask us for a phone # so we could get points and we all forgot.

Haven't been to this location in awhile and oh man, worse service and food ever. The refried beans were spoiled and they didn't seen to care. It took for ever to get any type of service and received hard rock tortillas. Will never go back. Elk Grove location is the Best.

Place was short staff so I do understand but sat there for 1hr without service finally mang took our order. Mang also stated drinks x2 was on him. Food came another hour later. At this point it was closer to 10p which didn’t eat just packed Togo. Bill was incorrect drinks weren’t covered and extra drinks were didn’t order was charged. We told the waiter he removed the extra drinks and not the mang drinks which was told to him and charged us without asking if bill was correct. All over worst service ever

Beautiful day outside for this yummy meal! The servers were funny and friendly, the food was great, not expensive. Really enjoyed our time!

the guy working our area had a huge workload and they seemed understaffed. This guy was running around for a lot of tables the whole time we were there, making our service slower

Char? Shar? was an awesome waitress. She was attentive and very friendly. Food was delicious and so were the drinks. My ONLY complaint.....they brought my appetizer out in STYROFOAM bowls. 🤔

Food quality was horrible! We ordered 2 steaks and shrimp platters. One was medium and the other was medium well. Both orders were over cooked, dry, and hard to eat. The rest of the food wasn’t much better.

Happy hour prices can't be beat! Thoroughly enjoyed our fajita combo nachos and birria tacos. Refreshed with a trio margarita flight was just right for a sunny afternoon! Repeat customer 😀

Every Sunday after church, it’s our family weekly bonding to have brunch. Chevys is an all time favorite however today, was extra special! Due to the above and beyond service of Sara, Dawn, and Mel, it was the best experience ever! Dawn sure knows how to keep the kids, and adults, busy while waiting for the food! Sara is a trooper, with always a smile on her face, and Mel, despite our big table, always willing to assist with a fun attitude. They’re surely an asset to this location!

Overall experience was good. I was a little disappointed with the menu change in which the vegetarian options were taken away. The one that was there before was really good. The barbecue corn was just ok. Our server was very good and attentive. I would still recommend it.

Prices have gone up. Best time to go is happy hour! Food good as usual. Salsa seems to have more kick this time, have a drink handy.

Normal Chevy's restaurant. Service was a real issue. Don't know if they were short staffed or what but service was poor. Waiter didn't get us water when asked. Order was input wrong and didn't come at the same time. Never checked on us after receiving food. Had to flag him down to pay the check.

I love Chevy’s on the river I always have a great experience and my Girlfriend loves it too. The only reason I gave 4 stars out of 5 on this particular visit is due to the fact that it was a reservation at 7pm which was probably around the busiest time of the night so the service was slightly rushed but I completely understand that Valentine’s Day is a busy night. Any other day 5 out 5 stars.

I had a friendly hostess who escorted me a a table right away. When my server got to my table she knowledgeable, friendly and patient. My food arrived quickly and it was hot.

Michelle was a fantastic waitress. We had 16 people for a retirement luncheon, and she was so responsive and just did a fantastic job. Was very impressed with her, the food and how everything was ready when we showed up.

Kinda sad this time around my parents ordered the chicken fajita. The chicken was a bit burned and the tortillas were still a bit raw. But my order the Sampler was good..just felt like it was getting a bit cold

We stopped going to Chevys on the river years ago due to the poor service. It’s a big improvement! Great service. Excellent food. Restaurant was clean.

The super Cinco I ordered was very Blane the meat had no seasons the salsa for the chips was soupy store bought taste no flavor in the food and I bn a fan of chevys very disappointing

Brought 6 YO granddaughter with us on our 43rd anniversary. Antonio went way out of his way to ensure her experience was as enjoyable as ours. Mater de (6'6" giant didnt get his name) was awesome. Wife & I come here every Aug 2 and Dec 4 (minus COVID). This was the BEST of 15+ years eating at Chevy's on the River. Kudos to what appears to be a new chef. Chili Reyano (spell ck) was the best EVER! Thx Walter Long

Dinner was delicious, drinks were good and the service was awesome. I can’t remember our waitress’ name but she was HUSTLING! She had so many tables and not all close together. She was doing awesome! Thank you so much! Will probably be back next Sacramento trip!
