Che Fico, is a new California Italian restaurant from Chefs David Nayfeld and Matt Brewer in San Francisco's NOPA neighborhood. The food focuses on Italian cuisine through the lens of California. It’s our vision of Northern California as if it is a region in Italy, our connection to the region, and our love for Italian culinary practices. The rustic, market-driven menu features handmade pasta, pizzas, antipasti, housemade salumi, meat, and fish plus dishes from the Jewish-Roman heritage known as “Cucina Ebraica.” The beverage program focuses heavily on both Italian and Californian wines with a cocktail program that utilizes a variety of spirits, amaros, and seasonal ingredients. Che Fico is a place to gather with friends and enjoy warm hospitality, food, and drink, through an approachable menu and convivial ambiance.

We loved everything about our dinner at Che Fico. Great server at the bar, great service, the best Caesar Salad ever, incredible Roman arancini and excellent lasagna. One thing that really perplexed me: How does a great SF Italian restaurant not have an espresso machine???? I know that some bay area restaurants don't serve espressos, lattes, etc but Che Fico? No expresso machine? Really? I woulds love to hear from someone in management as to why iIcan't get an espresso at Che Fico. :-)

Great food. The focaccia bread is the best I’ve ever had. The pizza was also amazing. Prices are too high though and in my opinion it’s overpriced.

Overall food was good. Didn't care much for the strawberry polenta. Was over cooked and tasted gummy , oatmeal like texture. The service was very friendly and attentive. Price point is a little on the higher side, worth visiting for a special event or occasion. Don't see myself going their for just a regular meal. Pizza was the star of the show.

overall food was good but not memorable. the homemade sausage was OK, not "great" as the server suggested. Worth going because of the ambiance.

Brunch! This was their first brunch short and it did not disappoint. They continue to have the best pizza and now breakfast sandwiches around.

We enjoyed our Mother's Day Brunch at Che Fico. The staff was welcoming, our waitress, was pleasant and helps us with our menu selections, as well as the delicious cocktails. The dinning room is a fabulous redo of an old auto garage, with a great big sky light and creative architecture. Can't wait to come back for dinner!

The food was so delicious! Che Fico never disappoints. We ordered the suppli (so good!) and we got the margarita pizza (crust was perfection) and two pastas and the veal. The whole table ate everything! We can’t wait to go back!

Our third time. We have been with a group in the past and went for an anniversary dinner this time. Food was excellent, it definitely not the right atmosphere for a romantic evening. We specified it was our anniversary and the host even acknowledged it. We were sat in the middle of the commotion and could barely hear each other. Would return with a group but not for a romantic night.

The pizza crust was too burnt (past charred goodness) and the polenta was a little too toothsome. I found a little hair on my suppli plate. The pricing was a bit high, but overall I would return because the flavor of the food and the staff/ atmosphere was so nice.

While overall it was a great meal, we did think the desserts we had, panna cotta and the crostata, could have been better. Everything else was great, particularly the Chicken Arrosta, the tagliatelle, supli, and salumi. Look forward to our next visit.

Very surprised to be disappointed. I understood the reputation was stellar so had high hopes. The Italianized beef tartare was delicious. The rest was ok but not stunning. The pasta came and the server came to add Parmesan and out way too much on so that the sauce was hard to taste. Opposite with the fish. It was slightly over cooked and came with too much overpowering sauce. I was referred to the sommelier for wine advice but his input was minimal and he suggested nothing beyond Tuscany. Not convinced he knew much about Italian wine. All in all - we had a lovely evening but for the price (and reputation) I expected more.

Our server was truly rude and unattentive. He didnt say hello, made fun of us when we asked about a substitution, and when our pizzas took (genuinely) 50 minutes to arrive after they cleared the apps, he didn’t come over to explain until we flagged down multiple staff. It seemed like his first time ever serving in a restaurant, or that he just didn’t care at all whether we had a good experience. He really detracted from our experience and we ended up spending too much time talking about how terrible the service was instead of enjoying our own conversation. This is one of our favorite restaurants and we hope to come back in the future and have a better experience. The food was delicious.

Loved everything from cocktails to salad, to pasta. Ordered the squid ink pasta with crabmeat and the lemon triangoline. Both were amazing! This places does everything well!

I was smitten from the moment I walked through the door. Beautiful space, and the service was really exceptional—casual but everything on point and extra thoughtful touches.

I wish I could give 10 stars for service! Ron, our server was attentive, kind and overall, wonderful. Every dish we ordered was an absolute banger, my only complaint is that I didn’t have an extra stomach to fit all the other food I wanted to try! We will for sure be back. Thank you Che Fico!

Noise level was high, and the service was pretty casual. Attentive when getting our order and serving us, but longgggg stretches between plates and checking in, checking on drinks. We left before dessert because we felt we'd been there long enough.

Che Fico was recommended by my son and I must say that my wife and I were both very impressed by the whole experience from the service , the food and cocktails , to the actual setting and atmosphere of Che Fico . Did not disappoint for our 37th Anniversary celebration. Two thumbs way up and can’t wait to get back to this wonderful dining spot in SF on Divisadero St.

The apps came within 20 min, the mains took 1.5hrs. The bread was the only value for experience. Staff is great, congenital and kind but cannot make up for dissatisfaction with food. Downstairs deli apparently has higher rating.

A diverse and interesting menu, drawing unusually on a tradition of Jewish-Italian cuisine. So this is not at all your traditional Italian trattoria. They encourage sharing dishes family-style, which means you have the opportunity to sample a range of offerings. The atmosphere was lively and tables are close together. The noise level can euphemistically be described as ‘energetic’. Not the venue for a quiet romantic dinner, but fun for a party of 4 or more.

Outstanding food, excellent wine recommendations from the somm complete with producer story. Server seemed new and quite aloof. He never checked if we wanted more wine and I had to ask for more as he was removing two empty glasses.

Trendy dining with creative menu and inflated prices. We celebrated my husband’s birthday here after a long hiatus (6 years)! The cocktails are $20, a regular margarita pizza is $32, a salad is $25, a pasta with no protein is $34! The food ranged from good to fair, nothing great. Decor is open and pleasant, and the noise level is acceptable. With these prices, we won’t be back unless we win the lottery!

We had a wonderful evening at Che Fico. Our server Karen was excellent and recommended to us great options. The food was delicious and our cocktails tasted great. The focaccia and tagliatelle were to die for.

The whole fish (rock fish) was good as was the asparagus. The campanelle and tuna app were very underwhelming. Everything is overpriced.

Have been going to Che Fico for the last 6 years and it is always as good as the time before. Consistency is the key. Good food, fresh ingredients, great service, wonderful bar, innovative menu and an amazing group of people running the show from the front of the restaurant all the way to the back of the kitchen. Can’t wait to visit again soon.

Food, cocktails, ambience -- on point! Che Fico a wonderful concept, but the service continues to be erratic. For everyone here who is serious about their profession--be it temporary or long-term--there are people here who seem to be from central casting for the role of "most incompetent server". Were they hired 5 minutes before the restaurant opened tonight? Che Fico would be better off with QR codes or a giant, regularly updated chalkboard that patrons could order from. I would actually prefer to pay $32 for a pizza if I could pick it up from the counter myself rather than deal with people "working" here who would clearly rather be anywhere else.
