Che Fico, is a new California Italian restaurant from Chefs David Nayfeld and Matt Brewer in San Francisco's NOPA neighborhood. The food focuses on Italian cuisine through the lens of California. It’s our vision of Northern California as if it is a region in Italy, our connection to the region, and our love for Italian culinary practices. The rustic, market-driven menu features handmade pasta, pizzas, antipasti, housemade salumi, meat, and fish plus dishes from the Jewish-Roman heritage known as “Cucina Ebraica.” The beverage program focuses heavily on both Italian and Californian wines with a cocktail program that utilizes a variety of spirits, amaros, and seasonal ingredients. Che Fico is a place to gather with friends and enjoy warm hospitality, food, and drink, through an approachable menu and convivial ambiance.

Our server was truly rude and unattentive. He didnt say hello, made fun of us when we asked about a substitution, and when our pizzas took (genuinely) 50 minutes to arrive after they cleared the apps, he didn’t come over to explain until we flagged down multiple staff. It seemed like his first time ever serving in a restaurant, or that he just didn’t care at all whether we had a good experience. He really detracted from our experience and we ended up spending too much time talking about how terrible the service was instead of enjoying our own conversation. This is one of our favorite restaurants and we hope to come back in the future and have a better experience. The food was delicious.

Loved everything from cocktails to salad, to pasta. Ordered the squid ink pasta with crabmeat and the lemon triangoline. Both were amazing! This places does everything well!

I was smitten from the moment I walked through the door. Beautiful space, and the service was really exceptional—casual but everything on point and extra thoughtful touches.

I wish I could give 10 stars for service! Ron, our server was attentive, kind and overall, wonderful. Every dish we ordered was an absolute banger, my only complaint is that I didn’t have an extra stomach to fit all the other food I wanted to try! We will for sure be back. Thank you Che Fico!

Noise level was high, and the service was pretty casual. Attentive when getting our order and serving us, but longgggg stretches between plates and checking in, checking on drinks. We left before dessert because we felt we'd been there long enough.

Che Fico was recommended by my son and I must say that my wife and I were both very impressed by the whole experience from the service , the food and cocktails , to the actual setting and atmosphere of Che Fico . Did not disappoint for our 37th Anniversary celebration. Two thumbs way up and can’t wait to get back to this wonderful dining spot in SF on Divisadero St.

A diverse and interesting menu, drawing unusually on a tradition of Jewish-Italian cuisine. So this is not at all your traditional Italian trattoria. They encourage sharing dishes family-style, which means you have the opportunity to sample a range of offerings. The atmosphere was lively and tables are close together. The noise level can euphemistically be described as ‘energetic’. Not the venue for a quiet romantic dinner, but fun for a party of 4 or more.

Outstanding food, excellent wine recommendations from the somm complete with producer story. Server seemed new and quite aloof. He never checked if we wanted more wine and I had to ask for more as he was removing two empty glasses.

Trendy dining with creative menu and inflated prices. We celebrated my husband’s birthday here after a long hiatus (6 years)! The cocktails are $20, a regular margarita pizza is $32, a salad is $25, a pasta with no protein is $34! The food ranged from good to fair, nothing great. Decor is open and pleasant, and the noise level is acceptable. With these prices, we won’t be back unless we win the lottery!

We had a wonderful evening at Che Fico. Our server Karen was excellent and recommended to us great options. The food was delicious and our cocktails tasted great. The focaccia and tagliatelle were to die for.

The whole fish (rock fish) was good as was the asparagus. The campanelle and tuna app were very underwhelming. Everything is overpriced.

Have been going to Che Fico for the last 6 years and it is always as good as the time before. Consistency is the key. Good food, fresh ingredients, great service, wonderful bar, innovative menu and an amazing group of people running the show from the front of the restaurant all the way to the back of the kitchen. Can’t wait to visit again soon.

Food, cocktails, ambience -- on point! Che Fico a wonderful concept, but the service continues to be erratic. For everyone here who is serious about their profession--be it temporary or long-term--there are people here who seem to be from central casting for the role of "most incompetent server". Were they hired 5 minutes before the restaurant opened tonight? Che Fico would be better off with QR codes or a giant, regularly updated chalkboard that patrons could order from. I would actually prefer to pay $32 for a pizza if I could pick it up from the counter myself rather than deal with people "working" here who would clearly rather be anywhere else.

Man o man… Mediocre experience. Sat at the bar with friend. Great bartenders, awesome drinks , 5 total Ordered two appetizers…; Focaccia, excellent; Arancini good bite. Ceasar salad…; drenched in mayonnaise basically, awful. Vegetarian Lasagne…, beautifully displayed, lacked taste, needed more béchamel and parmigiana reggiano. Value: $260.00 with tip Not a great experience for price point.

Food is great. Service is terrible. Very long time waiting for food. And finally when food is ready found the waitress got the food wrong. Waitress didn’t notice tea pot is empty until being reminded. Waitress wouldn’t listen to me even when I say excuse me. Not sure it’s the noisy background or generally ignore me

Cool vibe. 4th time going to Che Fico. Its consistent. Pizza is solid. Underwhelms a bit compared to the price point / restaurants in the same tier.

Last night’s meal meal with my husband and a friend from NYC was wonderful, much improved over my November dinner. We sat in a booth which helped with noise. Our waitress was great as well as the rest of the team. She made excellent recommendations for the special focaccia, gem salad, house-made salumi and pasta (bolognese and the crab). Appreciated their knowledge of the Italian wine. Looking forward to going back more frequently.

Great food and service! My first time visiting Che Fico. Loved the asparagus and the focaccia and the pizza… really I had a wonder time with my guests and I look forward to the next time.

Service was confusing and seems to be on trend in the Bay area as wait staff do not seem to care about their jobs despite the 5% living wage fee their employers are charging. We came expecting a late night bite to eat with a cocktail. Our waiter heard our order of just a few things and remarked that "that will not fill you up" which I took as him trying to hint that we were not ordering enough. He took the order and we literally never saw him again. A young woman brought us our bill after asking if we would like dessert. I guess* our original waiter felt like we were not worth his time? Even with our three items and two cocktails, the bill was $150.

Second time I eat here. First time was amazing. This time was a disappointment. Started with the $16 small piece of plain focaccia that was delicious last time, this time it was covered in hot chili flakes(?) and was too spicy to eat. Why the chili spice? We had the $39 Beef tartare, which was tasteless and one of the worst beef tartares I’ve had. Did not finish it. We had the arancini rice balls which were pretty good. Then we had the caramelle pasta. Last time it was delicious, this time we didn’t even finish it. It was plain bad. The music was nice at first, half way through dinner changed to very loud hard rock. Weird… Hard to carry a conversation. Don’t mind that music, but not at dinner. Waitress had an attitude. Best part was that Sommelier was lovely and very nice. She recommended a good bottle of red wine which was the only good tasting thing of our dinner. We decided to not order more food and skipped dessert. Decor and ambiance are very nice. Will not go back.

Our food was as fantastic as we had heard from friends. The service on a Friday night made it more difficult to enjoy it, however, as we saw different wait staff throughout the evening at seemingly random moments. It was hard to get what we needed, especially after we didn’t care for the wine that was recommended. We’ll be back for sure, but maybe a little more aggressive!

The food is amazing - you won't be disappointed. The service is great and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Be prepared to spend money though. The prices are high and there is an automatic 10% charge for employee benefits, etc. This is not a tip. Splurge worthy, yes, but buyer be prepared.

This recent meal was the best we’ve ever had at Che Fico in the 5+ years we have been going there. We had excellent drinks to start and later enjoyed a couple of fine glasses of wine. The Foglia de Fava pizza was a wonderful mix of exciting flavors and had an amazing crust that was like no other pizza crust around. The squid ink bigoli with Dungeness had an incredible breadth of flavors and the short rib agnolotti was similarly fabulous and looked great with the agnolotti arranged perfectly in the dish. The service was so good that they even called us to let us know that we had forgotten our leftovers and could come by to pick them up. Can’t wait to go back

Food is pretty good, but not amazing. Very overpriced, even for SF, as well as egregious hidden “10% dine-in fee”. Service is fine but not great.
