As soon as Amy Chanta flung open the doors in 1989 Chat Thai became an instant smash hit with Sydney diners already familiar with Thailand and no appetite for compromising on ingredients, flavours, textures and aromas. Searching all across Sydney for the correct vegetables, herbs and sauces Amy was able to set herself apart through a stubborn dedication to reminding diners of their unforgettable food experiences on the streets of Bangkok.

Three decades later we are proud to continue Amy’s vision by adding organic vegetables from Boon Luck Farm to serve up authentic Thai dishes we ourselves want to eat. Unique flavours the Thai diaspora crave from the motherland but struggle to find outside of their own home cooking.

    Large selection of authentic Thai food with many dishes different from standard Thai fare. Good selection of spicy Som Tam dishes! Good ambience and good service, and reasonably priced, would definitely go back.

    Service was efficient on a busy Saturday night. The pad see ew noodles were a bit too sweet and probably would benefit from a bit more char. The brown rice was forgotten. Overall, was a nice family-friendly dining experience

    The menu contains dishes that are not typically available at Thai restaurants, as well as all the traditional favourites. It's a good place to try something different.

    Consistently good and enjoyable Thai food. We have sometimes found the service staff a little laking in attentiveness. However, this is not such a major issue that would keep us coming back to Chat Thai.

    During our visit, there were 4 of us at the table. I initially ordered an Apani Sparkling 500ml, but unfortunately, the waiter informed me that it was out of stock. Consequently, I opted for a BUOY Soda instead. Despite this change, we noticed that we were still charged for the extra sparkling waters that we did not consume. I sent email to the shop twice, but no reply at all.

    We love Chat Thai, Chatswood. Been here few times and always enjoyed our meals. The best Thai food we have had in Sydney, by far! Thank you
