What an absolute disappointment and let down. While food was mostly decent, it is very overpriced for what it is and the portions. That is not what was problematic, however. For a high end restaurant like this, I am absolutely shocked at how poor the service was. We waited at our table for nearly 10 to 15 minutes for someone to come over. We were 1 of 2 tables so it’s not like busy was an excuse. The person who seated us initially gave us the wrong daytime menus (it was 4pm when dinner service began) and I had to get up and get the correct menus from her and ask if someone would be coming by. She was on her phone as were the two waitresses in the place. (Gen Z get it together and get off of your damn phones while working!) We were hardly checked on. Not asked if we would like to order appetizers (isn’t upsell an important business move?). But the absolute worst part was the waitress knew it was my mom’s birthday. When the desserts finally arrived, of all people, she forgot my mom’s and could not be found for a while. In fact for a good 10 minutes there was no one around. So my nephews ate their dessert as we all sat there and watched. The busboy tried to be attentive but there was only so much he could do. I’m going to assume that this is a weekend brunch place and that’s it. Any other service is out of their league and capacity. And because we were 6 people, a 20% a gratuity was added. Killed me to sign off on the bill without crossing out the gratuity but sucked it up for my mom’s sake. She’s not well and just getting her up and out is a big deal. Never again. So many other restaurants— especially in RVC. Get it together Chat Noir. Cute concept with potential. People will pay the higher prices for dining when the service makes it worthwhile.
