Chartier is a rustic, French-Canadian restaurant located in the heart of Beaumont, AB. The menu, created by Head Chef Tamara Solon, is an elevated take on rustic French-Canadian favourites; made with love, care, and extraordinary amounts of butter. Our food is for everyone. Not frilly and pretentious, just wholesome local ingredients that taste amazing and fill your belly.

Chartier was named the Best New Restaurant by Avenue Magazine in 2016, one of the top 10 Best New Restaurants in Alberta by the Globe and Mail, and made the long list for the Best New Restaurants in Canada by enRoute Magazine. Most recently, it was featured on Food Network Canada’s Big Food Bucket List starring John Catucci.

We are back in Beaumont for May's Sunday Spirit club, featuring an all-Edmonton lineup from Hansen Distillery! We are SO excited to welcome back Sean "The Dark Cloud" Kincaid, who will be handpicking four spirits to taste from Hansen's award winning line of whisky, gin, vodka, and cream liquor. You will be greeted with a reception cocktail created by our Bar Dad, Mike, followed by a tasting of each spirit paired to a small bite created by Chef Travis Golbeck, highlighting each ones unique flavour profile and character. Tickets are $60 each, and you'll have the option of picking from a 4pm seating OR 6:30pm seating. We hope to see you there!

We're excited to welcome back the Canoe Trip - a once-a-month six course tasting menu designed for those who like to try "a little bit of everything" when they go out for a special meal. The cost is $90/person + GST and gratuity, with drink pairings available for an additional $40 (non-alcoholic drink pairings are also available) All you have to do is sit back, relax, & enjoy your evening as we guide you through "the best of Chartier". That's why we've invited one of our favourite reps, Phil Blazusiak, who will be handpicking four of his favourite tequilas from the Espolon portfolio. Hosted a birthday dinner here with family and friends. It was an awesome evening. The food and drinks were all recently seasonally changed and gave us a chance to try something different. Loved they have lots of gluten free options and we all had the fish & chips!!

I’m a regular of Chartier with my husband and other family members and friends. The food is always great, the ambience is awesome. I’ve noticed when I make a reservation over doing a walk in we get seated at a more quiet and comfy table. The kitchen is very accommodating for substitutions on the food and drinks for dietary or preferences. We never have to worry about screw ups for my family members allergies or dietary concerns. The staff is always super friendly, the service is great, and when there is human error Chartier makes up for it ten fold. I love bringing family and friends to dine here with me for the first time, my mom is Saskatchewan French Canadian and loves the authentic and nostalgic style and menu.

We really wanted to enjoy this place for Mother's Day. I booked a reservation for my husband and kids hearing great things. I've also been to the bakery side and always enjoyed the baked goods. Our brussel sprout slaw came out quickly and it was good. Then we waited quite a long time for the rest of the meals to come out, probably 45 minutes plus so my husband and I had a difficult time keeping our kids happy as they were quite hungry. Then once our food did arrive we were highly disappointed. My daughter's pizza was so hard on the crust you could break a tooth and my husband's pot pie crust was overcooked, as well as my son's fries were just a bunch of fry ends, not really many full sized fries. His chicken nuggets were also overcooked and dry. My mushroom risotto was good and the kids gelato at the end. We mentioned the pizza to the server and they offered to make a new one but at this point our kids were already restless so we declined and then we were still charged for it! I didn't mention the pot pie crust at the time as to not sounds like we were just complaining but I thought they'd at least take her pizza off the bill. Very disappointed as I've wanted to try this place for years.

This was my first time going, went with my senior mother to the mothers day brunch. The food was incredible! I will definately be back.

The service was attentive and very considerate of two seniors in my group: she couldn't have been more helpful or nicer! And the new menu: outstanding! We tried the street corn soup, mushroom risotto, and pork belly main, and all were scrumptious. Hugely recommended!

Came here for the Mother’s Day brunch, and it was amazing. Service was fast, food was great, I really liked the selection of local ingredients and I thought it was great value and there was lots of leftovers that I enjoyed the next day. I will definitely make the drive out there from Edmonton again.

Amazing food for the Mother’s Day event and plenty of it. Everyone was thoroughly impressed by the taste, presentation, and offerings. There was major interest to return next year for more of the same, it was highly memorable.

I reserved the mother's day brunch quite far in advance for my mother, her friend and myself. I was thoroughly disappointed in what we received for the price we paid. The charcuterie boards were thrown together and the items that should have been hot were cold. I expected so much more

Haricots verts as the appetizer was yummy as always. Ordered the signature dish, the lobster poutine to share as our entree. Very disappointing. The fries tasted burnt (old oil maybe),the mussels did not seem fresh. One of the lobster tails was so tough couldn’t get it out of the shell. Not at all worth the $100 price tag. Left most of it on the plate. The Caesar cocktail was delicious but sadly the waitress didn’t come around for another drink order.

Made reservations for a business meeting for three people. Service was slow, but the server was nice. Ordered the ham, pear and brie benny as well as a poutine to share with one client, and my other client also ordered a benny. Each dish only came with one benny which I thought was strange because I've always received two bennys when ordering that dish at other restaurants. It was so awkward and difficult to cut the one benny in half to share with my client and it made a total mess. The pear had a really weird taste and texture which didn't work with the other ingredients. When the server came to ask how everything has, I mentioned that the benny tasted strange, hoping that she would offer to replace it with another menu item; however, she just said "it's a new menu item, I'll pass along that feedback to the kitchen". The breakfast potatoes were also not great (super salty) and the side salads with both benny dishes was brown. My one client even mentioned that they've never been served brown lettuce at a restaurant before. The gravy on the poutine was extremely salty as well. I was very embarassed since I chose the restaurant and was very disappointed considering the good reviews I seen prior to making the reservation. I approached the waitress and expresses my concerns, but asked her to be discreet because I didn't want to make a scene in front of my clients. She said she would take care of it and then proceeded to send someone to our table to apologize and give us three loaves of bread. I was really shocked they did that because I asked them to be discreet as we where there for a business meeting and that didn't come across as professional at all. I was hoping they would either just replace the food we were having an issue with, or take something off the bill, but they didn't do either. Really surprised by all the great reviews, and I definitely won't be going back. It's a shame because the atmosphere is really pleasant and the prices are reasonable.

Not unexpected that once again Chartier provided a lovely meal, friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere. Well worth the drive to downtown Beaumont.

We were placed in a dark corner & couldn’t read the menu without turning on the light on our phone. The table was placed so close to the wall we could barely get into our seats & we are not large people. The food was ok. Just because you put a lot of stuff on a food item doesn’t mean it tastes good. The breakfast poutine was heavily sodium based. I believe the cheese curds are supposed to be somewhat melted, not a hard curd. This restaurant was recommended by several friends but I doubt if we would go back, especially for brunch. The chicken burger was good, perhaps a little too much sauce. The fries are also good. Our waitress was exceptional. Very attentive & good with the children.

Excellent business lunch! The service was friendly and timely, and the food was excellent. Spinach & Artichoke Benny, Le BLT and Sugar Shack Fried Chicken Sandwich were absolutely delicious. So were the shared Haricots Verts. Portions were generous we ended up each taking home half our lunch for supper.

The meal was as good as always. Server was super friendly and helpful. The prices were even pretty good. We legit double checked the bill because we thought she forget to ring something in. I don’t get to Beaumont much but if I’m in the area, I’m going to Chartier

Fabulous as always. The service and food are always excellent, the vanilla latte is a perfect brunch drink and the bakery case has too many goodies to count! We'll be back again, and soon!

First time visitors. We were greeted by friendly staff, seated promptly and were pleasantly surprised at the amount of space we had in our booth. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive to our requests. The dinner was delicious and the ambiance warm and cozy. We will definitely be back.

Went into try the Brushetta Staff burger. It wasn't my favourite of the staff burgers but it was still darn good. The service and atmosphere were delightful as always.

We both had been to Chartier a while back and had really liked it. However this time: 1. Green beans to batter ratio was 1 to 3 and dripping with oil, not at all like before. Then, you could taste the long green beans. These made me ill. 2. Dill pickle soup: why so little? I would say I got between 1/2 an 2/3 cup and why did it have to be spicy? This soup is not usually spicy… 3. Carrot ginger soup. My lunch companion said hers only tasted spicy, no carrot flavour. 4. My sourdough was cold with congealed butter on it. We were both very disappointed with the quality and the price of our lunch. We would like Chartier to keep going, that is why we reviewed it here instead of Google, if you want to stay in business, you have to do better.

Very nice! We had been humming and hawing for a long time to get here (we live in Athabasca). We went for a birthday and wish we would have gone sooner. The food was excellent!! That’s all there is to say. The wine list is limited but what they offer is quality. Erica was an exceptional hostess. Decor is quaint but a little tight. Also the sourdough bread is awesome!
