Our waiter was fabulous! Food was good but not great. The view sitting looking at the water made it well worth it.

There was two of us and we were placed in the front of the restaurant and the foot traffic was bad. Not a good table The food was very good and the service was good. The tables were a little too close together.

We went for Mother's Day. Restaurant was booked full with reservations. They had a reduced food options for the day, guests had to choose a three-course menu. We added popcorn shrimp, they were delicious, crunchy and moist. We continued with lobster bisque, creamy and with just the right amount of spiciness. I had habanero-spiced mango seabass for the entree, lovely combo of sweetness with bite. Topped the dinner off with yummy cheesecake with cherries. Service was great, we did not feel rushed. All in all a great experience.

Had late lunch for Mother’s Day and Arrived 15 before. Staff was friendly and sat us down by rhe window with Ocean view. Food was delicious!!! Calamari, prime rib, and mashed potatoes, chowder, linguini, shrimp, steak, salad, etc . Oh… n my kids loved the key lime pie, cheesecake n lava cake too. 3 course entree was a lot of food $72, which was fair price. We were so full and had to take leftovers. Overall, It was great service and delicious food.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Mother's Day lunch at a window table with fantastic views of the bay, the birds, the seals and the otters. Food was fantastic and well portioned.

The host was kind and sweet, the waiter we had seemed he was having a bad day or something. Was kinda rude and didn't really care to inform us with specials or engage in any conversation.

For over 20 years, every since I was a student at the Naval Postgraduate School, one of our favorite things about The Chart House, was the authentic caviar on the salad bar. Much to our dismay, the salad bar caviar is now a vegetarian “fake” caviar. It is terrible and that is enough to knock The Chart House off of our favorite Monterey restaurant list. We will probably go to the Sardine Factory, in the future. I understand if some people wish to have the vegetarian caviar, but to completely replace the authentic caviar is not ideal, in my opinion. Chart House can offer both types of caviar.

Awesome location and great views. As far as the food was concerned it was sub par and definitely not worth the outrageous price. Service was poor I was even charged for a beer I did not receive. Their are far more better places to eat in the Monterey area I do not recommend this place at all it was a huge let down.

Wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion. We celebrated our 29th Anniversary and our waiter, Octavio, made the dinner enjoyable!!

Open table Works really well. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. I think our server’s name was Damian; and he was attentive and very pleasant!! He is a great asset to the Chart House!! I had the salad bar, while my husband had the Prime Rib dinner. We decided to have an early dinner and it was ‘just right’! It was one of those nights when we really enjoyed our evening. Very nice!! Thank you, Damien!

This was our first visit to the Chart House in Monterey. The food and drinks were tasty and well prepared. Our server Damian made great recommendations; he was friendly and professional. The view of the Bay from our table was spectacular; we enjoyed birds, otters and seals. We have been to several other Chart House restaurants over the years and the Monterey restaurant lived up to our expectations.

We go for the salad bar and it was fresh and with lots of options, as always. I had the halibut - I appreciate that they offer different ways of cooking/preparation and they honored the requests we had. My husband also had fish (macadamia nut crusted ahi) and both of our meals were very good. We had a nice window seat and were able to watch the otters as well as see the moonrise. The restaurant was a bit busy (Sunday night), but our server was still available when we needed him. Chart House remains a reliable choice.

Always a good experience . Good service and consistently good food. However, there was one disappointment this time. While all the fish dishes were stellar and the filet minion received high praise, the roast chicken left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, the dish has been changed. The chicken was tough, with flabby skin and a gloopy sauce that felt greasy on the palate. Our waiter on the other hand was a charmer and made the evening enjoyable. Come again - avoid the chicken.

Eat at the chart house regularly. Forgot to request my usual waiter who is great. So because of that we were seated in my opinion not one of the most desirable seats and a sub par waiter! My usual waiter came up to and greeted us and asked why the hostess didn’t seat us in his section ( to be honest she profiled me and sat us in the not so good section) and asked if we wanted to move but since the sub par already took our drink orders I said no it’s ok. So placed our appetizer order and within a few moments it was at our table then he came over took our dinner order. We added salad bar to our meals got up made our salads sat back down then within seconds they came out with our dinners. So we’re sitting there with appetizers which we barely touched our salads which we haven’t even really started and our dinner all in front of us at the same time. Never ever had that problem in the past so wasn’t it expecting it now but yet here we are. On top of that he almost disappeared completely! Empty drinks and when I was finally able to order a new drink it took forever and I had to remind him. It wasn’t even that busy when we were there. They need to teach this server basic skills and to pace the meal delivery nobody wants all that in your face when it should be a nice evenly paced enjoyable spaced out arrival of food. Note to self never ever forget to request my usual waiter

My gal and I had a wonderful dinner/date evening here. The manager made our evening helping out with our wine selection since they were out of the nickel nickel I ordered. He checked on us often and did a great job. Love to see fresh stuffed blue cheese olives instead of the bottled ones as they were horrible.
