    My family and I have been a long-time customer of the Chart House, so long that I can say I went to the Chart House for dinner on the night of my prom 26 years ago. I picked the Chart House to take my in-laws to dinner for my father-in-laws birthday. The host was welcoming and attentive. The food was excellent, complements to the chef. The waiter was great and very attentive to most at the table, with chit-chat about where he's lived and baseball as some at the table happen to be wearing MLB logo tees. The waiter happened to tell a joke about a time he was arrested, and the cop who happened to be African American, the waiter says jokingly that oh it's because I'm white. I don't doubt that he was joking. I don't think he made the joke with any intentional racism. As an African American, the joke was insensitive. I could have left dinner happy, but instead, I left upset and angry. Note to your waiter regardless if you think that it may be appropriate to the audience in front of you. Looks can be deceiving.

    We were celebrating our 75th anniversary staff from opening the front door to the final sip of wine was just utterly outstanding. We can’t thank you enough.

    The Mahi Mahi and Ahi Tuna were amazing. Cooked to perfection. I posted pics and my son who's a chef was impressed with the plating and cost

    We are locals and have enjoyed The Chart House in the past. We decided to take friends from out town to the restaurant to help celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. As always, the view was beautiful, but my wife and I noticed a drastic change in the quality of the food. She ordered a chopped salad which consisted of old, somewhat wilted lettuce. I ordered the prime rib, medium, 10 ounce. When the waiter brought my order, we both agreed that it was way over cooked, probably beyond well done, and certainly not 10 ounces. It looked like an old sole of a shoe. He took it back, but rather than have my friends wait for me, I ordered a shrimp appetizer. Needless to say, we will not return and will inform local friends and family to avoid this restaurant.

    Our waiter, Garrett, was exceptionally professional and attentive. He made our anniversary dinner a special occasion. We had the king salmon and Cantonese sea bass, both were freshly cooked and hot upon arrival. The anniversary portions of the hot lava cake and expressing cheesecake were just right. Well done !

    Wonderful table with a beautiful view of the water. The staff was friendly and very professional. The atmosphere was upscale but also family friendly, which is great for parents who want to have ambiance even though they also have kids with them. The food was also delicious. We may go here every time we go to Monterey.
