Spur of the moment decision to go to Chart House for lunch after the aquarium. It was great! Jen was extremely accommodating and very helpful. We had a great time!

Arrived a few minutes early for our Saturday dinner reservation but after about 30 minutes we had not been seated. When asked, the hostess said "oh a table just became available" and showed us that way. However, no server was assigned to us so we sat...and sat...and finally asked one of the folks cleaning tables if we could at least have some water. She was kind enough to fill our glasses but we still sat there waiting for a server that never came. After 20 minutes, I flagged down the next server to pass by. She was very apologetic and attempted everything in her power to make up for the almost hour wait by helping us herself even though we weren't in her section. We finally ordered and got some food, which was pretty good; however, the dis-organization was still stuck in my mind. I'd expect a wait if I showed up to such a popular spot without a reservation but we had made one in advance and even showed up a few minutes prior. I honestly wouldn't have thought much of the 30 minutes waiting for a table but it seemed like the hostess just sat us down at the 1st empty table she saw, without it having a server assigned, just to get us our of her hair. Oh, and I almost forgot, we were there so long that the valet driver came to find us because he had decided to go home and our rental was the last car there. When we left, we found that he had parked it in the clearly marked tow away zone in front of the restaurant. SOOO glad it didn't end up getting towed!!! I don't even want to know the process or cost of retrieving a towed rental car. Pretty frustrating overall experience even if the food was good.

The food was outstanding for our appetizers and dinners. Loved the location and the building. Very historic and interesting. Two small issues for us. We ordered three of the famous lava cakes for dessert, one was outstanding the other two were overcooked. Still good, but not a lava cake. Second, my wife ordered an interesting glass of wine to try and the pour was very small, for a $22 glass of wine, I would have expected a bit more in the glass seeing that my glass was filled properly. Again, we are picking here, we are definitely coming back. Great menu and worth the trip...

Excellent service at lunch for four. Great selection off the lunch & dinner menus. My seafood pasta had very over-cooked shrimp. Fish and chips that others had were very good.

Everything was fantastic. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and the coconut shrimp were delicious. The service and atmosphere made for a great evening. A must stop when in Boston!

We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. We haven’t been there in years but the quality this time was much higher. Our only complaint was we ordered a pricey bottle of red wine and it was warm. Seems they need a wine fridge for storage. Otherwise we will go back. Good service and atmosphere.

We started with the lobster bisque, and shared the lobster-stuffed scrod entree, with a side of asparagus. The fist was delicious and the asparagus were perfectly cooked. Service was prompt but not rushed.

Love this place. We come almost every year for our anniversary... sometimes twice! Omar, our server, was excellent! Personable, informative, and the order came perfectly timed and correct.

We had excellent service by waiter. Unfortunately when we arrived the hostess tried to see us next to large noisy party but we asked to be seated elsewhere and were satisfied.

The restaurant setting on the Boston waterfront was perfect the service and the food was excellent, prime rib and a NY sirloin both cooked as ordered. Drinks were made well also. The valet attendant was professional and prompt. I would recommend The Chart House to everyone and anyone.

Sadly the best part of the meal was the bar on the first level. We chose to dine at chart house for the proximity to other events in the area and thought we have left ample time to eat a relaxing meal (90 minites) but unfortunately the service was so terrible we were left scrambling to salvage the rest of our tour bookings. We felt as if the server was bothered by our being in his restaurant. He opted to not write anything down when we ordered drinks and proceeded to bring completely the wrong drinks not once, not twice, but three times. These were not complex cocktails - just beer and wine and finally on the third try he got it correct. We ordered appetizers and entrees and were surprised when the first app came out lightning quick (calamari so we thought it was because they wanted to serve it fresh and hot) wrong! It was cold as if it had been sitting out for service for 20min just hoping that someone would order it. We would have sent it back immediately but our server disappeared for 10min when he returned with only one other app and we told him the first was cold. He stood at the table and asked what we wanted him to do. As if the now 30min cold calamari was an option to eat? He took it back and again vanished for 15min this time. Only one app at the table (8 adults) After 15min A second server came with 3 other apps but did not know about the remaining 5 apps (we asked to re make the calamari) At this point we were 35 minutes into our meal and contemplated leaving - i wish we had in hindsight. Finally the remaining apps arrive - including a new order of calamari (which was VERY good) Then we finish and wait for our entrees - and wait - and wait. 30min have passed as it is now 80 minutes since we were seated and our entrees still have not come. The Resturant was not crowded and it seemed like everyone else was getting service. So we went to the hostess to ask where our server was and she flagged him down to ask about our food. We were shoc

There was a wedding reception on the second floor, very loud and noise carried to diners on third floor. Too loud. Server Brandon was excellent as was the food.

We have the pleasure of coming here on Easter with our family for lunch. It was very nice. The food was delicious as always, and I love the Easter special fixed menu. The service was good, but our waitress was very busy running around doing the best she could. I ordered a coffee and she didn’t bring any sugar. I had to wait for the sugar andby the time she brought the sugar the coffee was cold and I couldn’t have it with my dessert. I think the waitresses need to bus less tables so they can be a little bit more attentive to the tables that they are currently waiting on.

This Easter was not my first visit to Chart House. When I was stationed in New York, we went to a Chart House on various occasions. I have never had anything but "wonderful" to say. This particular Easter was even more than wonderful. We had a welcoming and wonderful waiter...the food was incredibly presented and DELICIOUS... the Boston cream pie was the best I ever had (and I am a Bostonian)... We had a wonderful time!! We eat early, 5:15, it was quiet and a nice atmosphere. Our waitress was friendly and amazing. The food was delicious. I had the shrimp and salmon , 3 course dinner special and it was delicious and very reasonable. My husband is very fussy and he had the medium prime rib, well, well done but not burnt and he asked for sauteed peppers, which are not on the menu, and it was perfect when it came. There wasn’t anything left on his plate. This is our favorite restaurant in Boston and now you know why!!
