Established in 1982 by London restaurateur, Peter Lee, the Charlie Chan Restaurant is one of the oldest restaurants in Cambridge. Our passion for authentic Chinese food has established the restaurant as a firm favourite with the people of Cambridge and tourists alike, serving fresh dim sum and traditional Chinese food daily.

Came to Cambridge on a day out with friends & kids. I was recommended Charlie Chan by a friend & this place did not disappoint. The food was fresh & less oiler than most dim sum places we get & the staff were super friendly. The only issue was we had to wait a while before someone took our order but once it was, the food came out really quick.

Good atmosphere. Good dim sum although deep fried items were not great. Service was fast. They were accommodating with our booking even though we arrived a bit late.

It's in the center of the cambridge on the oppsit side of the University Army Hotel. The beef brisket test best. The servings here are quite large, definitely meant for sharing. Not easy to park, better park in the mall or other side of the park.

My partner and I got married in May and had our wedding reception at Charlie Chan's. Peter Lee pulled out all the stops to help make it a memorable occasion- the food and service were fantastic! I have been coming to this restaurant for many years, but never ate upstairs. Charlie Chan's has a wonderful 2nd storey which can be hired out for special events. My mum told me about it, and I love the food and location so contacted them. They were really helpful, especially Angela & Peter Lee. They made sure we had everything we wanted for the perfect Asian wedding celebration. All the food (particularly the turbot and the lobster) were fresh and delicious. And vegetarians were really pleased with the exceptional tastes of the veggie options. My husband & I are really grateful to Peter Lee and the team for making our wedding reception really relaxed and enjoyable. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a venue for a celebration. We had 120 ppl there which is the maximum. And we were able to decorate the large room and tables to our taste- Charlie Chan's even organised a beautiful balloon arch for us. Thanks for a great day.

Delicious Chinese meal. The food was excellent. The restaurant is small. Upstairs not in use. All in need of refurbishment but would visit again for the food as it was very good. The menu is a piece of paper that you tick what you want and hand it in.

We booked a table for a family group of four. The food was delicious, the service friendly and very prompt. We've eaten out fairly regularly at the restaurant in recent years and can highly recommend it.
