Our party had a great experience at Char. We have dined there many times. Booked brunch for Mother’s Day, the restaurant was busy (obviously) but we still had great food and excellent service.

Food was good but service was lacking, for those prices and location you’d think service would be above average. Cindy left our drinks empty for most of the meal.

We visited Char Restaurant last night to celebrate our anniversary, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. The service was notably slow from the start. I ordered the prime cowboy ribeye, the most expensive steak on the menu at $59, and requested it medium. However, it arrived barely rare. After notifying the server, my plate was taken back to the kitchen, leaving me without my lobster tail and baked potato while my wife continued with her meal. It took about 12 minutes for the manager to return with what seemed to be the reheated original steak, now well-done and lacking the initial quality — it was soggy and mushy. Furthermore, the manager neither apologized nor offered to comp the steak, which compounded the disappointment. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment for those in search of a quality steak dinner.

Excellent service. Sarah was so friendly and attentive. Food was even more excellent. Crab cakes are exceptional as well as was the salmon. And oh my goodness - best pecan pie ever. Love the ambience. Overall experience was top notch.

I love Char and usually have great service. My server this time was terrible and very rude. Reaching over my guests not saying excuse me. It was only 11 people. Tickets were messed up. Just overall will never want her service again.

My husband, our six year old granddaughter, and I celebrated a “Special Occasion” honoring the granddaughter. It was a very fun, memorable evening. Our waitress, Sarah, was the perfect choice! She was very kind, attentive, and prompt. The granddaughter ordered a stuffed baked potato with cheese and bacon and ate every morsel plus she shared the creamed spinach au gratin side with the table. A Shirley Temple completed her order—she was “over the moon”. My husband had a delicious filet and wedge salad and I had lamb chops—both entrees came with a stuffed potato. I think he out ordered me—his being excellent, mine being good. I would definitely go back to Char again and would highly recommend it to everyone.

As always, the food and service are exceptionally well. At times the bar patrons can be a bit loud which will drown ou the wonderful live piano. Overall, I would highly recommend this establishment.

Sat at the bar for brunch. Fries were soft and cold. Fish sandwich had slaw on it that was oily. Tried to just eat the fish but it was too fishy. Couldn’t eat any of it. Service was great. Don’t know what’s happening in the kitchen.

We loved the variety of the menu. All the choices were good. The sea bass was exceptional. The seafood carbona was heavy on shrimp or other seafood wasn’t noticeable. The pecan pie was addictive! The server was totally attentive!

Usually it never disappoints but this time the fried okra was way too battered and came out looking like plump chicken tenders! Then the okra was tough and chewy. I ordered my burger a medium temp and it came out well done and too salty. They kept running out of glasses to refill our drinks. Everything else was good but I wanted it to be top notch as usual since I had out of town guests.

One of our favs in Greenhills but haven't been for several months. I got the sea bass and spouse got the scallops ... excellent as always! Waitress Alexa was polite, informative, and very attentive. Parking in underground garage is complimentary if you use the QR Code at the front desk and enter your plate info.

Enjoyable atmosphere , fair prices honored our reservation on time. If you park more than two hours you will have to pay for 2 more hours. Valet might be a better option.
