Not at all worth the money. Store bought food, strangely hostile employees. We saw one of the servers get aggressive with a guest while we were there. Gluten free options are very poor.

This is a popular place for gatherings! When I arrived, the line to check in was out the door and the host was busy filling other roles. Even though I both listed Gluten Free and called ahead, it was a pretty disappointing experience. Perhaps one should have low expectations at a tea room for GF eating, but the website and menu both assure “gluten free options available.” And they are, but well…they are lame. They offered tea sandwiches on GF bread, and strawberries and cream. No scones. No pastries. Folks clearly don’t come here often on their own; as a solo diner I was stuck in a back corner by a drafty doorway and kitchen and nearly forgotten. After hearing about the limited GF options, I chose a salad that was served to me with no dressing…and regular bread. I was also poured a cup of tea with zero tea accompaniments, but provided honey quickly when finally asked. Although everyone I interacted with was kind and friendly, overall it was a disappointing experience. If you have a duo or group, you will likely really enjoy your time here.

This was our second Mother’s Day we spent at the Chado Room. So happy this place is so close to home. Such a beautiful place to enjoy tea and finger sandwiches. Atmosphere, food and service were great 😊 My daughter came out from Ohio to join us, Chado Room made our day feel even more special.

We had a lovely time at Chado! This is our third year in a row going for Mother’s day. Always a beautiful time!

Spent Mother’s Day Tea for the first time at Chado & will be coming back again for the next Mother’s Day event or just for a relaxing afternoon tea. They have an excellent service, food was great & lots of tea selections to choose from. The price point was just right & the ambiance was whimsical & charming.

Our first visit. Although the staff was a bit disinterested, the ambience and food were spot on.

What a wonderful hidden jewel in Old Torrance. It is just darling and the whole tea vibe is perfect. The tea service is authentic, the food really yummy and a wonderful tea selection. And for those of you who don't want the traditional tea service, they have lots of other things to chose from! Don't miss out on this special spot!

I felt the service was lacking. Wait staff did not intermittently check on our table/service needs. Had to seek out staff for final bill.

We felt the quality of the food was “ok” and nothing to brag about. The food was nothing better than what we’ve had at other teas. Had to ask for a to go box 3 times. No one came back to the table after delivering the food to see is everything was ok or to ask us if we need or want anything else.
