Join us for afternoon tea at the Japanese American National Museum. Sharing a beautiful outdoor space with the museum, our tea room can accommodate parties of up to 20 people.

We are a Los Angeles-based tea room and online tea retailer. We've been here for 30 years, helping the people of Los Angeles discover tea. Chado Tea Room has served the Los Angeles area for over 25 years. With 4 locations, they have revolutionized the Angelino tea lover's experience. World Tea Award for Best Retail Tea House in 2016 and 2017

Very pleasant courtyard with tables. The actual tea that you drink was fantastic. However, the food was fine, but not amazing. Caesar salad, overdressed, scones a little too dense, sandwiches just felt like sandwiches not tea sandwiches. Beware that the surrounding neighborhood is filled with homeless people and a little sketchy. Don’t park too far away .

Nice, peaceful tea room. Food was ok-nothing great. We ordered panini sandwiches, soup, dessert & tea. I’m not sure that there is a real kitchen here. Service was good. Not really worth the expense. We went there for the experience since we were visiting JANM.

For 4 unremarkable mini sandwiches, one scone, two cookies, and an unpalatable pot of tea, it was my not worth it. The waitress tried her best, but she could not over come the mediocre food and tea.

The food and tea here is honestly just ok and the price isn't bad at all for a tea room, but it's not great for the quality. I would come here again for a really cheap tea room vibe and experience, but it's definitely nothing extraordinary.

Hadn't seen a friend for years and this was such a great location to just sit and chat. We were so grateful that we were allowed to keep ordering without feeling pressured to move on. Food and tea were good but the shop is showing its age. Still a charming and nice place to meet for a cup of tea or two.

Great service. Staff was very nice and friendly. Tea was delicious. I loved the valetine’s day menu.

Horrible. Place was filthy when we arrived. They didn’t clean from the night before so there were dirty dishes on every table. Food was blah, service was slow. Staff is lazy & incompetent. So disappointing, will never go back.

It’s a nice place for tea but service was extremely slow. It felt like ages waiting for our food, check, etc. Maybe they were short staffed as we came on a weekday.

I would not recommend. Service was extremely slow even though we were one of two tables in restaurant. Took 20 minutes for waitress to come to our table. Tea was lukewarm. Restaurant has an unpleasant odor. Deserts on 3-tier platter were bought from grocery store and were dry. Scones were warm but dry and crumbly.
