An amazing dining experience from Chef Ana. Our party opted for the Mixta Paella which provided ample servings of delicious paella chocked full of mussels, shrimp, chicken, chorizo and was simply delicious! The experience began with a lovely 'welcoming cocktail' of homemade vermouth (infused vodka) and Cava sparkling. This was followed by a delicious starter of oven baked mushrooms and Spanish cheese. The meal included a bottle of sparkling Cava (we opted for 100% chardonnay though a rose option is available). Dessert featured exquisite flan or bread pudding which were fantastic finishes to an amazing meal. We cannot wait to return for the seven-course tasting menu. Setting is intimate, festive and welcoming! Thank you!!

This place is a real GEM. New fav MKE resto. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Small, intimate, romantic space with beautiful table settings. Tasting menu with wine pairings was phenomenal. Normally too much food for me, but this was just perfect. All dishes were so delish and thoughtfully prepared. Ana and her husband are the most gracious hosts. We will be back again and again . So glad we found Cavas. 💗

The overall experience was excellent. The food was great, the service was on excellent, but it was the overall experience that made the night remarkable. Chef Ana shows her passion in everything. We will definitely be back.

Had an amazing dinner on March 22nd at Cavas! Chef Ana and her husband Peter made us feel as if we were in their kitchen at home, enjoying cultural dining and champagne over family stories. The food was out of this world! We ordered the Mixta Paella for two. It came with an appetizer of Entrada (Pepa's mushrooms). This did not disappoint; the mushrooms were fresh and in olive oil sauce with Manchego cheese served on artisan bread. Next was Mixta Paella...a combination of Valenciana and Mariscos paella (roasted chicken, slow cooked pork and chorizo, with a mix of clams, mussels, shrimp, and white vermouth). The Spanish rice was crispy with flavor for days, the seafood fresh, and the chicken and pork cooked to perfection. Just when we thought we couldn't eat anymore, Chef Ana brought dessert, mini-Spanish flan and mini-Spanish bread pudding. Miraculously we found more room, as the dessert tasted like heaven! During the meal we sipped on a bottle of Cava champagne (included in the paella for two price) and enjoyed every minute of it. It's been a while since we had a dining experience this special. Chef Ana and Peter make you feel like a part of their family, and you can taste the love in the food. Highly recommend Cavas for date night, big family dinners, or a night with friends you won't forget!

Ana, the chef/owner recently revamped the restaurant concept. It is now a fixed price menu offering a mouth-watering selection of Spanish style tapas. There is a wine pairing option and a classic paella for those who don't want the full, fixed price, tapas experience. This small restaurant is a hidden gem, with limited opening hours and probably not more than 16 seats (+ 4 at the small bar) BUT it is absolutely worth dining there. Chef Ana is the most gracious of hosts, with an eye for detail and a palate that knows and understands Spanish cuisine. She makes everyone feel so very welcome, creating a feeling like she is inviting you into her home. Very highly recommended.

Ana and her husband make you feel like a guest in their home - their service was perfect — attentive, but not intrusive. The place is tiny, but comfortable. The prix fixe menu was beautiful, sort of like a small tasting menu, but we had the paella mixta, and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend it for a date or special occasion, and I will definitely go again (it was my second time — the first time was with their old regular menu, and it was equally delicious; I hope they bring it back). I’ve worked in plenty of restaurants in the front of the house and the back, and I really appreciate the way they run it — very small-scale and homey, but special and delicious.

Excellent experience and excellent food. This is a small and intimate restaurant with only a few tables. Food has a very traditional flare and high quality. Great for a date night. Highly recommend!

The food was very good. Felt authentic and every dish we ordered tasted good the vegetarian paella was great. The space is intimate and a little tight, but great nonetheless.

Wonderful experience in the Third Ward before the annual tree lighting. Food was very tasty, beautiful surroundings and pleasant staff all contributing to a wonderful Friday evening on the town. The dates filled with goat cheese were beyond amazing!

Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere, and the food is amazing! The menu is not large, but with plenty of interesting options. Our table of 4 shared the La Tabla appetizer which has a good sampling of the appetizers and all were fantistic! My favorite were the Pão de Queijo. We then moved on to share a few small plates, and then the Paella Valenciana. Everything was perfect! We will be back soon!

The food is spectacular, our favorite items were the pork empanadas, Valenciana paella, the provoleta, and of course the wine! It’s a small space but intimate and doesn’t feel like you’re in Milwaukee at all. The chef (Ana) cooks all of the food all night and is very sweet to all of her guests. Couldn’t recommend more and we’ll be coming back soon!

The food is amazing, that’s saying a lot because I’m picky about taste at restaurants. Ana is a very talented chef, so many flavors! The environment is so quaint and welcoming. Can’t recommend enough.

Food was outstanding. However we were told they were out of 3 of the 4 things we wanted to order. So we ordered other items and the items that were out still came so it was a very confusing and expensive meal.

The delicious smells hit you as soon as you open the door! A truly wonderful experience from start to finish with great service, wonderful wine options, delectable food and an amazing chef! The coziness of the space is reminiscent of Europe and only adds to the experience.

Chef Ana delivers an exceptional menu with high quality ingredients. Honestly, that paella is the absolute best paella that I've ever had in my life. I also thoroughly enjoyed the seafood casserole with large, high quality prawns and mussels. I'd order both of these dishes again in a heartbeat. I loved interior design aesthetic. Great service, too! With all of this said, I really struggled with the environment. I'm the size of a peanut, and I felt like a tall person crammed into a coach class airline seat. Tight quarters, loud music with poor acoustics, cold drafts, and enough smoke coming from the kitchen to make my eyes sting for the duration of my meal. As a result, I would highly recommend ordering carry out if you're at all prone to sensory overload. To be sure, the cuisine at Cavas receives a solid 5 stars from me. Easy. Fantastic, high quality food with near perfect preparation and presentation. Hat's off to Chef Ana and her team here. Because of these challenges with the environment, however, I'm landing on a 4 star review instead of 5.

Made reservations for 7 on Friday, had drinks and three tapas with a date, and found that it was plenty for dinner. The manchego, the mushrooms, and the stuffed pimiento were all served with bread, so a little on the filling side. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. Atmosphere was welcoming, music was nice - enough to mask other conversations, but not too loud to interfere with ours — and seating was a little cramped but comfortable. Service was very good - attentive but not intrusive.

We were early but they greeted us so warmly & we also got seated early. Just the atmosphere we wanted - so intimate & cozy! Our 3 generation girls’ trip to Spain was cancelled due to a health issue and the ambiance here along with the “muy rica” food & beverages & opportunity to speak Spanish with friendly attentive staff was at least a sample of España. So glad we found it!

Great service, great food, great experience. I can't say enough about the food and service here. Wonderful chef and sraff. You can feel the passion and love the owner puts into every dish!! Highly recommended to anyone that is looking for a special place to try. I will be back!!

Our server may have been new. I’m trying to give the benefit of the doubt. As a foursome we ordered four appetizers and one $80 paella special to share. She apparently misunderstood and we ended up with two $80 paella specials. It was way too much food and you would think a decent server would have known that. Nothing other than an apology was offered. We ended up having to pay for an entire $80 special that we did not even order. Our combined bill should have been just over $200 and instead was $300. Terribly disappointing. We will never go back.

I absolutely love this restaurant. Chef Ana is so gracious and talented and her staff are incredible. I never would have guessed that our beautiful waitress was new. The food was mouthwatering delicious And we Can’t wait to come back.

I LOVE Cavas. This is my favorite Milwaukee restaurant. The food of course is fantastic, but so are the people who work there and Chef Ana is a doll. The restaurant has such an intimate atmosphere and the service is incredible. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I will always recommend it. This place is a class act not just for the food, but for the way it’s run. Everything has a story as well.
