Inspirés par un voyage en Italie fait en 2008, les chefs Ryan et Arturo sont heureux de vous présenter le Catania, nouveau membre de la famille Whisknladle Hospitality. Le restaurant sert une cuisine simple, saisonnière et authentique provenant de la côte italienne (très loin des adaptations italiennes de la cuisine tex-mex que vous trouvez dans la plupart des autres endroits). Our waiter did a fantastic job, as did the entire staff which worked like a well-oiled machine to ensure that we were well taken care of from the moment we entered the door until the moment we left. This was our second time at Catania, and on this occasion as well as the previous one: the food was both quite tasty and filling. The only disappointment to me on the food front was that when we ordered bread to start with, the focaccia style bread that came out (in the shape of a pizza) was a bit difficult to cut, and the flavors didn't really do it for us. On the other end of the spectrum, the crudo that we had as an appetizer was nothing short of superb.....and the focaccia, which we didn't so much enjoy as a dish by itself, ended up being the perfect accompaniment with which to soak up all the delicious crudo sauce. Thank you to the entire Catania team for an excellent night

Best experience in a long time. Great food and atmosphere. The best part was the service, Bob you are the best keep up the amazing job. Bob really went above and beyond. He genuinely cared about our happiness with the every part of our meal. Nothing was too small and he was willing to go above and beyond to make us 100% satisfied. We are locals and will be back.

Like many of the sub-par reviews I am rating mainly on the experience with the management and staff. I made a reservation several weeks ago and when I arrived at the hostess desk I politely asked that we be seated outside. The manager stepped in and curtly said there is no outside seating, grabbed three menus and commanded my party to follow him to an inside table in the corner. This was our first impression of the restaurant. I would have expected him to offer us the opportunity to wait or even consider canceling. The service was extremely slow at the table we were seated at while most of the focus was on the outside tables. The food was also average. My guess is that our experience may have been completely different if we were at one of the tables outside. If you decided to go to this restaurant, make sure to note that you would like to sit outside if it is important to you.

Solid all around. Good mixologist. Two things, perhaps specific to a New Yorker, the pizza is soft and doughy not that hot crispy goodness that is pizza in NY, second, how can an Italian restaurant not serve bread? I had octopus appetizer and it was super but it screamed for bread. Anyway, nice place.
