Inspirés par un voyage en Italie fait en 2008, les chefs Ryan et Arturo sont heureux de vous présenter le Catania, nouveau membre de la famille Whisknladle Hospitality. Le restaurant sert une cuisine simple, saisonnière et authentique provenant de la côte italienne (très loin des adaptations italiennes de la cuisine tex-mex que vous trouvez dans la plupart des autres endroits). L'engagement envers l'authenticité est évident dans l'utilisation de fours et de grills au bois, dans la carte des vins entièrement italienne ainsi que dans la liste des bières artisanales italiennes (oui, l'Italie possède un incroyable mouvement de bière artisanale dont personne n'a entendu parler).

The staff was so professional, and the food is amazing! Celebrated my daughter’s birthday here it was perfect from the cocktails & appetizers to the main courses which we all shared! The tall booth made it so private and nice for our group of 5!

I requested a table with ocean view and it was a high top. The hostess gladly changed our table no trouble. Beautiful restaurant. Great ambiance. Excellent server Valerie gave special attention and knew it waa my birthday. For example when I said I didn’t want dessert she brought out complimentary after dinner drinks with a candle. Food excellent. Pizza was delicious. I had the ziti Genovese which was short rib mushroom and parm cheese. Excellent! Highly recommend

Our server was amazing at her job. She was educated about the food items and gave us recommendations and options when we asked. Tuna crudo was amazing. The pizza crust was nice and crispy and the pasta was delicious. Would 100% recommend.

Best Italian food we’ve enjoyed in a long time and best restaurant we ate at during our La Jolla trip! Only critique was being sat VERY close to two other couples where we could hear every work they murmured.

Excellent food and service. It was one of our guest’s birthday and they even printed Happy Birthday on the menu which was super nice. Thank you for a great dining experience!

Our waiter did a fantastic job, as did the entire staff which worked like a well-oiled machine to ensure that we were well taken care of from the moment we entered the door until the moment we left. This was our second time at Catania, and on this occasion as well as the previous one: the food was both quite tasty and filling. The only disappointment to me on the food front was that when we ordered bread to start with, the focaccia style bread that came out (in the shape of a pizza) was a bit difficult to cut, and the flavors didn't really do it for us. On the other end of the spectrum, the crudo that we had as an appetizer was nothing short of superb.....and the focaccia, which we didn't so much enjoy as a dish by itself, ended up being the perfect accompaniment with which to soak up all the delicious crudo sauce. Thank you to the entire Catania team for an excellent night
