Join us for Special Mother's Day Supper 4 course menu from noon until 5pm at Cassava, $78/guest with spring flavors including: Brunch Favorites "Jewelry Box" (Family Style Assortments) -baby croissants with house berry jam -deviled eggs, trout roe, house shichimi -mini buckwheat pancakes, Meyer lemon curd -yogurt parfait, house almond streusel granola Starters to share, choice of main and dessert. First time dine at this new location for Mother’s Day brunch , little disappointed. Serving plates are chipped. Food quality not what I expected.

Thank you for visiting us for our Mother's Day brunch. Many of our plates have been part of our story since we opened on Balboa Street back in 2012. Most are still in great condition, but a few show a little wear, testimony of how many we have served over the years. We want all of our guests be to be delighted and I apologize that we did not meet our usual standards for your experience. Cassava is a lovely spot in North Beach that offers modern American style with European and fine dining touches. Excellent choice for brunch, lunch or date night dinner, with very professional service.

Service was great. Food was bland, lasagna was disappointing. It tasted like it was made a long time ago and reheated in the microwave.

I was your server and I thank you so much for your encouraging feedback. It was delightful to have you with us. We are aware that we serve people with a wide range of palates. I was so glad to bring crushed chili and calabrian chili paste as you requested, to help tailor the dishes to your taste. Had you asked me at the table, I would have been glad to let you know we make the lasagna fresh. Our kitchen also has two under-stove convection ovens and a large combination convection oven and steamer. We have no need for a microwave.

Was able to get a last minute reservation and it was an amazing experience the selection on the menu was outstanding for brunch and they had excellent cocktails. Cant wait to go back here

I passed by this place, and knew I had to come try! I had the 4-course menu during SF Restaurant Week, an amazing selection of their menu. Each plate is amazing, good ingredients paired in a creative and tasty way. We sat at the bar and one of the owners was super kind, explaining the menu.

First time visiting Cassava in the new-ish North Beach location. Went for brunch during restaurant week and did the set menu which was great. The portions are hearty so keep that in mind. Good place to share some things. One of the owners was working that day and she was very helpful and informative. Good wine list.

We went for the SF Week restaurant and the food was cold. We also waited for the prime rib for about 20 minutes and it was cold as well the starters. We were disappointed but the service was good.

Went for Restaurant Week. Delightful time…appreciated the choices, and staff treated us as though we ordered the most expensive items. They even had a special dessert and card for our birthday girl. Wife of chef was charming host.

Yuka and team provided such a scrumptious brunch (with friendly and attentive service) on Saturday morning that I came back on Sunday with yet again another friend who loved the food and service too! The Spring 2024 Restaurant Week brunch menu is a great value, with generous starters for each guest that included salmon-avocado over hashbrowns, light & flaky croissants, deviled egg, and pancakes. I had to order their delicious fried chicken too - tender, crispy, and yummy!

Overall the experience was mid. Food was okay but a little lacking in flavor. The interior is a bit disconnected. The bar area is very elegant and so are the chairs but the tables are like outdoor cafe tables. I’d still recommend it if you cannot book a different restaurant. It’s worth the price

Easter supper was delicious! I loved the shareable appetizers and the salmon was perfectly prepared—I always love the fish dishes here. Can’t wait to come back for the 5-course tasting menu!

Excellent food, deftly executed with flexibility in menu selections (tasting menu, 3-course or Ala carte) and friendly service. Nice to know that they have weekend brunch with a varied menu that includes a Japanese breakfast. Will definitely be back. Lovely location too right on Columbus in North Beach- good for people watching.

Excellent food! We chose Cassava for family visiting from out of town. Service was friendly and patient as we were talking and catching up. Standouts are the duck leg confit, salmon and all of the desserts. We’ll be back!

It took a very very long time to get our food. We ordered the bread basket and never got that. I forgot to have them take it off the bill.

Service was excellent. Appetizer and main courses were fantastic. But desserts were quite underwhelming, particularly the poached pears. But overall it was wonderful. We loved the space and the staff.

Went for Sunday brunch the day after St Patrick’s Day. Surprised that there weren’t many people in the restaurant but the service was wonderful, the food was good and we were seated in a window looking out on Columbus Street on a beautiful day.

Yuka and Kris are wonderful hosts. The attention to detail to the food and ingredients is outstanding. The food is consistently excellent. The staff are attentive and cheerful ambassadors of Cassava. Their location in the heart of North Beach is a great addition to the neighborhood.

Food and drinks were overpriced. Chickory salad lacked seasoning. Flatbread turned out to be nothing more than cold foccacia. Dishes did not arrive as ordered. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

Food and service were outstanding! We split the croque madame and French toast along with a lovely bottle of Sauvignon blanc and they were all amazing. I would have licked the tarragon condensed milk off the plate if I thought no one was looking. The fabulous staff let us linger outside enjoying a sunny San Francisco Sunday after brunch while they got ready for dinner. Will definitely be back!

My wife and I had never been to Cassava but took a risk when friends visiting from Chicago asked for eatery recommendations. We loved it. Each of us gave the food, atmosphere, and service high marks. We will be back.

The wait staff was attentive and helpful. The food was below expectations given the associated expense making for an overall disappointing experience. The basics were missed - fries were warm not hot, mussels & broth lacked flavor, bread on avocado toast was super dense, fried chicken tender and aioli were fine. Would not return nor recommend.

The food was disappointing and lacking in flavor. The paired drink menu was way too expensive for the tiny pours. Over all the waiter was the best experience but was sad to realize for the cost we would have enjoyed a more flavorful meal somewhere else at a fraction of what was charged. To pay 25% on top of the entire price of which $170 was alchol totaling less than a bottle of wine felt Like we were taken advantage of

Thank you for coming and mentioning our amazing servers. We get a lot of feedback about our flavors, mostly positive, but we serve a wide range of people with different palates. We are always willing to give additional seasoning to help tailor our dishes to your taste. Beverage pairing for our set menus are a ⅔ pour per drink. Gratuity included in the total is 20%, not 25% as you claimed above. We want all our guests to be well cared for, and the best way to ensure that is to let us know at the table when you are with us. Since we learned of your disappointment afterwards through your review, please contact us with the details of your reservation and we will work with you to make it right.
