The food is bland but some of it is yummy, maybe it was just the time we went. The restaurant has the most uncomfortable chairs you can imagine, and I felt like the price was a bit too much for the small proportions of items. Service was good, but the noise level was horrendous.

The complimentary chips and salsa arrived shortly after we were seated. The chips were thin, crisp and fresh. The salsa was flavorful. We should have stopped there. I ordered chicken fajitas. The chicken was flavorless and as dry as cardboard. The onions and peppers could have been grilled a bit more. The black beans were cold, as was the rice. We had asked for a refill on the salsa that would have helped, but it never arrived. The other person ordered tacos. One was a cold pork-like paste and the other was similarly unseated chicken. To their credit, they took the tacos off the bill, but we left unsatisfied in every respect. Uncle Julio’s and Guapos are nearby. There is absolutely no reason to go to Casa Oaxaca.

Terrific margaritas and really good food, festive atmosphere! Only concern on this visit was that it was a little windy and there was a plastic curtain blowing around that we feared would hit a patron.

A very warm and welcoming atmosphere, and so colorful. We loved the outdoor seating arrangements, accommodating our party of 7, including kids. Our server was very friendly and attentive. My husband and I really appreciated that we were seated at our reserved table a few minutes before my son and family arrived, and served our drinks and chips and salsa while we waited. Food was delicious. It all made for a wonderful evening out with the family.

Service was subpar. We were willing to spend more money however the waiters were few far and in between. There was at a minimum a wait of about 30-40 minutes each, before we were asked if we wanted anything else. Finally after never receiving a food item we asked for about 45 minutes later, we decided to call it a night. So unfortunate as we are patrons that enjoy spending money and tipping very well. All we ask for is consistent customer service and intentional hospitality. We will not return. Thank you

If you are really looking for Mexican taste, do not come here. Casa Oaxaca sells Central American food with Mexican names. If you decide to name your restaurant with one of the most traditional states in Mexico, the least you can do it is offer authentic Mexican dishes. Just because you name your dishes over Mexican favorites recipes, it doesn’t mean you are cooking and selling Mexican food. Mexican food was maned cultural heritage of humanity because its flavor and authenticity, some recipes have hundreds of years and they deserve some respect.

Worst Mexican food in memory. Chicken tacos served as follows: small amount of dried out diced grilled chicken squares on tough dry corn tortilla with a few pieces of diced grilled onions. No cheese, no sliced lettuce, no tomatoes, no cilantro. Flavorless. Absolutely dreadful. Waitress cleaned table beside us with stinky disinfectant that made our dinner smell like it was being served in a bathroom. Wanted to gag. Waitstaff was very attentive and nice. But overall a terrible experience. And I never do these ratings so that should tell you something. Too many other good superior choices.

The food, service and ambience were all “chef kiss”. They have a very friendly bartender, who makes amazing margaritas. The bar seating is limited, however, I’m definitely going back.

The food is good authentic Mexican food. Service was good. Rated this a 3 overall because I couldn’t enjoy the company I was with due to the table next to me with the extremely annoying barking dog. If you are going to allow dogs in your restaurant there should be rules around behavior. Ruined our evening honestly.

We dined outside for lunch and were promptly served drinks while we waited for the rest of our party of 6. The waitress and waiter were attentive and our food was ready fairly quickly. Everyone really liked their tacos, enchiladas and side dishes. I had lunch here a few days earlier with a friend who had never tried the cuisine of Oaxaca. She was impressed and decided she wants to go to Oaxaca to take a cooking class! I particularly liked the chicken mole enchiladas and mushroom tacos. They were out of chapulines this time, but that is another great taco you won't find at many Mexican restaurants. This is my fifth time eating here and I will return even though it is quite long ride for me to get to Bethesda.
