Chef Gabriela Lopez brings her elevated Mexican cuisine to Downtown La Mesa. Using her grandmother's recipes from Guadalajara crossed with her cosmopolitan upbringing in Tijuana, Chef Gabriela's menu features authentic hand-crafted dishes and imaginative takes on classic dishes. Came here for the first time during happy hour. Shared delicious margs (Blanco level good) with a friend, and per our waiters' recommendation, we had the HH nachos and cauliflower. The chips and salsa were very fresh and we enjoyed t everything we tried. We ended the night with Flan, and even though I don't live coconut, it was still tasty. Chris, our waiter was phenomenal and such a delight. Definitely going back.

The Cohn group has created another wonderful restaurant this one with Mexican cuisine. We were a party of six and everybody enjoyed their food, The ambience and the service. We recommend that you reserve a table on the patio.

I wanna start by saying that our service was impeccable the manager on duty and our waiter where outstanding. Although if it wasn’t for the fact that I was very hungry the food was hard to eat, of poor quality, the margarita that my wife ordered had to be sent back it was made Improperly. I know it was Mother’s Day but the restaurant was not particularly busy it seems as if they must have managerial/staffing issues behind the scenes with that being said I will not be returning to dine at this restaurant.

This was our first trip to Casa Gabriella, it did not disappoint. I had been to this location before during other concepts, and I'd have to say this was the most cozy. My wife and I took our mothers for Mother's Day. It was fantastic, I wanted everything on the menu. This was the first time I tried guacamole on a chicharron, it was awesome! I like what I got, but my mom got the corn lasagna, and I was glad I go to help, it was the best dish at our table. We'll definitely be back.

Being that our reservation was on a Saturday it still took a very long time for us to get our food. Our reservation was at 815p, showed up at 820p, got seated and then our server came to us 10-15 mins later to get our drink order. Then we ordered a few appetizers which took 15 mins to come out. Then we ordered our food and we didn’t get our main meal until 920/925p! Keep in mind we had two toddlers that can only last sitting for so long. Good food but took way too long to get our meals. They did offer a free desert but that took another 15 mins to come out. So we didn’t leave the restaurant until 10pm! But their kitchen closed at 9!?? I would recommend if you’re ok with being there for two hours and waiting! If not don’t go!

Out server, David, was the absolute best thing about our experience!! He made awesome recommendations and made the night a much fun. We will continue to come back as long as we can have him again as out server!!
