Casa Amate es el restaurante insignia de Andaz Mayakoba, un espacio muy confortable para disfrutar de una experiencia culinaria única e irrepetible. Residencia de los señores de León, una pareja que viajo por todo el mundo y quiso dejar su legado y sus vivencias dentro de este recinto. Haciendo énfasis en la región latinoamericana.
Casa Amate es latino contemporáneo, con recetas tradicionales de México, centro y Sudamérica pero siempre con el toque de Originalidad que caracteriza a Andaz.
La Casa Amate está dividida en 4 secciones principales:
Estancia, Comedor, librería, Bar Estudio, Además cuenta con terrazas con vista a la laguna, en donde se puede disfrutar de una experiencia inolvidable.

Excellent. This is the best restaurant at Andaz. Hector was a wonderful waiter. Everything from the homemade bread to the Snapper was flavorful and impeccable. We will return for a second time.

Best meal we’ve had in Mayskoba. Duck breast was cooked to perfection. Pork shank in coffee sauce was delicious and tender .

This was by far the best dining experience while we’ve been in Mayakoba. We’ve eaten at all of the resorts in the Mayakoba complex. Casa Amate has the most original food menu and best tasting and most original dishes out of all the restaurants. There is no close second place. A must try if you’re coming to visit Mayakoba

Our server was amazing, but we expected a lot for the food. The oyster and wagyu entree dish was more of an appetizer portion. The meat was chewy and overcooked. We ordered grouper, and it wasn’t anything spectacular. We came here for my wife’s birthday dinner, and there was no acknowledgment. Very expensive for what it is.

Great service and ambience. As for food, the presentation was nice but the taste just met our expectations. Maybe we as patrons were simply having an off night so we’d like to try again. Our server was engaging and well educated on Mexican wines, ingredients in various menu items, etc.. We found the offerings creative.

We loved the ambience. It felt like you were in someone's lovely home. There were several rooms each with only have a few tables, so it was romantic and quiet. Our room had a nice view of the lagoon and the sunset. The bar area, patio little yard were cozy and the mixed drinks were delicious. Service was excellent...timely and professional. The homemade warm bread and butter was excellent. We ordered the tamale, the duck and the red snapper. All were beautifully presented, cooked perfectly, and full of wonderful flavors. The serving sizes were adequate and left us quite full. Our meal finished with a couple of yummy complementary chocolate truffles. It was the best food we had on our trip, If you're from NYC, the prices here won't surprise you, but if you're from a small town, it's pretty expensive. Overall, it's definitely worth the splurge and highly recommended.

The restaurant was fabulous! My only caveat is that we had a lot of trouble gaining access to the grounds. We had made our reservations through Open Table but the hotel had no notice of that. In any case - after calling the restaurant and ultimately gaining access we had a great experience. Truly delicious and lovely.

Nice restaurant inside a hotel area in Mayakoba. Food was interesting and with good ingredients. Unless you are really hungry the suggestion of having a salad and a main dish is too much. We were full and unable to have dessert.

One of the best restaurants in Mayakoba. Food was excellent. Service was above and beyond expectations. I suggest they have flights of tequila or other similar offerings to make experience more interesting. However, the bar/lounge area has the most uncomfortable chairs in Mayakoba. Those should be replaced immediately. The uncomfy chairs almost made me cancel my reservation, as I wondered how good could a place be if these are the chairs in lounge area where people wait.

Unbelievable. Make sure to sit in Francisco’s section for the best recommendations and meal. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately we were not able to sit down at Casa Amate bc they had an issue with the A/C so we were sat at Cocina Milagro. The food experience was incredible. Great food, great service but be prepare to pay!

Beautiful location overlooking the Mayakoba tree line. Our food was well plated, timely and delicious. The wildlife was diverse as we did see a family of spider monkeys cruise by the terrace which was quite exciting. Julio was a phenomenal host and was attentive to every detail of our dining experience.

My daughter spilled her water right when we sat down, and the staff were so kind and reassured her multiple times that it wasn't a big deal. They promptly cleaned it up and brought her a new kids menu to color.

The food was lovely, the waiters were solicitous, but the whole experience was ruined by the palaver of getting into and out of the restaurant. We were not staying as guests at the resort, but rather came across from another hotel a mere 5km away. We used Google Maps to make our directions and it took us to the closest gate to the restaurant, but unfortunately we were turned away by an officious guard who told us to go the main entrance — which involved twice having to pull a U turn on the freeway. At the main entrance, we were made to produce ID, as though we were some kind of criminals, rather than guests who had simply made a dinner reservation. Having confirmed that we were indeed the people who had made the reservation, the guard did allow us entry. The guard then escorted us, on a motorcycle to a holding station where our car was valet parked and we had to await further golf cart transportation to get to Casa Amate, twenty five minutes late due to all this messing around. As I say, the food was nice. I had the foie gras and rack of lamb, my wife the red snapper. The waiters were kind. The ambiance — once we moved to the patio area — was fine. We paid our bill — MXN $4,500 — a premium price for a premium experience. Then escape from Casa Amate started. Escorted back to the holding station, we were reunited with our car, given the sparsest of instructions and sent on our way. We were found wanting. With no signs, poor illumination and a confusing road layout we went up dead ends and into cul-de-sacs. We asked for help on 3 separate occasions before eventually getting to an exit. Once again I was asked for my ID. I informed the guard that we simply wanted to leave and that we were not in prison and eventually, with relief, the barrier was raised and we exited the premises. Hampton Court Maze. Theseus and the Minotaur. Neither were in my mind when I booked. I simply wanted to go out for dinner. Sort your signs guys or stop inviting non resident guests.

This is our second visit. Food is good, unique flavors. Service is very friendly although perhaps a bit inexperienced. Wine is outrageously overpriced as in most Mayakoba restaurants ie $35 Napa is $200, $20 Argentina is $80. Everyone wants you to have a great time, which along with a fantastic setting is enough to bring you back.

I felt as if I were in a NYC bar. A larger routy obnoxious group yelled and screamed as if it were their private living room. Not what I expected from a classy expensive restaurant. Very disappointing that management didn’t tell this group to quiet down, etc. awful experience

We stayed at another property in Mayakoba and were glad we took a ride to the Andaz for dinner at Casa Amate. Staff greeted us warmly, and the setting (distinct dining rooms within a "house") was lovely. It had a much different feel from restaurants we've been to at Rosewood, Banyan & Fairmont -- more akin to a lively city restaurant and quite enjoyable. We wish that small children weren't permitted in this dinner-only restaurant, as it did detract a bit from our amazing gastro experience. The food--from the amuse bouche to the duck breast--was top-notch. Well worth a visit to Andaz from another property.

Our favorite meal in Tulum. Beautiful space, attentive and friendly staff. The food was complex and delicious. We savored every bite. Each one was filled with layers of flavor. The tartare and the duck were the best I've ever had. Cannot recommend enough.

The creativity and flavors of the food is outstanding! I highly recommend the Estofado De Platano, the Yellow Soup, and the Chicken with Grappamiel. Delicious! And the service is excellent!

This was the most horrible experience, do not walk, run away from this restaurant. I was so excited based on the reviews to dine here in one of their beautiful rooms, yet when my party of 3 arrived they proceeded to take us outside to a table that seats 8 people. I was immediately disappointed but the hostess said there were no other tables inside because they had a party of 30 coming. 😒 We then tried to order the short rib and lamb and were told they ran out of those items due to the party of 30 who had preordered their dinners. We were furious that management couldn’t plan accordingly and take care of other guests in smaller parties. The priory for the rest of the evening was the large party, not our table of 3. The food we tried was not very good and the beef tartare was inedible and disgusting. We only ordered it because it was the only red meat on the menu AVAILABLE. It was terrible. Not once did the manager come over to our table even though we kindly expressed our dissatisfaction to our waiter. We eventually asked the manager to come to us. He had very little to say except that he was sorry. Not one thing was taken off our check and we were utterly disappointed with the entire service. It’s crazy how a small party can mean absolutely nothing to a business. Every customer should hold value. We wish we had spent our money at one of the other many amazing places in Playa del Carmen. Don’t waste your time here. Go to Cello at Banyan Tree. Amazing service from beginning to end and the food was impeccable. Casa Amate is one of the worst restaurants and Management that we have ever witnessed and that’s saying something.

Excellent creative dishes. Incredible service in a beautiful restaurant. This is gourmet dining with no attitude in a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend it.
