We had a really good meal at Carriages. Food was all really nice and the service was warm and welcoming. There was a live musician which normally would add to the experience but it was in a smaller area of the dining room so very loud. It made it difficult to hear the servers and each other and we would have preferred a more relaxed and gentle musical backdrop.

The food was tasty and plentiful and service was excellent. The surroundings are stylish and all looked very tidy and clean. It was an intimate setting and I felt too small for live music hence the lower score for ambience. Like most restaurants wines are not cheap. We will go again for our next special celebration.

Really lovely three course meal had by my daughter and myself. The food was fresh and tasty with a good choice on the menu. The staff were really friendly and helpful and a lovely evening was had .

We took my father in law out to Carriages to celebrate his 80th birthday and he had a fantastic time, the staff made it a very special occasion and the whole restaurant joined in to sing happy birthday to him. It made his day. In our opinion Carriages is best restaurant in Luton by a mile. The food is always excellent and the staff are relaxed and friendly and provide brilliant service.

Another lovely meal at Carriages. I took 2 friends who have been very good to me as a treat. They had never been before and they thought the whole experience was fabulous. The choice was great and food delicious, we will be back!

First time at this hotel. Booked an evening meal. Shown to our table. Waiter came across and asked for any drinks. These were brought quickly and no issues. Ordered two main meals from the menu. The meals arrived and my wife has the Rack of lambs and I had the Chicken with mushroom sauce. The meals were excellent, well prepared and hot. We then had a dessert. Excellent service, and meals prepared well and more on the fine dine.

We booked on a Sunday because of a birthday. We didn't realise there was a Sunday lunch menu in place of the a la carte option, but when we checked we were offered the option to choose from either menus although their preference was the Sunday lunch menu. In the end we settled for the Sunday lunch menu, which included fish options for both starter and main (normally a rarity). As two of our party are pescatarians, we were delighted to see this, which swayed us to choose from this menu. The food was delicious, really tasty and the fixed price for Sunday was great value. We will be back on another day to try out the a la carte menu. Thanks to the staff for the excellent service.

Absolutely fantastic meal for my birthday. Food delicious and so well prepared, waitress attentive, helpful but not ‘in your face’. Carrriages is a beautiful setting. Altogether a really lovely experience….we will return. I would give 10 stars if I could! Thank you!

Helpful and friendly staff. Lovely food, well cooked and well presented. We can recommend calamari and squid starters and liver, ribeye, lobster and pizza mains. No room for dessert!

Celebrated my 50th birthday here and had a wonderful night. The staff were friendly and super helpful with choosing what to have off the menu. I even got my dessert for free! Thanks for making it such a special night!

all was fine until some people turned up who were friends of the chef. The beautiful restaurant tone dropped. Really not happy about this, plus we were near the exit door, for which these people were opening and closing, letting the cold air in to go for a smoke. my marks are for the for, service etc, which was let down be these people. did ask to stop them going in and out, for which a quiet word was given. such a shame these people let the tone down. would recommend Carriages for everything else.

Have dined here 3 times in the past few weeks, on each occasion the food has been absolutely outstanding! Sunday lunch was also 10/10. Staff are wonderful- a real hidden gem in Luton.

My poorly father wanted to come and have Sunday lunch at Carriages and it didn't disappoint. It's more a place to go for a treat and eating out with my Dad is now a treat. We both enjoyed both courses and my Dad loved his wine choice. The service was excellent - the female waitress was personable, friendly and very good at her job. The male was polite and professional; he could have been a bit more friendly and interactive but that is the only negative. Thank you Carriages - we will be back!

Really lovely meal and excellent service the outside area was quite busy and there was a lovely atmosphere. Inside was beautifully set out but there were only a few people eating inside which was a shame. The whole place was sparkling clean. There is a beautiful function room and I would recommend people to go and test the meals and see what a lovely hotel it is.

We’d not been before but we shall be back! Really interesting menu of beautiful food. It’s a place to go for a special occasion, rather than a quick family outing, but in our experience it trumps Luton Hoo for quality and price!

After being greeted promptly and seated, our drinks and food order was taken. Our food arrived after just 15min, it was hot, tasty and a good portion. My son wasn't feeling too well so we asked whether he could have some tomato soup (It was not on the menu) the chef catered to our request. Fantastic service, great food. Highly recommended.
