We placed drink orders with our waiter. About 15 or 20 minutes later he came back for our order. We ordered an appetizer and specified before our meal. We also ordered our entrees. At about 30 minutes the cocktails arrived. 5 minutes later the entrees arrived. We were wondering what Happened to enjoying an appetizer and cocktail. We canceled the appetizer. The manager generously offered us the same discount we would have received as theater ticket holders. He also offered not to charge us for the appetizer that we were never served. Basically one of the worst dining experiences we have had all year

Our server was lovely. Not super knowledgeable on the menu but a nice experience with him. Apps were pretty standard and good. Main dishes of the steak and the mahi were legit bad. Somehow both very bland. Asked for some chimmichurri sauce for the side twice and never came so just added salt and pepper to the steak.

LOVE Caroline. My brother came In to town for lunch and really enjoyed it too. The only thing is the Austin parking during the week… the garage he parked in cost as much as lunch! 😭 I’m happy lunch was amazing. 🤗 Thank you. 🙏

Brought in a group of 9 people -- waiter was extremely polite, professional and accommodating. Drinks were brought quickly, entrees were delivered as ordered (I hate the all-call "who had the pasta with chicken?"), food was delicious. Would absolutely recommend!!

We wanted a fairly quick but not rushed meal before the Paramount. Our waiter David, met those needs completely. Drinks were ordered and arrived promptly with some chips and corn dip to share. Delicious Entrees followed in acceptable timing, bills presented when asked for! The Salmon Miso was perfect! Great before theatre experience !

Overall it was a good dinner. We got the sweet corn appetizer and chili bowl as well as chicken schnitzel. The plates were all excellent and we would definitely recommend to friends

Very underwhelmed with the food. Poor acoustics made it quite noisy too. With so many better choices in the area I can not recommend.

Food was very good and outstanding! Service was less than ideal. We only had water for our beverage and had to ask for a refill and to leave the carafe on the table. Would certainly come back and try other entries for a special treat. We had the salmon and chicken schnitzel with both being excellent choices! I want to try the chicken enchiladas next. It looked delicious!

Overall we had a good experience. I was dining with my groomsmen who were staying in the Aloft. The food was amazing. The service, however, was lacking. We had been seated for an hour before we saw our food. The salad was delivered with the meal, and the waitress checked on us only twice. Many times, we were looking for her. We had to ask another server to get our check when we finished. This doesn't discourage me from returning because I've been to Caroline many times and had amazing service. I truly believe this was an isolated incident with this particular waitress.

The dinner was truly delicious and the service was spot on. This was a pre-theater meal on a crowded Friday night and everything flowed perfectly. The mushroom bolognese pasta is so satisfying and yummy.

This is a quiet oasis in the mash of downtown Austin. I have not been in downtown Austin since 2019 and it has changed substantially. Caroline serves a superb breakfast, smoothie start and then down to business with a ham and cheddar omlet with has browns. Great service and laid back vibe. Highly recommended!

Didn’t receive silverware until after food was delivered. Seemed understaffed. Finally got a pepper shaker that worked after 3 attempts. Server was polite. Just wearing too many hats. He was also stocking bar & helping kitchen

Wonderful evening at Caroline’s. Our server was lovely and efficient. My husband and I ordered the tuna tacos for an appetizer and I had the hamburger and he had the mushroom pasta. Both delicious. Our friends had deviled eggs, the tomato salad, mahi al pastor plus 3 other mushroom pasta. All was delicious. Would love to go back and try some other dishes.

We were visiting Austin and chose this one evening as it came recommended. We ate outside and were approached by multiple homeless people who asked up for money while dining. My wife’s food was fine but I ordered a steak medium and it came well done. The waitress agreed and they made me another but that steak was also well done.

We had a great dinner at Caroline! The starters - ahi tacos and crab artichoke dip - were flavorful and well portioned. Our main dish selections were also delicious; a highlight was the enchilada dish. We were so glad we decided to order dessert … the peanut butter pie was rich and easy to share. Our waiter, Walter, was attentive and had great suggestions. The one and only “con”, if you can even call it that, is that the restrooms are on another floor and confusingly located, but it didn’t lessen the overall experience. What a great spot!

Maybe I just went during the wrong time but nothing to really write home about. Great location and good food, I had the Waygu Berger which was tasty but the fries were hopefully better yesterday. I would grab a burger to go if ever in the mood.

I had the schnitzel chicken with tres leches for dessert. The chicken was absolutely delicious! It was juicy and flavorful. The dessert was the perfect texture and the fluffy frosting was like a light sweet cream. Caroline never disappoints!

Loved our meal & service. My partner had their burger which was cooked perfectly to his taste (medium rare) and I had the citrus & beet salad & had them add steak which was excellent as well. It was a bit loud in there which was disappointing for a date but the service & food was great.

I came with a group of 5, I ordered the miso-glazed salmon, it was in a salty broth and the salmon was overcooked, tough, and did not taste good. The Miso glaze was flavorless. Two people ordered the burger and said it was cooked as ordered, but the fries were sparse and a little too salty. We picked it for the happy hour and location to a show, but found out that after arrival you have to sit in the bar and we had elderly parents and bar seating would not work.

Went here with some friends that were visiting from out of town. I’ve been to caroline’s upstairs, but wanted to try the restaurant. We sat outside for dinner and were approached by a homeless man. Taking into consideration that this restaurant is right on south congress, it wasn’t that out of pocket. The waiter was very nice and offered to move us inside but we decided to stay outside. The food was great. We got the corn dip and the crab artichoke dip to start and they were both delicious. The drinks were good and strong. We got the sangria and the watermelon margarita, which were both refreshing. Would go back but just sit inside next time.

Service was decent. Food looked and tasted good. The burgers were slightly undercooked (ordered med well and they were closer to med rare). My speak with chimmichurie was very good. Prices were very fair.

The atmosphere at Caroline is trendy yet comfortable. The service is very good, the waitstaff is friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Our Friday night favorite is the Wagyu burger served with lettuce, tomato, cheese and fries. The requested internal temperature is always correct.

Overrated and small menu. They were out of at least 2 dishes so it was even more limited. They are trying to be trendy but there was nothing exceptional to it.
