If you are looking for excellent diner food, The Carnegie Diner is the place to go. The ambience is fun and lively and therefore the noise level is a bit high. We had sandwiches, burgers, soup, salads and everyone loved their meal. We all thought the fries were fantastic. The prices are fairly high, expect to spend about $30 per person, but you’ll have fun and really enjoy the food. We are there after the symphony one night and went back the next day for lunch because we enjoyed it so much.

Wonderful pre-theatre dining experience! Excellent food and service! Highly recommendation if attending shows at the Winter Garden or Gershwin theatres!

Stupidly rushed from start to finish with mains being brought out whilst my wife was still eating her starter! Why? Yet no concern shown when they brought them out, he just put them down and left. Our server didn’t understand me well and made it hard to order or ask for something thereafter. The food came out and wasn’t hot either. Mashed potato only warm and my wife’s pasta just sat there as it was brought out far too early. She didn’t enjoy it at all. The salmon was perfectly cooked and tasted good. But overall, not impressed with service or being rushed to eat and leave and yet still felt pressured to tip afterwards. We wanted to enjoy it but didn’t get that experience. I do not understand why they felt it was ok to bring out mains when we’d not even finished the starter. Weird.

My sister had the lobster roll and enjoyed it. We both had margaritas that were good. I had the pork chop, and while the presentation was very nice, the Brussels sprouts were undercooked and the pork chop was so thick I couldn’t cut it. Got tired trying to, so gave up and ate the mashed potatoes. Kind of an expensive mashed potatoes dinner at $29! The bathrooms need better care. Would we go back? Possibly. Would I order the same thing? No!

I was really looking forward to eating here. I was very disappointed. The food was terrible and the waiter was more interested in checking out his tips than providing service.
