Carne Mare is an Italian chophouse by Chef Andrew Carmellini offering prime cuts of steaks, fine seafood, and Italian specialties. The menu by Chef Carmellini and Chef della Cucina Levi Raines begins with fine seafood, cocktails, oysters, traditional antipasti, salads and carpaccio. Entrées include housemade pastas, seafood and, of course, the main attraction: prime-aged beef, wagyu and prime rib, served with a selection of steakhouse contorni.

The only items that were good were the two pasta options. Steaks were mediocre, prime rib was chewy, other steaks lacked flavor. Definitely not worth the price they charge. Extremely loud, could hardly hear others at our table.

Service was slow and rude. The menu is extremely limited and has pork included in so many dishes. Only two pasta entrees, both with pork. I will not return.

Our dinner was absolutely perfect. The food was delicious and ambience was perfect. Our server, Key, topped the night off to make it the most memorable dinner.

Good food with some inspired selections. Unfortunately, service was mediocre bordering on condescending. Wrong wines delivered, kitchen instructions not followed, items forgotten, loud, and cold (like need a jacket inside). High expectations, sadly unmet.

Sat at the bar and the bartender was very informative - awesome suggestions - and friendly. It was a great meal and quieter than the dining room. Definitely will be back!

They attempted to squeeze 6 large people into a booth. The dining room table areas are not set up for parities more than 4 to a table. They have a mixture of square and small round tables that can’t be placed together. The staff, including the host were put out that we wanted to change to a table for 6 people. The steak was over cooked.

I’ve been to Carne Mare 5 times now and the food is always incredible, however, the wait staff disappears routinely throughout the night - especially after the main course is served. I’ve only ever been able to order 2 drinks during my visits but would’ve always loved 3-4. Pretty frustrating when spending so much money.

Hands down my new favorite restaurant in Nashville. We celebrated our 20th anniversary here and had a perfect experience from start to finish. Our server, Macy, was amazing…all of her recommendations were spot on. Food was incredible…the Gorgonzola Wagyu with lobster tail, broccolini, mushrooms, chocolate cake…oh my! Perfection! Will recommend to everyone and will definitely be back.

We had steak and pasta and it was wonderful. The sides were equally great and honestly I could have made a meal of the broccolini. mushrooms, and potatoes along with the great Caesar salad and bread. This continues to be a favorite.

My husband and I came to Carne Mare 3 years ago for Valentine’s Day and we were blown away by the food. We talked about the red snapper and ribeye for three years, haha! So when we closed on selling our house and my sister-in-law got a new job, we came here again with family to celebrate. It lived up to the expectations and more. Everything was outstanding!! The drinks were phenomenal; the crab lettuce cups packed a ton of flavor, and the red snapper melted in my mouth just like it did the first time! The ribeyes were also incredible, and the sautéed mushrooms made it even more exquisite.

This is probably my favorite steak house in Nashville proper. The food is fresh, served at correct temperature, and always seasoned well. The service is always great (Tracy is the best!). We will be back for sure!

This is one of my favorite restaurants, but when they advertise a brunch menu INCLUDING certain options, then there should be more than just those two options. It really wasn't an Easter brunch. Also, service was very slow, my drink was wrong (and I went to the bartender myself to get it fixed because the waitress said it was correct), and overall disappointing. They should not do brunch if they are not really prepared for it.

My hubs and I celebrated our anniversary at Carne Mare. We arrived early and had a couple of delicious cocktails at the bar. We ordered the spicy crab lettuce wraps, shrimp cocktail, and Spanish octopus. For mains I ordered the halibut steak and my husband had the Kansas City striploin. We had the potatoes rustica and the broccolini for our sides. The food was fantastic, and the entrees were large portions. The potatoes might have been the best I’ve ever had 🙂. Honestly one of the best meals we’ve had in Nashville - will definitely be visiting again!

We had the most friendly, personable, respectful, knowledgeable and outgoing waiter, Tracy, who took the time to listen, share and make my birthday dinner memorable! The food was served in a timely yet patient order so that conversation and fellowship were respected and allowed. The presentation was impeccable and the taste delicious. You have to remove yourself from the idea of chain restaurants and appreciate the taste and flavor of the chef’s experience and expertise to truly appreciate the art and flavor of the food. If you can do that then you will enjoy the entire experience. I would highly recommend asking for Tracy to make the most of your meal!

Good, not great for the price point. The foie and carb starters were lacking. The foie was overwhelmed by the truffles. The Ceasar and wedge salads were both a disappointment. The steak was great. The potatoes were good. Overall, though, we were underwhelmed given the price.

My husband and I decided to celebrate our 30th Anniversary at Carne Mare. We were greeted very kindly. Our server, Aubrey, was kind and attentive. We shared a delicious Caesar Salad, my husband ordered the Veal and said it was very good. I ordered the Prime Rib and it also was so good. The desserts were unbelievable Chocolate Cake. I was so touched when Chef Shane came out to Congratulate us on our Anniversary. We were treated like a celebrity!! Atmosphere, all of it was a very memorable night! Thank you to all the staff from the Host, our server, food runners and bar tender, we were so touched!

I wanted to order lamb which is one of the reasons we went to the restaurant but our server said that it was tough and not to order it, which I appreciated. My husband's steak was ok, the salad was good and my tuna tartare was decent. We would not go back as we did not think the food was worth the money we paid.
