Carne Mare is an Italian chophouse by Chef Andrew Carmellini offering prime cuts of steaks, fine seafood, and Italian specialties. The menu by Chef Carmellini and Chef della Cucina Levi Raines begins with fine seafood, cocktails, oysters, traditional antipasti, salads and carpaccio. Entrées include housemade pastas, seafood and, of course, the main attraction: prime-aged beef, wagyu and prime rib, served with a selection of steakhouse contorni.

First and foremost the Service was excellent! Dining area is extremely loud… Food was less than expected…Filet was unevenly cooked with 1/2 of it rare and the other 1/2 medium…short rib ravioli was cool and lacked flavor…potatoes however were very good. As we spent our dining time in conversation, I didn’t realize we both were underwhelmed with the food aspect of our experience until the drive home…

We’ve live in Nashville for almost 3 years now and most recently lived in downtown Chicago. We are constantly homesick for the food and service of Chicago restaurants. Carne Mare was hands down our best experience in Nashville so far. The service was excellent and the food was even better. We enjoyed the filet, 2 specials (scallops and spicy spaghetti with lots and lots of lobster in it) and the pappardelle. For apps we had the mozz with caviar and the crab lettuce wraps.

Probably one of my favorite restaurants in Nashville. I’ve been here for about 3 or 4 times and it never disappoints. The food, cocktails, service and waiters are top tier.

Third time there and it is definitely a high end dining experience. The specials included scallops which were the best I’ve ever had. The steak was the only thing that was not amazing. It was overcooked a bit and a little dry. I have had steak here the other two times and it was great. We also ordered the crab and it was incredible. There was a big party of people at a table near us that was extremely loud and that wasn’t great. We sat at a high top near the bar. We will definitely be going back.

The only items that were good were the two pasta options. Steaks were mediocre, prime rib was chewy, other steaks lacked flavor. Definitely not worth the price they charge. Extremely loud, could hardly hear others at our table.

We had an excellent experience at Carne Mare. The level of service was exceptional. Our server had a phenomenal memory from our previous times dining there and delivered top notch service to match the incredible food.

Service was slow and rude. The menu is extremely limited and has pork included in so many dishes. Only two pasta entrees, both with pork. I will not return.
