Our server was wonderful. The food was mediocre at best. We made the reservation based upon the Open Table reviews. The best part of the dinner was the glass of wine. Very disappointed.

Nice jewel of a place outside of busy downtown Ann Arbor. We were celebrating a graduation and didn’t want to be around the large masses that central Ann Arbor sometimes has. Kaylee was our server and she was top notch and pleasant. There were 7 of us and all enjoyed the food. From burgers,pasta and salmon, everyone was very happy from how it tasted to the size of the portions! However a lot of clean plates! Enjoyed the desserts too, flourless chocolate cake - amazing… and the carrot cake did not fall short! We were seated in the back room which I would think for overflow crowd- music was smooth sounding but a tad too loud- we were an only table left so it seemed amplified. Other than that- would highly recommended!

We always like to go to Carlyle Grill when we are visiting U Mich but this time we had a reservation for 7:00PM and on the menu it states Rotisserie Chicken can only be ordered after 6PM so I ordered it and they sais they ran out. In one hour? Then my daughters puttenesca pasta can with everything except the pasta. How do you forget the pasta in a pasta dish. Anyway I thought someone would come over and apoigize as the rest of uis had to wait until they re made it. But still will go back

Our waitress Kaitlin was amazing! It was very busy and as first time guest she took her time and answered all our questions. What really capped our experience following dinner, she gave us a complimentary dessert (carrot cake) to share on the house! The cake was one of the best we’ve had.

First timers - loved it. Great service, great food, cool setting. Had a reservation, seated immediately upon arriving. Will be back to sit outside on the patio once warmer. My girlfriend commented best caesar salad in a while. Cheers!

The food was very delicious and the portions were good. I loved the shrimp cakes. What stood out for me was I was able to modify the entree item to my liking and in asking for a side of vegetables, they were fresh and a enjoyable mix; not mushy and not just one or two types. Also, as a single diner, I was treated very nicely by the seating at a table in the patio with others; not isolated in a dark corner. And all-in-all, very reasonable. Highly recommended!

Our Easter lunch here was wonderful. The food for our group of 5 was greatly enjoyed by all and our waiter Juan Z was excellent. He was professional and friendly plus very attentive to our needs. The Best that we have had here.

The Carlyle is a beautiful restaurant on a side of town with few good restaurants. Unfortunately, the food is so-so, over salted pasta and soggy Caesar’s salads. Our waiter was awful, timing horrible. The bright spots were the ambience and the maitre d and managers.

Out of town visitor to Ann Arbor and chose Carlyle Grill based on menu, reviews and price. This was a great find and will return to the Grill if in Arbor gain. They have daily specials as well as regular menu. Everything is homemade and fresh. I chose the old fashion pot roast and it was excellent. My husband enjoyed the pecan chicken.

Had a very nice experience here, celebrating a birthday. All the food was good - we mostly ordered filets, but also had salads, hamburgers, and fish & chips. Portions were very generously sized so there were leftovers to take home. Our server was very nice and answered all questions we had accurately and authentically. We don't live in the area but will return when we are in Ann Arbor again.

Juan was our waiter, and he was wonderful! The food was so yummy! I had the turkey pot pie. So good! All of the food was good! The salmon, the scallop special, the black and Bleu burger was huge and so good! The steak fries was great, and the chicken tenders were awesome! The blacked chicken pasta was to.die for! Totally recommend!

I swear they are probably sick of seeing me I have eaten there so many times lately! This restaurant is the perfect place after a long day at work and you just don't feel like cooking, but you need a hot meal and a nice glass of wine or a great cocktail. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic! She was funny and attentive. We were in and out in an hour and never felt rushed for one second. The food is consistently top notch!

I love this place. I went in with my friend who has a ton of food allergies/sensitivities. The waitress was SO patient answering all my friend's questions and double checking with the kitchen. I was really impressed. And, as always, the food and beverages were fantastic!

Food was excellent and the service from Juan was even better. Restaurant was a little slow on this Tuesday night so not sure what things are like on a busy weekend. But everything was top notch on this evening. Poutine was an interesting appetizer. Elevated approach to the typical pile of fries and gravy. Lasagna special was awesome and enough for 2 to share.

Carlyle is one of our favorite restaurants. Although it can be noisy at peak times, it’s always comfortable, the service has been excellent, & the portions plentiful. We always leave with enough for a second meal. It can get busy and tables can be hard to get as a walk-in at peak times, so making a reservation (Open Table!!) is a good plan, even when they’re not packed.

We were obviously the last table our waitress had before she went home. Could see her rolling silverware by the kitchen. Got our food from another server- my chicken wasn’t blackened like ordered. The cheese on the French onion soup was weird. Sat with empty drinks while waiting for our server to come and check on us. Had to ask a different server and a hostess to get our waitress. They never told her. So we waited even longer before she finally checked on us. We were done eating by this time and ready for the check. The food was great but it would have been nice to have been checked in at all.

With the high rating I expected better preparations. The blackened salmon was not very flavorful, nor were the potatoes or vegetables. Seems like a family supper club and I wouldn’t recommend for business travelers with discerning palates.

Great service. Claire was our server and went above and beyond for our family of 5. Wine by the bottle prices were reasonable. Food arrived in a timely fashion and everything was very good. My wife was thrilled with the gluten free pasta option. We would definitely end another family outing at this restaurant.

Have been a patron of Carlye's for some time, it came out of COVID with some challenges and while it has rebounded significantly it hasn't quite gotten back to exceptional yet. I'm sure it will if it keeps on its current trajectory.
