My name is Vincenzo Porcu as my grandfather, Vincenzo Porcu, who owned two restaurants in Sardinia. I come from Sinnai, a small town in the mountains of Cagliari. I've been working in the restaurant business since I was 14.

The idea of visiting America first came to me when I was 22. Since then, I have been back and forth to NY many times until I decided to stay in LA, where I was able to have many work experiences. It was during a vacation in 2005 to Los Angeles, that ultimately persuaded me to make this my new home. I love Los Angeles and, in some ways, it reminds me of Sardinia. After working for a large family of restaurateurs, the Drago family, 4Sicilian brothers who have many places in this town, I decided to open my Carasau Sardinian Restaurant in Culver City.

Third time there and it was as good if not better that the previous two times. They easily handled our group of eight on Valentines Day evening when the place was packed and everyone in our group raved about their meal. Can’t go wrong here!!!

Last Friday evening, my wife and I returned to Carasau for our fifth time since it opened. Obviously, we like it there very much. I had a special pasta with bottarga prepared by owner Vincenzo followed by the Scallop Special entree. Both dishes were delicious! The scallops were cooked perfectly and came with fregola, the delicious, bead-shaped Sardinian pasta. Carasau is a very classy and special Italian restaurant.

The kitchen needs to work better or timing of dishes. Some food came out cold and steak came out undercooked. I don’t anticipate this restaurant will last.

The most authentic Sardinian food and a friendly and professional staff made my birthday dinner just perfect. I am Sardinian and I miss my island’s food every day, it was such a pleasant surprise to come across this place! Will definitely return, they make pizza too and can’t wait to try it! I would suggest to order the Seada for dessert, it’s delicious and you will not find it anywhere else.

Wonderful restaurant !! The food is delicious and the Sardinian items on the menu are such a fresh change from all the same dishes most Italian restaurants offer. Every single dish we ordered was wonderful ! The staff and the Chef are extremely attentive to you, making sure everything is to your liking. What a gem in the middle of downtown Culver City !! It is definitely on our preferred list for dinners and lunch meetings !!

This restaurant serves very wonderful authentic Sardinian food. The owner came to our table to greet us. The chef also asked if our meals were to our liking. The wait staff was really great. I cannot wait to go back and have the other things on the menu. Anyone hesitating because they don't know what Sardinian food is, if you like Italian, you'll like this, but it's better.

Well, we tried this restaurant on Christmas Eve which may be part of the reason for the following complaints. The bread that they served to us was stale and cold, straight out of the refrigerator. The Misto salad was totally tasteless. The pasta with clam sauce was undercooked, the noodles were very hard, the sauce was lukewarm although the six little clams were totally overcooked. The Bronzini was tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. My Arnold Palmer was sickeningly sweet. However, the wait staff was very attentive and pleasant. Perhaps this was all due to Christmas Eve, however, we shall not return. The manager did come by to ask us how everything was and we said okay because we did not feel like complaining it being Christmas Eve and all.

Service and food are outstanding, you won’t be disappointed. Since day one they’ve treated me like a regular, they know what they’re doing on that end which I greatly appreciate. and the food was very impressive to both sets of guests we’ve taken.

Fantastic food, definitely a different take on Italian food then some of the other local restaurants. The lemon, ricotta ravioli was the star! Short, but reasonably priced, list of wines by the glass. The only thing that fell short slightly was the decor/ambiance...the stark white tablecloths felt a little too formal/dated for a newish restaurant, especially one with a younger feel. Would go back for the ravioli though!!

Any lover of Italian cuisine should try Carasau! It is unique in Los Angeles as it features Sardinian several dishes that you cannot find anywhere else. The chef is fabulous! The wait service is very professional and friendly. My wife and I have been there three times since the restaurant opened and we are returning tonight with two friends who frequented Enjoeat, the previous restaurant at this location. We get the best of both: Enjoeat’s famous thin crust pizza and delicious unique Sardinian cuisine.

Overpriced for what it is but v. good food. Service was friendly but they never brought us out any bread like the other tables. Steak was good but it came out way after our other dishes so that was kinda annoying. I get it's new and they're still working out the kinks so best to return/go in a couple months when they have it all a bit more together.

I've been waiting for a place like this for years...authentic and delicious. Only open for roughly 3 weeks, Carasau definitely delivers on food, service and venue. Tonight I enjoyed their frito misto, Margherita pizza and the Culurgiones di Patate, finished off with their Tiramisu, all prepared perfectly and served with pride. The wine list was unique featuring many Sardinian wines with an affordable price point. They have something good going here and I hope the locals check this place out...my friends and I will definitely be back!!
