Outrageously expensive! I’ve probably eaten at Cara Cara 6-7 times. I recall that it was a bit pricey, but for the views it was worth it. But I won't be going back after a recent lunch for 2 people that cost a ridiculous $180. It broke down as: Cocktails: $21 each x 2 = $42 Marinated carrots + hummus starter: $16 Shrimp Tacos: $23 Branzino entre: $30 Iced Tea = $7 Coffee: $9 x 2=$18 “Wellness Fee” (to cover employee insurance) $4.50 x 2=$9.00 Tax + tip =$22.00 Did you notice the price of the coffee? $9 a cup!!!! And nowhere on the menu does it actually show coffee or the price. They just brining you a cup and smile. And forget about refills. Thank God we didn’t order any bottled water as this probably would have made it $200. The food is average and the cocktails are tasty -- but it's far from fine dining. And why I am I paying for employee insurance? Isn't that the role of the employer? Never again. Farewell Cara Cara from my favorite restaurant list.

Loved it! Beautiful rooftop with lots of shade, great food & drink with many options to choose from, and add the expansive views on top — I will be back.

The food was delicious and it’s hard to beat a rooftop setting. Appreciate that the restaurant emailed early in the day to advise we bring warm clothes—it was hot early but cooked down considerably and its rooftop location meant we did indeed end up using our jackets. The salumi dish was underwhelming, but everything else was delicious, especially the ceviche, the carrots and hummus, and the fried chicken. Cocktails were creative and tasty. Didn’t seems dedicated children’s menu but my daughter got the orchietta and cheese and it was great. They seemed understaffed so service was slow but we’d go back.

Genuinely really loved the food and service here. Everyone we encountered was so nice and accommodating. We had the hummus, burger and fries and the fried chicken, all of which we would definitely order again. My only complaint is that the hummus comes with a very small portion of bread and the carrots that it comes with are very thin (not dip-able) so when the focaccia bread was done we asked for more to finish the hummus and quickly realized they charge for it (which was fine because it was delicious, but I think the appetizer should come with more focaccia OR carrots that you can actually dip in the hummus). The drinks were also delicious (whiskey business and the carajillo) We will be back!

Cara Cara is always a great place to grab a cocktail or lunch on the rooftop or having dinner overlooking the downtown LA skyline. My partner and I love going to the rooftop, we decided to bring friends along. The food was flavorfull, the drinks were great, and the service from Victoria, our service was great! She ensured that we had everything we needed without even having to ask. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others.

The view of Los Angeles at night from the roof is gorgeous. The service is SLOW, the food over-priced and mediocre. And the wine list is a joke. Go there for a drink upstairs but eat someplace else…

focaccia with asparagus and potatoes was amazing, we ordered two, the cobb salad was great, i had to try the ribs, dry rub, we had the avocado toast and finished with the s’mores pie which was amazing we dined at 5pm, 8pm funny girl at the ahmanson, great date night

I went here to celebrate my best friend’s engagement! I chose this spot because it is one of the few rooftop restaurants in DTLA .Incredible view with an upscale casual vibe, dishes are recommended to be shared. Parking was not too difficult, it’s downtown so it’s not great. But they offer valet and there’s a paid parking lot right next to them. My friend is a vegetarian, so we opted for all vegetarian dishes. They had a decent amount of vegetarian dishes, however I wished they had more vegetarian entrees that weren’t just salads. The menu that they had was also different than what we saw online, they might have a rotating menu. We opted for non alcoholic drinks and sparkling water. I loved the hibiscus limenade, but the strawberry lemonade was a touch too sour. Sparkling water I could’ve done without. Stand out dishes for me were the carrot tacos (best carrots I’ve ever had), the focaccia bread, and the fries. Whatever aioli they had for the fries was something I would keep going back for. On top of that, they gave us a complimentary dessert to celebrate! I think it was their dulce de leche cake w/ ice cream and bananas. So good and so very thoughtful and attentive of the staff! Dishes I wouldn’t recommend - the Mac and cheese. It was good, but nothing outstanding. My biggest complaint is the serving size is so small for $15. Not worth it in my opinion. Would I come here again, yes! I think this is great location to show off when you have people visiting or a nice lunch date. Would love to come back and try their meat and seafood items.

Our experience at Cara Cara was perfect! Our reservation was prompt. Our service and friendliness of staff was awesome, and the menu was great. We tried a variety of options and all were delicious!

The service was really great - from the ground floor welcoming team to the waitress that served our table. They were all attentive, nice, and went above and beyond what we were asking. The food was good (not great or phenomenal), but it was pricey which made the value of the food not feel justified. The cocktails were good but again not memorable. The views from the outdoor area was phenomenal, we went on a sunny, cool day which made it such a blessing to have a meal in that setting. would consider going back for another visit, but it would not be on top of my mind for a "must go" place to return.

I booked a romantic dinner the week before however the weather did not cooperate and I opted to move indoors to the Caldo Verde. We returned a week later to a wonderful experience. I had a few special requests which were readily accommodated by the GM and staff. The server was extremely attentive and the drinks and food were magnificent. A no rush romantic dinner with a to die for view made the night perfect! I will be coming back for another Spring and Summer date for sure! Thanks so much Sarah!

Really good food!! Highly recommend the Piri Piri Fried Chicken. The other food (burger, lobster roll, shrimp tacos) was good too but the chicken was amazing! The drinks were also so good.

my friend and i were looking for places to go out to dinner with an amazing view which we found cara cara.. when we arrived my friend and i got excellent and fast service from bottom and roof top floor, the food was amazing with an beautiful view to enjoy, you can definitely take beautiful pictures at the rooftop or bottom! still beautiful on either! my friend and i loved our experience there thank you.

We were seated outside which offered spectacular views of downtown. Unfortunately it was very windy when we visited. Of course, Mother Nature and the restaurant cannot control weather. However, it was very gusty winds and one of our menus flew off the table and nocked one of our drinks off the table. This was a $27 cocktail from the lobby bar. You would think the waiter would offer a replacement drink. But no. Our waiter couldn’t care less. Asked if we wanted another drink and charged us for it. A small gesture from the restaurant would have brought us back for another dinner in the future. But given the lack of hospitality and understanding, we will not be back. What a lost opportunity for this restaurant to make a good impression.

One and done. No cocktail under $20. Hotel quests scurrying through in their robes to get to the pool. Good to know, never staying at the hotel for that reason. Bland waiter. The kind that makes you feel like you are ruining their day for sitting down to eat at their place of employment. Ceviche was excellent. Plated with four chips for a beautiful presentation. However, as a result, not enough chips. Want more? Sure - $7!
