    Our waiter was great, and we love Calhoun’s normally!! unfortunately our food was atrocious ☹️

    The ribs were extremely dry (so much so that I had to drink wanted in order to swallow the food), which was disappointing considering the ribs were supposedly one of the best things on the menu. Mashed potatoes tasted old and not fresh. All the other food was pretty good.

    The Ribs and pulled pork are excellent and the cost was competitive and good. The side dishes were not great as one persons Mac and cheese had no cheese and The baked potatoes were not warm. In addition, the service was a little slow/distracted with drink service. I’m also a little disappointed that I put into my reservation that we were celebrating and major milestone anniversary as my parents were celebrating a 60 year wedding anniversary, few accomplish this milestone. They chose this restaurant and even after telling the server, nothing was stated, no congratulations, nothing. I expecting at least the manager to come over and provide a congratulations to my parents.

    I had the ribs and a baked sweet potato. The ribs were overcooked and dry. It was difficult to pull the meat off the bones and chew it. Tasted like dry ham. Not what you expect of America’s best ribs as advertised. The hubby ordered the pulled pork and baked potato. He said his food wasn’t the best he ever had just so so.

    This was my first time ever going to Calhoun and I will definitely be back. I have no complaints at all. The atmosphere was very cozy and inviting. The first thing they did is bring out a basket of three different kinds of rolls: delicious homemade biscuits, corn muffins, and a sweet cinnamon/apple tasting muffin. All three were very fresh and delicious. I had a cup of the white chicken chili and it was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and very good with of the corn muffins crumbled in it. I ordered the appetizer bacon wrapped burnt ends, along with a Caesar salad, as my meal. The burnt ends and the Calhoun’s barbecue sauce that they were cooked in were absolutely delicious. The burnt ends were perfect, very tender and full of flavor. I have never had brisket that tasted so good, I will definitely be going back!
