Childhood friends Alessandro Ercoli, Gianpietro Silardi, and Lino Savoia opened this typical Italian restaurant back in 1990. Continuing the adventure now with Alessandro are Riccardo Menichetti from Tuscany, a long-time friend with a strong passion for food and cooking, and Teri Ercoli (Alex's wife). Caffe’ Delfini has become synonymous with romance. As soon as you step inside, you are greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that transports you to the cobblestone streets of Rome, and soft music fills the air, adding to the intimate ambiance that permeates the restaurant. The menu is a culinary journey through Italy with dishes that are prepared using only the freshest and finest ingredients. I specifically asked the restaurant to help me make this birthday dinner special. They did nothing! Not a great table, no birthday dessert and when I ordered a dessert they didn’t even put a candle in it. Absolutely nothing was done to make the dinner a birthday dinner. They completely treated us within indifference.

Carole, we are sorry if you felt neglected. We apologize for it, it was not our intent to make you feel unhappy. When you arrived the restaurant was full and there were only a few tables for 2 available. One of them was blocked for a customer who specifically asked for it. Your note did not mention anything about "logistic", nevertheless we gave you the option to pick any of the available ones. We offered you a different table once a better one was available. You did not ask for a candle on dessert, we usually do not do it for privacy reason. Your guest order strawberries as dessert, it would have been hard to put it there no matter what. The rest of service was impeccable, with no wait between courses, even if we had a large party of 35 people. We hope we can serve you better next time.

I have been eating at Cafe Delfini for well over 30 years and it continues to be one of my favorite restaurants. And it often becomes a favorite restaurant for anyone who has joined me for dinner there. The owners are wonderful as is their entire staff. The menu is great though i have a “go to”—linguine mare in red sauce—which is the best pasta dish i have ever eaten anywhere. The ambience is warm and charming, the lighting is subdued and the noise level perfect. All in all, a very special dining experience!

Homemade pasta. Perfecto!! Sauces were Rome based, homemade deliciousness! Gluten free pasta also available- 4 options! The owner/manager discussed the food and wine with us. Every one of our party of 4 had amazing dishes!! We will be back!!
