Cafe Woodworks is a vibrant and welcoming space surrounded by beautiful regional art and craft. Our freshly prepared meals are generous in size and flavour, and made from locally sourced produce when possible. Our friendly and accommodating staff will greet you with a warm welcome.

Café Woodworks is a great place to meet up with friends and colleagues, and to celebrate life's special occasions. Whether it is morning cuppa, a satisfying meal, or a family affair we can cater to you.

Special Covid Restriction Hours:

Our Indoor Dining Table Service is curtailed to 4 days a week due to the government spacing restrictions and staff rostering. Indoor table service is available Friday through Monday. Bookings are not required but are recommended to assure seating certainty.

Our Express Window provides an abridged menu 7 days a week from 7am to 2:30pm, that you can take-away or eat in our self-service courtyard.

I thought a meal described as 'vegan' shouldn't contain eggs. I understand the vegan (or maybe it was 'vegetarian' - can't find on the current online menu) sweet potato hamburger was served with a mayonnaise that contained egg. I am not a vegan but am allergic to eggs in sauces. I also note the otherwise beaut chips served with the burger were very salty. That said, I enjoyed my meal at the Woodworks cafe on Thursday 15 February 2024, as well as the coffee and the attentive service.

We have lunch here every couple of months. The ambiance is always light and easy. The service is efficient, and the wait staff helpful and pleasant. Always a pleasure to return.

Woodworks is normally fantastic but it was very busy the day we went. Unfortunately the staff did not come and take our dirty dishes or ask us if we would like coffee or dessert. At about 2.45 we called a staff member over and asked if we could have coffee and were told that the coffee had been switched off. The waitress who served us said she was new and knew nothing about the wines when we were ordering.

Service was excellent. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was delicious. Two guests had the pulled lamb salad which was full of flavour. I personnally would have preferred if it was sliced lamb but it was delicious. Another had the T bone steak. Cooked to perfection. Only comment was that there were too many potatoes (six) and they would have preferred another vegetable and less potatoes. Meal was still enjoyed. We did not have coffee or dessert as we were too full. Another very small point was that the table felt sticky, when we mentioned it to staff they said it was from the table surface (varnish oil???) and she could wipe it again but it was unlikely to change. We accepted her explanation but it was not a pleasant sensation when you touched the table.

Lunch was quite pleasant. The food was OK, and the service was friendly. But it was quite noisy, due to the number of diners eating there, and because there is little in the way of sound insulation in the Cafe. I have been dining at Cafe Woodworks for some years now, and I miss one particular dish that used to be served: Seafood bisque. I wish they would re-introduce it. Otherwise, no problems.

Friendly staff. We arrived and found we had overbooked and the staff were very relaxed. Staff very attentive and it was nice to be able to have a conversation with friends and not have to yell... Food was lovely and resonably priced.

On AFL grand final day, there were few diners and we were able to secure a quiet corner. To our delight, the ambience was much more peaceful than is usual at the weekend. The service was pleasant and fast, though when we wanted to order coffees after our meal, it was hard to catch the staff's attention. Changed menu this time, with a few old favourites and many interesting new dishes we hope to try on our next visit. Meanwhile, we each chose a classic. The tempura-style flathead and chips were enjoyable but not outstanding but the accompanying salad was excellent, thank to the fresh ingredients and a tangy sauce.. The all day breakfast was generous and well-cooked. (Home cooked potato roesti would be welcome instead of the oil-soaked commercial version!).

The food was great. The only issue we had was that it was a reduced menu for Father’s Day breakfast, and there was only one option on the kids menu, which was pancakes with maple syrup, and ice cream, which was not suitable for the two-year-old in our group. Lovely lady, who we assume was the manager did find a workaround for us to enable us to order just scrambled eggs for him, which was to order the big breakfast, minus everything, but the eggs and toast, but we were only charged for scrambled eggs. So our only slight criticism would be that on special occasion days like Father’s Day perhaps have at least one other option on the kids menu for the slightly more health-conscious customers. We did also feel a little bit rushed as staff seemed to be in a hurry to take our order and came back very soon after we had told them that we needed more time, which is not ideal for what we thought was going to be relaxing Father’s Day breakfast. The coffee was great though and as I said, the food was great.

Thoroughly enjoyed this place. The food was excellent cafe quality. The coffee tasted wonderful. It was a nice quaint little Cafe in one of those gem NSW historic towns. Its more of an occasion and an event than just going down to the local cafe.

Our table arrived for our booking time of 12:30 but our food did not arrive to us ( and only after a reminder) until 2pm. We had to ask several times for someone to take our order and it felt like we were a total inconvenience. The cafe was cold like there was no heating. The ambience was poor. The food was delicious and exactly what was ordered.

Woodworks Cafe never fails to please! The menu has great choices allowing for all tastes, including lamb, beef, chicken and fish; and vegetarian options as well. Whether it’s lamb shanks, pasta or risotto I love it all! The service was great and the staff were relaxed and friendly. Each time we leave the Woodworks Cafe we say ‘we will be back’.

My late mother used to love going here, so we went on her birthday to honour her memory a month after her passing. The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient, the food was fantastic, and they had no issue accommodating the young children we had with us. The desserts were also fantastic, the pistachio slice alone is worth a visit! The whole atmosphere is warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and we all had a great afternoon.

Our go-to place for an out-of-town brunch/lunch. In at least 15 years of this being the case it has never disappointed. Yesterday the grilled scallops were fabulous as was the tuna linguine.
