Café Sbisa, established in 1899 and the third oldest fine-dining establishment in the French Quarter, is proud to re-open under the direction of a new team to once again offer the highest quality French-Creole cuisine in a welcoming, historical setting that both locals and tourists will appreciate. Spearheading the new Café Sbisa are Mr. Craig Napoli, who successfully ran the notable restaurant from 1992 - 2005 when Hurricane Katrina devastated the city, and Chef Alfred Singleton, who met Craig when he started working for him at the former Café Sbisa as a prep cook.

Now, the unique venue will once again open its doors to serve classic local fare like Turtle Soup, Louisiana Blue Crab Cakes and BBQ Shrimp using the freshest, locally-sourced seafood and produce. While many restaurants tout “fresh and local”, Sbisa means it, as the Napoli family owns their own seafood dock and distribution business in Hopedale, Louisiana.

Great restaurant. My wife had the blackened redfish and I had the pecan crusted catfish. Large portions...and everything was delicious. And our waiter Brian was excellent. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

We are locals, and often took our friends from out of town, here. This restaurant has changed so much. The crab cakes are terrible, and they used to be lump, and flavorful, and one of the best. The service was very slow. The wine listed was not available. The carpet is dirty, and there is no dress code. Very disappointing and will never return. Will go back to our old staples… Arnauds, and Galatoires. Really wanted to love it, unfortunately it was an epic fail. DR

Our dinner was full of flavor and delicious. We were quite pleased with the ambiance, food, and staff. We will definitely return again in the future.

Our dining experience was good over all. The waiter kept our water filled, was friendly and tried to make sure they cooked my steak right by relaying I wanted it medium to medium well( a little pink). The ambience was nice as well and so were the hosts! My wife’s dish was amazing, but my steak did come out over cooked and the waiter said he could have them cook another one but I just dealt with it. One thing I noticed is other tables beside us got bread and we never got any. Also the bathroom needs some updating, well actually a good amount of the restaurant does. Some of the mirrors were fading and cracked. Also they do automatically charge 18% gratuity plus a card convenience fee, which is ridiculous. Restaurants need to pay their staff just like other businesses. The public shouldn’t have to pay the staff’s wages, we already pay for the food and drinks, which they make money off of, DRINKS being the most profitable. Would I go back? No and not because the food was bad but these restaurants added a pre tip no matter what needs to do better at management especially if the prices of the food is already $$$.

We were seated right away. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent and we both enjoyed our dishes. I’d go to Cafe Sbisa again and would recommend to others.

Everything was great m. From the greeting, to the servers, to the food and drinks. Great experience all around. The redfish is to die for. Chefs kiss.
