Le Café D'Alsace est présenté par le chef Philippe Roussel, précédemment au Chelsea Bar and Bistro et au Montparnasse. We sat in back room and this was great place because it was not noisy and we could enjoy our meal and conversation with our friends. The food was delicious, the service excellent and an overall wonderful evening. My only complaint/shock was the price of glass of wine. I asked for glass of sauvignon blanc, and was told they had sancerre-- which I said was fine. The wine was quite good. I did not ask the price of the wine ( thinking it would be in the $12-$18 range). When bill arrived--that glass of wine was $24, which seemed quite high. We did ask waiter and he agreed that the mark up on the wine is way high. A glass of house white wine is $15. Next time, I will check price before ordering-- glad I only had one glass!

Our favorite neighborhood spot for great food always. The service is wonderful, Very attentive. The steak frites so tender and perfectly cooked I got the salmon, very flavorful but should have gotten the steak too. Also, try the sausage platter for appetizers. You get to choose what type of sausages you want.

I requested a specific section of the restaurant because my husband has a hearing problem, it was totally ignored. If I knew the table that I wanted shouldn’t you understand that I have eaten in your restaurant before and want to keep me as a patron. I guess not

It is a lovely place to meet friends or a special someone. If you need more privacy ask to be seated in the back toom. Food is fantastic and the servers are amazing!

New location loses the brasserie vibe. Seemed a little confused as there were 3 different servers. Menu also seemed to lose the brasserie choices. Liked this cafe in the past and hope it will settle in.

Except for the bone marrow starter, which was good, all other dishes ordered: musseles, fish, and salad were mediocre and disappointing. Years ago, cafe d'Alsace was amazing, a real neighborhood gem. Unfortunately, it gets away with mediocre cooking as there aren't great choices around to compete with. Sad, and not worth the money spent.

Enjoyable evening at a very pleasant restaurant on the upper east side. Food was very well prepared, waitress (Jacqueline) was very attentive to our orders. Went there before and will go again.

We ate here after a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Excellent service! Banana ice cream with pecans with pistachio cookies for dessert was delicious. The flaky buttery rolls are also delicious. Enjoyed the Arugula salad and mussels meuniere with fries. Highly recommend! Read about it in blurb by NY Times Food Editor Nikita Richardson who recommends it as a place to eat hear the Met.

Whenever I’m in town to visit my daughter, Cafe d’ Alsace is always a must! The ambience, food, and the special attention, is so comforting! Steve recommended the artichoke soup and the smoked salmon! Wow! So delicious! Thank you for my treasured restaurant. 🤗

Excellent food and service continue at Cafe D'Alsace. The variety of menu items allowed our group to satisfy their diverse food preferences. The special pasta dish that night was over the top delicious (and decadent). Comfortable seating as well. We are sure to return.

Amazing place with even better food and service (David, hat's off to you my man!) From the drinks to dessert we did not find anything that we didn't like. Celebrated a friend/co-worker's birthday and she was extremely pleased with out choice of restaurant. To top it off we were given a couple plates of cookies as an after dessert treat. A truly wonderful place for a regular meal or a special occasion.

We had a lovely dinner, that was served quicker than we expected. We all cleaned our plates and enjoyed the apple dessert, which was also delicious. The seating was comfortable and offered privacy at our table. We'll return soon.

We sat at the bar. Service was excellent. The bartender was at the top of his game. Quick to greet quick to fill beverage order and a repeat. Took food order after a grace period and quickly served. Hot food was hot cold food cold. Got order with ask for additions right. Overall super. Already rebooked.

Food was terrible, coffee was bitter and waitstaff incredibly rude. The noise level was out of control on Sunday afternoon at 60-70% capacity and you couldn't hear what the person next to you was saying. Not kid friendly.

This was my first time coming back after they moved to the new space and it was fantastic! Not sure why it took me so long. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable, drinks were generously poured and my pomplemousse delicious and most importantly, food was delicious. Order the pork chop next time you go!
