The Café Brio, located in Victoria, has been a local favorite for twenty six years, serving up a rustic, Italian inspired menu. Focusing on regional products, Café Brio led by multi awarded Chef Sam Harris selects the highest quality ingredients from local sources to be used in authentic, creative dishes.

At Café Brio, everything is prepared in house. Pasta favorites include gnocchi with roasted leeks, parmesan cream and basil purée, Spaghettini with tomato, garlic, basil, olive oil and parmigiano and also our wild mushroom risotto. From the Sea enjoy seared scallops with peroxides, delicata squash, carmelo and bacon anchovy vinaigrette or our local fish feature. Lastly the Parry Bay Lamb feature from our friends out in Metchosin is an absolute must.

The wine list is extensive with input from multiple Sommeliers on staff always excited to share their new favourite bottle in our unique and cozy dining room.

Such a lovely early evening spent at Cafe Brio last night. We enjoyed everything but, of particular note, the food of course!

Lovely place for dinner. Service was prompt; food was delicious; menu is full of interesting options. I appreciated the option for half orders as much as my dinner companions appreciated the option for full orders!

From the service to the portions to the food, everything exceeded our expectations - and our initial expectations were high! Can’t recommend Cafe Brio highly enough. We’ll definitely be back.

Great first early bird special dining experience for us at Cafe Brio since Greg and Silvia passed on the culinary torch to Vinnie and Sam. Food was first rate. Service was very good if a titch disjointed among the staff but, with time, no doubt it‘ll be seamless. We‘re looking forward to dining there again soon and often!!

A terrific place to have a special meal out. Excellent service, food and ambience. Certainly on the pricey side but pretty typical for the type of restaurant. My only real complaint is the noise level but it almost impossible to find a quiet restaurant today. Still, it was a bit surprising to hear fairly loud, intrusive music playing here. Makes it difficult to have a quiet conversation.

Great first impression. Arrived right on time. The entryway is a bit crowded but we were seated fairly quickly. Love the cozy ambience with the bar in the center of the space with high back booths along the side and cozy tables in the front porticos. Chef's selection dishes were very good. Soup was delicious, a bit on the cool side, but wanted more! The salad was fresh and flavourful, well balanced. Mussels were very fragrant and had me searching for more sauce (not much there), the meatballs were tender and delicious and had a nice spicy heat to them, which was fantastic for me as a heat lover, but maybe not for everyone. But. The star of the show was the gnocchi. Plump, fluffy, perfect texture and flavour, the carbonara sauce was creamy and delicious without being too rich, and the salty crunch of the guanciale was just perfect. Met the approval of our cheffy Italian friends. We were a bit perpelexed by the steak knives placed at our seatings. As they were placed, we were told we were getting a fish dish and a meat dish, so we were expecting something other than soft meatballs and pillowy gnocchi. Not disappointed by the flavours, but with those beatuiful french steak knives sitting in front us, we were preparing to dig into something with a bit more texture. Cocktails, beer and wine all met the mark. Will be back.

We have loved Cafe Brio for years - it has never disappointed! The food is amazing, the service is friendly and attentive and it has a fabulous vibe. We love that they have 1/2 portions for the entrees - for many of us, that is the perfect size meal! Add a salad and/or dessert and you won't feel overly full. The salad of wild greens was amazing, and the duck was tender and perfectly flavored. The halibut with fennel was perfectly cooked and the flavors were amazing.

Everything our group ordered was delicious. The Early Bird special was a great price for 3 courses. Can’t wait to go again on our next trip to Victoria.

Food amazing, price excellent but clearly understaffed. Had to wait 15 minutes for our first cocktail.

4 of us ordered ‘Family Dining’. $80/person. Highlight was Scallops, but had to pay a $4/ea surcharge to have this ‘added’ as one of ‘chefs options’. The rest of the meal was not special: main entry was meatballs, very small bowl of soup, salad was mostly greens, no dessert included. Was a birthday dinner, disappointing. 5 drinks and tip…$502!! Drove away feeling we didn’t get our $80 worth

It was our first time at Cafe Brio and we could only get bar seating. We were reticent at first, but it turned out to be the perfect place. It was fun watching the action at the busy bar and interacting with the amazing staff. We will be back...our new favorite place! Do yourself a favor and order the mussels! Everything was delicious and half orders allowed us to try more dishes...just perfect!

Amazing and scrumptious dishes! Seared scallops, halibut, meatballs and penne were highly enjoyed by our table! And corn dogs!! What fun!! Excellent service with a personal touch. The dessert — sticky toffee pudding - was unbelievably delicious! Yes, it was a full restaurant! Be sure to Make a reservation!

One of our favourite restaurants in Victoria for years, Cafe Brio continues their exceptional level of service while managing to keep their menu fresh, satisfying, and creative. Our server was amazing, food was delectable, and the atmosphere was everything I wanted and more. They fulfilled my special request which was totally unnecessary, but they did it anyways. 100% recommend supporting this business and giving them a try, don't regret any money spent here!

Everything was fabulous…the flavours in each dish intricate and harmonious. You can’t go wrong with any dish you order, so I’m not going to highlight a specific dish. Our waiter was excellent, as well as the other servers. We appreciated that our finished dinner plates were not removed until we had all finished eating…a pet peeve of mine! We also appreciated the extensive cocktail and wine list. Our only thought was ‘why hadn’t we visited Cafe Brio before?!’ We’ll definitely return! One of our party is hard of hearing and we were lucky to snag a quiet table…just ask if that’s important to you.

Professional wait staff who really know their stuff when it comes to describing food and what to expect. Helpful, present but unobtrusive. Food was very well made and presented beautifully.

Great food as always. Cocktails needed work, but owner promptly took care of it for us, which we appreciated. When we dine out we prefer to finish our cocktails prior to food arriving, and eat with (previously ordered) glasses of wine. We were still drinking our cocktails when food arrived. We had to ask for the wine to have with our food. A small thing but it makes for a feeling of being rushed. Overall we love Cafe Brio, and will continue to dine there. An amazing team and we wish to support them, thus my detailed feedback for future.

A must-visit restaurant, easily the best Italian in Victoria. Their Roast Duck Breast is sublime. Great wine list.
