Situated just a short walk from the Scarsdale Metro-North Station, Café Alaia, a Michelin award winner 2020 thanks to its cozy décor, soaring ceilings and welcoming owner (Vincenzo Alaia), the dining room is all buzz. Thoughtfully arranged tables, framed by rustic wooden chairs, typically bear elevated versions of regional Italian dishes. Pastas are a highlight and fittingly so, like tender spinach- and ricotta-filled ravioli bathed in a melted sage-infused butter. Squid stuffed with crab, spinach and breadcrumbs is augmented by perfectly poached cherry tomatoes, not unlike the fresh figs set atop a crostata di pere. A bar in the middle is ideal for solo or couple diners who want to linger.

Our brand new space has plenty of room to accommodate social distancing. We have installed the highest rated air purification system with state of the art UV technology combined with MERV 13 Filtration.

Bothers me when. .. coffee is brought before you finish your wine, and you are given the check when you don't ask for it. On a Wednesday night when there are empty tables. 2 people spending $280 should not be rushed. The food was delicious.

Cafe Alai never disappoints. The service is always exceptional and food is outstanding. We always go for the specials and haven’t been disappointed. Highly recommend lasagna and halibut wrapped in thinly sliced potato with the side of broccoli rabe dishes.

Cafe Alaia is a wonderful place to dine with just your significant other or a group of friends. The ambience is welcoming and cozy and the food is superb. Highly recommend for outstanding Italian cuisine.

This is our family's favorite restaurant. We always find the most delicious specials here along with their regular meals. I always look forward to going and am fortunate enough to live across the street!!! The soups of the day are always outstanding as are the pastas. Everything is Delicious and the staff is very helpful. I love the room itself even though it does get very noisy on a saturday after 7.p.m. --If you hear well-- not a problem. First time here. Party of 4 seated next to bar. Many drinks shaken with high decibel noise level. It was not the quiet location we requested. Will not sit in bar area again unless they change the mixing method. Food was very good and well prepared fish. Excellent service. Very good value for price. Worth a return visit.

We arrived early for our reservation for six people and were seated quickly with a wonderful welcome. We were offered water and asked about drinks. Our waiter was very well-versed on the specials. We ordered drinks, a special Butternut Squash Salad, Carciofi, Pappardelle Agnello, Bronzino Al Forno, Rigatoni Pomodoro, the Special Ravioli, a bottle of wine, a pear tart (with a Candle-our waiter knew there was a birthday and he happily added a candle to the correct person's dessert), a cheesecake, zabaglione and Espresso. The wait staff, the kitchen staff and bar staff worked wonderfully together, making the afternoon happily GREAT! If you have the chance, enjoy an afternoon or evening at Cafe Alaia! Careful with the parking, especially if you have out-of-state license plates on your car. The town gives NO grace period to out-of-state cars. Make use of the FREE parking about a block and a half beyond the restaurant on the right, through a narrow alleyway.

We had a beautiful dinner for our daughter's Birthday celebration. Everything was delicious--we had scallops with mango and they were perfect and the prosciutto and melon with figs was so yummy and enough to share---the girls had pasta that they both love ---the waiter was wonderful and very attentive---we all ate too much of course but it was fun and a great celebration. This is one of my very favorite places . It could not have been better in any way. S. F.

Perfect evening out! Cafe Alaia showcases high culinary standards without a pretentious or formal feel. The four of us raved after each bite! We enjoyed the burrata and artichoke salad to start. The Branzino is outstanding. The salmon was a healthy portion and expertly prepared. And the pork chop special was devoured. Service was attentive…providing trustworthy advice on food and wine selections. We will be returning very soon.

As usual, excellent all around. This is the best restaurant in Scarsdale (/Eastchester). There are more expensive choices and some in these parts think that means "better" but they are mistaken.

This restaurant has great food and service the drinks were great. The parking is horrible in this area and the noise level is way to loud you cannot talk without shouting.

What a terrific experience. First, the wait staff is so well coordinated and on their game. Professional, timely and anticipating the diners needs. Our meals were delicious- a perfect salad served with warm beets and a delicious dressing. Pasta dishes were perfection: linguine with clams and a mixed seafood with pasta. So refreshing to dine in a restaurant that has its act together.

The owner knows how to make sure the guests feel welcome and taken care of, the food is consistently flavorful and the specials offer variety from the regular menu. The excellent food and great service make Cafe Alaia a place worth returning to time after time.

This was our first time… Food and service were great. Just a couple of things… I saw cocktails being served, but never received a cocktail menu. Is a cocktail menu available? We sat at a two top located in the middle of the floor right as you enter the dining room. A little tight and uncomfortable. More importantly, the area around the table is a narrow high-traffic area which made it hard to relax and sit comfortably. We were worried about getting bumped into or - even worse - one of the servers tripping over our feet.

Our first time here. Parking is a real issue as theres no lot. Just lucky to get a space as someone pulled out. The restaurant is very cozy and warm. Menu was a little limiting. Service excellent. The sauce they put out with the bread is delicious. Caesar salad was ok. Pasta dish excellent. Very nice!

The best Italian food in the area! Have been there a few times now and has not been disappointed. Great selection of wines, food is light and fresh (you can tell made from scratch!), and ambience is great.

I had my favorite beet salad with a different lettuce than they serve it ordinarily because I don't like frisbee and it was perfectly delicious--and I had the cauliflower parmesan soup with bacon bits that was out of this world. I had a wonderful experience at Cafe Alaia for a special dinner with family and friends. The whole restaurant team is fantastic and goes above and beyond to make your evening great. The food is wonderful - everyone finished everything on every plate! This is a hidden gem. We love Cafe Alaia!

An early lunch, so we had place to ourselves. The service was terrific. The food outstanding. We had the special pasta with lobster, the special app zucchini flowers, the dorado fish special. Make this restaurant a regular!

The owner is very nice. Great drinks. Great vibe. My husband had pasta bolognese and I had the whole branzino which was outstanding! Portion sizes are generous. They don’t rush you and the service is great! Love this place, the food is like being in Italy!

Food has been consistently delicious and service is pleasant and very attentive. We have been coming to Cafe Alaia for over 4 years and each time we leave very satisfied. The wine selection is attractive, and desserts are always delicious. We brought quite few friends and they too have been raving about the restaurant. Vincenzo, the owner, watches over his place with a careful eye. You can spot him each time you visit. I highly recommend this restaurant either for an intimate dinner for 2 or a bigger party of friends.
