Byblos Café, originally a Mediterranean market, has been a staple in the orange circle since the 50’s. It was sold to Adel and Zalfa Mahshi in 1989. The family run business became a favorite in the town for Lebanese cuisine. Many locals loyally frequented the spot for their famous Turkish coffee. In 2022, Daily Dose Hospitality, the crew that also runs Bosscat Kitchen & Libations, purchased the business from the family. While Adel and Zalfa had the opportunity to retire, their son, Tim, joined the team alongside Pedram Yazarlou as operating partners. They have transitioned the cuisine to a Mediterranean fusion style with influences from Greece, Turkey, Iran, Lebanon, & Jordan.

The service was excellent. The restaurant provided complimentary champagne which was a great start to the date. However, being a bit of a foodie, I would say the ambience and food was just “ok”. There are some fantastic restaurants in that same vicinity (e.g. Gabby’s and Gastropub).

The food was amazing! The byblos burger is hands down the best burger my husband and I have ever had (we eat a lot of burgers). The koobideh patty was perfectly seasoned and moist-all the toppings, sauces and bun were PERFECT. We also got some apps- the fried cauliflower and stuffed grape leaves were a 10/10 and the FABulous salad was also great- a harmonious plate of beets, feta, and toasted almonds on a bed of arugula. Look forward to going back.

The absolute WORST MEAL EVER! THEY SOLD THE MOM POP I LOVED YEARS AGO AND THE FOOD WAS BELOW PAR.We were the only customers. Said Out of Beef Shawarma, a Lebanese restaurant, subbed chicken that smelled like fish and no flavor. Sons egg meal fried dry eggs, had to wait for beans it wasn't worth eating there. TOTALLY OVERPRICED $176.00 FOR bad meals. Ordered a wrap it was just wet piled onto a pita. Couldn't wrap it was totally soggy. AND GNATS all over. We should have left on EASTER. WANT MONEY BACK. DO NOT BOTHER HERE. TAKE BOUT MUST REALLY BE HORRENDOUS!!

The chairs were so uncomfortable. I don’t know why restaurants use the chairs that dig into your legs/bottom so much. They sat us at the back of the restaurant and I could smell some kind of citrus cleaner the whole time. The food was just okay, it lacked a lot of flavor. Won’t be going back.

It is a nice, modern, quiet cafe. We were seated at the front window and also enjoyed the activities and people outside. The music was just the right volume, being able to hear, but not making it difficult to hold a conversation.

The owners are there working every day both in the kitchen and front of house, which means they are watching the quality of both food and service, which means you can count on a delicious meal and attentive service. The French fries are SO good! And I love their FAB salad.

We were just a party of three but seated as you enter and across from the bar. Plenty of loud unnecessary music interspersed with the sound of clanging dishes as the plate bus area appears to be right next to the bar. There was no effort to keep the din down so just be aware of where you are seated. In the main dining section you are either going to be sitting on a bench or metal chairs with wood seat area, read (not too comfortable!). The appetizer we shared was the falafel and it seemed fine enough with a white cream sauce draped on top that did not have much flavor. It was $9 so the value seemed good. All three of us ordered "wraps" at $16 to $17. Why did I put "wraps" in quotes you ask? Well because the wraps are actually not wraps. The food is presented like a unwrapped burrito on a thin tortilla kind of like pita bread but NOT, really more like, well a tortilla. The flavor on the two meats, both chicken and beef, were good. The falafel wrap had the driest falafel I have ever had. The wraps did come with a nice, albeit small side salad. Overall the meal was just really lacking in any inspiration or value.

I was really looking forward to their Baklava but unfortunately they were sold out at 6:30. 😢 We love this place and will be back!
