The food was exceptional. So good, that I ate there two nights in a row while in Atlanta for a conference. One night I ate the risotto and the next the seared salmon. each were cooked to perfection and were as good as any such entres as I have ever ordered. The saute spinach side order each night was great accompaniment . I asked for the farrow with the salmon, which was excellent. I wish I lived near such a great place in my Chicago home. Pricey but really worth it.

Absolutely wonderful! Amazing cocktail of Southern Heart, appetizer of Heirloom Tomatoes and the Filet with Brussels Sprouts and Truffle Parmesan Fries was amazing!!! Great service!!

The worst dining experience I’ve had in the past several years by far. A regular day here is probably better, but they were not prepared for Mother’s Day at all. We waited over 15 minutes after being sat to even get water, and almost 30 minutes to get our drinks. We didn’t get our food until almost 50 minutes after sitting down. After ordering, they let us know what we requested (which was apart of a pre fixe menu) was not available. It was the lamb chops which is my mother’s favorite dish and why I chose this restaurant. We had to ask twice for my mother’s second drink she ordered. We waited forever to get our bill which I was told would be discounted and it wasn’t, and instead of waiting around again for it to be fixed I just accepted it. There was also a large and extremely loud party behind us that no one even attempted to quiet. Definitely was not the Mother’s Day experience I expected and I would never go back here again.

Mother's Day at By George was a successful event for my family. The food was good. The environment was nice. The live music was fantastic. It was a great place to spend the day.

The WORST experience at what was suppose to be a five star restaurant. Both Lamb Chops meals were not seasoned very well and were plated/served without the the asparagus. Once the asparagus was brought to the table basically raw with burnt grill marks. The asparagus was sent back and a few minutes later the waitress brought the same three asparagus stems back to the table. (Unsanitary) When ask for a second bread basket we were told there would be an extra charge on top of the already "OVER-PRICED MEALs". One vegan meal was requested and accommodated (Pasta and Veggie Bowl with Tomato Soup) but, there was no price adjustment for a lesser meal. The tea was not prepared full strength and looked like brown water. The coffee was not hot at all. Overall Terrible experience "Stay Away".

Service was not what was expected at this price point. After being seated, waiting 15 minutes before a server arrived at our table was unacceptable. Other patrons who were seated after us were being served their appetizers before we had even seen our server. Our food was delayed as it appeared that the kitchen never made it or the order never got to the kitchen as the people at the table next to us, who sat down 30 minutes after we did, had finished their meals before ours arrived. The food was okay but certainly not exceptional enough to overcome the service issues. I have been to many restaurants in Atlanta and am slightly confused about how this is the number 1 rated one in Atlanta. Maybe we went on an off night, or our server was new, but regardless of the reason, nothing about this experience will make us return. On the plus side, the door security and the valets were all very kind and pleasant.

Great space. Alcoholic beverages were OK. Food was mid at best - definitely too expensive for what they are. Flavors were simple and not well-developed or imagined. Service was also OK, but our server seemed really preoccupied, or surprised by our engagements with them.

Located in a beautiful hotel, gorgeous historic southern feel. Had a lovely roasted chicken dish (GF) and one of the best Paloma cocktails ever. Server was nice and on top of her game. Recommend!

I took a group of 15 there for lunch and our server (Daniella - I'm sorry if I messed up your name) was wonderful. The food and the CORN BREAD, OMG the CORN BREAD was SOOOOOO delicious. I got the Shrimp and Gritz and it was AMAZING. This is now my go to restaurant for groups. The place is beautiful. Pricing was OK.

Located in the wonderful Candler Hotel, this restaurant has an amazing ambience and vibe. From the decor to the live music, the vibe of the restaurant is hard to beat. I wanted to like it so badly. Unfortunately, the service was incredibly slow. While friendly, I had to ask our server for another drink 3 times over a 90 min meal. For the price point and creative description, the food was also underwhelming. I tried the chicken and sweet potato waffle, which was basically a frozen (reheated) chicken breast with normal waffle that had no detectable sweet potato. Likewise, the pastry plate was 4 convenience store quality pastries that had been microwaved. Given the wealth of other better brunch options in this part of town, I cannot recommend this one (although I really wanted to given the wonderful ambience).

Disappointing experience. Service was slow despite there being many waiters and less than 10 tables eating. The food wasn’t bad but for the price, the portions were off. I ordered the 3 egg omelette with side of breakfast potatoes. The potatoes took over at least 2/3rds of the plate and the omelette was tiny. I’ve done many other brunch spots in Atlanta and for that price have gotten much better plates. They are clearly playing on the fact that it’s a hotel in downtown and not many brunch options around. The 3 egg omelette comes with 4 toppings you get to choose. Out of the 4 I chose, when my plate arrived 2 were wrong … when I pointed it out to the waitress she was not really surprised and really unapologetic about it. I was excited to try this place but will not be going back.

Enjoyed the experience overall; excellent service and definitely recommend ordering the corn muffins as a starter as well as the shrimp and grits as an entree. I was disappointed as the restaurant was out of tawny port. In addition, the coffee was horrible and would not recommend ordering the crème brûlée as it was uninspired. There seemed to be some confusion with the valet service as it took about 15 minutes to get my car. The staff was apologetic and earnest…and may not be well prepared when there is a rush of people arriving and/or leaving around the same time. The restaurant and hotel are beautiful and is a definite must to visit.

Food was excellent. Only issue was main course delivered while we were still eating salads. Scallops were perfect, not over cooked. Lemon Sole was excellent. Ambience was good; unfortunately we were seated next to a misbehaving child. Would definitely recommend!

It was my first time here and Irish was extremely personable and attentive. The food was phenomenal, I was between the pancakes and the Tres leches French toast, she recommended the French toast and both mine and my lady’s dishes (shrimp and grits) were amazing. There was a saxophonist playing and it was beautiful, not too loud

Searched for a breakfast restaurant nearby and decided to try. It’s a beautiful building and the restaurant has big windows with lots of light and city street views. Lovely staff and good brunch.

The bread is so addictive my mom and I ordered so to go. The food is amazing too and if you have any leftovers you want to take home they bag it for you. I've been there twice now and I will never stop loving this place

A very nice place for a quiet meal. Shrimp cocktail and carrots side dish were fantastic. Salmon was a bit overdone on the ends, but good flavor in the middle... fortunately it is such a large serving of Salmon that there is plenty. Wine list is not extensive, but has good variety. All in all a good place for dinner.

Great experience! We had alerted the staff that we were a quick turning table because of theatre tickets. Our server Whitfield, delivered drinks, took our orders with a few vegetable substitutions and came back with our delicious fried lobster tail and scallop orders in a very timely fashion. We had time to leisurely enjoy our entrees, wine, pay our bill, validate parking—all in an hour. Beautiful surroundings only enhanced a great dinner.

Beautiful space, food was solid but took a long time despite not being full. Water should be replenished more frequently. Server was professional and appropriate for venue. The rigatoni bolognese was very good.
