    The food was mediocre and overpriced. Crab cakes bland, lamb tough, fries were heavy and clumpy. 2-top table fine for cocktails but way too small for dinner. All-in-all, a waste of time and money.

    Had dinner for 3. 615 reservation, place was not busy at the time but was filling up when we left by 8 or so. We had one the specials, a 32oz tomahawk w mashed potatoes and asparagus. These came out on hot lava stone platter, the steak was precut into straps. The meat was delightful. We also had drinks and dessert (lava cake). Service was great

    It was our first time having lunch at Butcher’s cut for Easter. My family and I enjoyed the food. Our server, Alek, was very attentive. Their portions are the right amount for the price even with their Easter menu. My husband and son shared their bone in rib eye and it was just cooked perfectly. My family and I left a very satisfied customer. Will definitely go back again. Thank you Butcher’s cut for our first time experience.

    We came to this restaurant for our birthday dinner with a group of friends and it did not disappoint! Service was wonderful. Drinks were strong & Steak cuts were impeccable. We ordered a few lava stone cuts which was a cool experience. However One of our steaks didn’t come out properly cooked and they had it promptly taken and quickly brought it back at the perfect temp! They also surprised us with a delicious couple slices of cake to honor our birthdays! We will come back next time we’re in San Diego.

    Nikki was amazing! Came here last year with my girlfriend for a date, and have since moved out of the area. Came back last week for the second time and it was just as good as we remember. Nikki was very generous and informative, Even showed us some extra love for returning. food was great and will definitely be coming by a3 time when in the area again. Thank you, Nikki!

    The t bone steaks that came out on the rock were a little overcooked and there was no way to get the steak off the rock to a side plate so by the end of the meal the steak was cooked well done.

    Wasn’t very welcomed when walking in. Was sat at a table in the corner right next to the server station and plexiglass glass where servers and managers were having conversations and leaning against the glass as we tried to enjoy our dinner. Almost asked them to pull up a chair because the were so close to our table. Glass was the only thing separating our table and the servers/managers backside as they spoke to one another. Was approached with 2 bottles of water and asked if we wanted sparkling or still when I said house water the busser looked upset and went back to get the pitcher to give us house water. Also table was close enough to the server station and I noticed the server getting water for pitchers to serve house water from the faucet sink instead of the water gun that’s filtered a little more than a faucet. Steaks were very dry. Drinks were very good but that’s about it. Not worth the money that was paid. Would have rather took my $240 and went to gaslamp pizza.

    Our waitress Manuela was super nice! When we arrived we were told our table wasn’t ready yet but we were okay with waiting as we were in no rush. You could tell the restaurant was busy but the staff still had a smile and were efficient with our meals and drinks.

    Service was very good. Wait staff was attentive and very polite. Bread was not the best , butter had an after taste. Restaurant week menu has a lot of add on cost. Main course did not come with a side . Mash potatoes were lacking taste needed butter and salt. Steak was ok but it was an additional $10.00 for the New York Steak. Mash potatoes was an additional $13.00 and mushrooms were an additional $12.00. Martini was overpriced at $24.00.. cheese board was great as an appetizer but it was an additional $15.00. Needless to say $50.00 per person became $245.00 with tip and only one martini. Most likely will stick with Morton’s or Flemings … cost for restaurant week was not as pricey and meal included three courses.

    Did not get what I ordered . They were out of things so they gave me whole different pasta dish never bothered to let us know. Told 3 different people.(server, runner, and server helper). Then restaurant manager stopped by. told him. He did try and satisfy us. Knocked off some off bill. That was very nice but not expected on my part. But hey thanks

    The Lamb lollipop appetizer was phenomenal, steaks were good, great sauces, sides were absolutely horrendous, Mac and cheese isn’t really a Mac and cheese, just noodles cooked in a pot mixed with cheese and a piece of flavorless meat dropped in their, definitely not a wagyu meatball, dessert was okay

    Was searching for a place to go on a date night with my husband and I came across Butcher’s Cut. We decided to do the couples night experience and I’m so glad that we did. The food was amazing, the steak was just how we like it, the salad was just the right portion and the desert was to die for. And the our hostesses went above and beyond! We are definitely be returning!

    Server was kind and attentive. The food was delicious. There were a few mistakes made with food not being ours brought to our table and be aware that the couples night menu is new so they are getting used to how the ticket is processed in the kitchen.. in our case one salad came out when two were supposed to. Atmosphere was awesome and noise level was great for the meal and having conversation. I would go again someday.

    I made a reservation for a standard table inside, and when we got there, they said they had no tables for 5 inside. Outside wasn't so bad, but then a party of 5 was seated inside! I think because we have kids they tried to keep us separated. Fine. Our first drink order was prompt, and we put our food order when receiving our drinks within 15 minutes. Things spiraled downhill from here. After 20minutes we ordered a bottle wine(they were out of my first choice) we got the wine 30minutes later! Then our food took another 30minutes! It was almost an hour and a half to get our food. The kids ordered the farfadelle pasta with butter and garlic and got plain curly spaghetti. I mean plain. We said something and it came back in so much butter it looked like soup. I ordered the special, 8oz filet and lobster tail. The filet was cooked alright but was tough. A prime filet should NOT be difficult to cut through. I barely at any of it l, it was not good. The lobster tail was so hard to get off the shell and had dark grey spots. Again, barely touched it, I have a picture. To say the least. I am outright disgusted with my experience. I did hear after that the restaurant next door, Grey Steak is the same owner and had a kitchen fire and so the 2 restaurants were sharing a kitchen. For what I paid for this dinner, after hearing that, ugh. Its just not right. Oh, my wife's lobster ravioli special was good.

    I had steak and lobster. My steak was overcooked. Lobster was cold and overcooked. The corn and bacon dish tasted like canned corn and undercooked bacon . The drinks were good. The potatoes were good. The tuna ceviche was good. The waitress was good. The food runner was not communicating and just laid plates anywhere. For almost a thousand dollars the food and service should have been excellent. I would definitely pick a different place next time.

    I took a very long time to send this review hoping management would contact me, however, as the manager on duty said that night "I am clocked off" while sitting at a table with several females. Upon our arrival on Valentine's Day, the hostess greeted us with a huge smile. Everything painted towards a great evening until near midnight when the bus-boys started rushing to disassemble tables in the area near the front of the restaurant, carrying table tops and legs separately, making loud noises, walking back and forth by the isle closest to the wine glass wine room where the wife and I were sitting, we had no option to take our attention away from our enjoyable dinner to making sure we did not get hit (at one point, one of the table tops that were being stacked behind my wife slid out and ended near our table. A person that was dressed like a supervisor/manager in dark color pants and button up shirt had to pick it up. In one instance, one of the bus-boys, while carrying a complete assembled round table, bumped a guest that was sitting at the last table before you enter the back room where the glass wine room is located. While eating a delicious lemon puffy something piece of dessert, and always calling it a night, I observed a large rat run from behind me (I was facing towards the kitchen giving my back to the street) and towards the inner part of the restaurant leading towards the kitchen area. I immediately, and quietly asked for my bill, paid, and made my way towards the exit. Before I left the restaurant, I decided that it would had been good if I quietly informed the manager what I had witnessed. I asked a waiter to call the manager, he walked towards the back of the restaurant where I assume he was sitting with several females, the waiter came back and told me "He says he is clocked off", then the waiter asked me "What do you need?". I then asked for another person in charge and a female responded to my request. I explained the situation then departed.

    For a Valentine’s Day dinner it was mediocre at best. We ordered the special which was over $100 bucks and the filet we ordered medium rare came out well done and the lobster was undercooked. We were pleased with the sea bass and the lamb chop lollipops, but the steak tartare was again mediocre.

    We never made it in even though we were 5 minutes ahead of time. The reservation clearly stated that we wanted to be seated inside, but we were told that there were no available tables inside and offered to sit outside. It was too cold to sit outside, and we asked how long it would take to get a table inside, we were told that it would be 30 minutes. We thought of sitting at the bar for those 30 minutes to wait for a table but were told that there was no room at the bar either. That's when they also told us that they were overbooked. Why make reservations at all then? We don't live in the area and made efforts to get there. It was very frustrating.

    I specifically made reservations here for the “couples experience” with a 3 course menu for 2. Only to find out from our server that they have that every other night EXCEPT for Valentine’s night due to the volume of diners expected. I mean, WHAAT?? That makes no sense. Needless to say, extremely disappointed. Our server, Jenny, was absolutely fantastic though!

    Valentine's Day Trap. Reserved the couples' experience for 2/14, only to arrive at the door and be informed that the menu wasn't available. Additionally, a 20% service fee was added to the total bill for the special event without prior notification.
