We are fine-casual dining with a fire at the core of its heart. Through the smoke and whiskey ashes of the previous iteration which closed its doors in 2020 rises a new haze of smoke and whiskey as we bring back this iconic brand, smoked meats, bourbon, beer, deep hues, and various spaces to a new location in the North Loop. Butcher & The Boar will honor its beloved roots, while spreading new ones in the fresh foundation that will help our guests embark on a journey with notes of nostalgia that carry the torch forward with new tastes and experiences.

Arrived on Sunday for brunch (with a reservation!) to find there was no host & restaurant was dead (2 parties in the restaurant & a person sitting at the bar). After peeping into the restaurant 3-4 times & seeing 2 servers ignoring us (not busy!), someone finally agreed he’d seat us. This is a beautiful space. We had a booth by the bar. Service was attentive once we got seated. The brunch Old Fashioned was definitely on point. The hash was disappointing, flavorful but mostly potatoes & little hash topped w/ an almost raw egg. Shrimp & grits were the very item we had - grits were worthy of being taken home for another day.

The bartender was knowledgeable about the menu, helped us pick some great whiskey. The food was amazing, the whiskey was great. The experience was 10/10. Would recommend to ANYONE.

We sat in the Char Bar which was a little more lively than the main dining room. It has the same menu plus some specialty cocktails & bar snacks. Our server Tony was fantastic.

Wanted a special experience for our 30th anniversary. The restaurant is beautiful, very nice atmosphere. The staff was wonderful. Unfortunately I told our waitstaff that I did not like spicy foods and he recommended my main dish which had a pepper salsa on it and cornbread that also had spicy peppers in it. Disappointed in the food. It is not like the old Butcher & the Boar. It looked great, nice presentation. Just not what I was hoping for.

Cajun inspired menu, with great service and ambiance. Food quality and presentation was good. Prepare for family style dining, which is not clearly displayed beforehand.

Amazing service, great ambiance, and good food once we got inside but we almost went somewhere else after parking in their completely empty parking lot and being turned away. I offered to pay the $10 valet fee and leave my keys with the attendant and was told it’s a cash only valet parking lot. So, feeling very unwelcome we drove out of the lot and found nearby street parking. The host also couldn’t find our Open Table reservation. Again, it felt unwelcoming, but otherwise good! This was our first time at the new location. They’ve re-created the vibe of the old location and added several nice spaces for small to medium groups. All the food was delicious and the drinks were too. Plus there is a speakeasy through the back door. We’ll be back!

I was a big fan of the original Butcher and the Boar, so I was skeptical if they could capture the magic again. I assure you that they have. Everything about our meal felt thoughtfully prepared, was flavorful and has retained the quality you would expect from Butcher and the Boar. I can't wait to go again. Those Crab Hushpuppies are too good. I also appreciate that they have a fantastic selection of NA cocktails for those who aren't drinking alcohol. My NA old fashioned was mispoured, but even the mispour was delicious!

Dined with a work team for holiday dinner. Menu options were ok, but not to our liking. Dissappointed there wasn't a good cut of beef option. Sausages were good. Sides dissappointing - cauliflower subpar undercooked, carrots ok, brussel sprouts very good.

Came here with my husband to celebrate our Anniversary. We had a wonderful time. We were treated well and The food was very delicious. I had the Beef Long Rib and my husband had the Charred Chicken. We both enjoyed our dishes. The long rib was too big to finish. It Had a bit of fat in it that I had to give that fat to my dog . The rainbow roasted carrots and their mash potatoes tasted good. They were shareable sizes. We enjoyed the Absinthe drink. It was phenomenal just wish it was a fuller glass...it’s definitely a place to go for a special occasion. I would come back!!

We had dinner to celebrate a business accomplishment and enjoyed every moment we had together. The food was amazing, and we ordered family style so that we could taste different menu items. Everyone enjoyed the food & I will definitely come back.

Service was disjointed and slow and we were the first table seated when they opened. Once we received our food we didn’t really see our server again until we had long finished and were hoping to order a second round of drinks. We ordered the drinks as the server was refilling our waters. We waited so long for our 2nd round that we almost cancelled them but, couldn’t because nobody was as there to tell. I actually had another refill of water and had finished it before the drinks came. I’m telling you it was at least 30 minutes. We planned to ask out server for the tab when he came back with the drinks but, instead a food runner brought our drinks so that plan was foiled. Once we were about halfway through those drinks, and we still had not seen our tab, a member of our party went to the hostess to request our tab. It was clear that other tables were having similar issues. Also, for a meat focused establishment, there was very little bacon and a ridiculous amount of potatoes on my plate. The eggs were delicious, though!
