Im not a regular but I go 2-3 times a month and I always have a great time, food is always great, services 10/10 usually had Kat serving who’s amazing and the best server ever, but recently I had Wallie, who had also a great energy and made me and friend feel comfortable. The steaks are just great, mushrooms and carrots and definitely the asparagus. Desserts 10/10, best carrot cake and key lime pie to die for, super light and fluffy, like a piece of cloud. I’m happy we have such a nice new restaurant in the neighborhood

Butcher and the Bear continues to deliver!! Second time in as many weeks and the only thing better than the food was Cesar’s exceptional service! From the welcoming hostess to an exceptional handcrafted old fashioned the bar was set high. The octopus and hamachi crudo were exceptional. Don’t skip the salads - they really are worth it. The wagyu board is life altering and the value is unbelievable!! …and if they recommend an “off-menu” wine - have confidence! B&B is quickly becoming a “go-to” option and is among the best choices when you want to get out of (or not go into) the loop!

Natalia served us the oyster rockefeller, charred octopus, caesar salad, wagyu board, whipped potatoes, grilled asparagus, dessert sampler, and 4 drinks. Everything came out in a timely fashion. The food was excellent. Service was phenomenal. Dimly lit ambiance, romantic if you will! Decor was dope. Mirrors were picture worthy. And the wallpaper in the bathroom was aesthetically pleasing. 12/10 experience. Will be back!

We've been back a few times. It's a solid Chicago steakhouse with premium cuts of meat and interesting takes on many of the sides and salads you'd expect. The umami sauce is sumptuous. Cocktails are well poured, deserts are rich and decadent and the wine selection is ample. I'm certainly no aficionado, but I also enjoyed the after-dinner port. The Second City Rub is fantastic - and a household favorite for cooking at home. My only nitpick (which is very minor) is the salting. Politely decline if your waiter offers as they may oversalt to your taste (I love salt, my wife does not.)

Overpriced for the quality of food, service, and ambiance. Poor quality shaved truffles were dry and flavorless on a dish of $65 mushroom risotto. The $80 16oz ribeye was cooked properly but over seasoned, thin cut and poor presentation though it was sliced for 2 to share. $18 salad was ample, but over dressed with “garlic” dressing despite lacking any garlic flavor. Server gave a glowing review of the ribeye, then backtracked when asked about the steak special twice the price. The food was good, but not at the level expected for these prices. Uncomfortably lengthy wait between salad and entrees, and a very loud environment made for a long night.

Ambience is great. Good size bar that keeps the place intimate. Dining area had good separation and you couldn’t hear other people’s conversation. Food was dynamite. we had the Black Onyx Ribeye, Sea Bass and pastas. Delicious. Wine was a great pairing. Dessert was more than excellent.

Our second visit to B&B. My NY strip was great. Cesar salad was delicious, I got a half serving, which was perfect as a starter. They could expand their specialty drinks to capitalize on their extensive spirits.
