Buona Forchetta started in 2011 as a craving of Matteo’s to bring some of his native Italy to our adopted home of South Park. We found the perfect corner and built the perfect oven. Since then, we’ve strived to deliver an exceptional and authentic Italian experience to our customers keeping our focus on the simple recipes that Matteo grew up on. We owe a huge “grazie” to our neighbors who have joined us on this awesome journey, and we hope that you will continue to be part of our story.

This easygoing Italian restaurant has five locations all over San Diego that specialize in Neapolitan-style pizzas and northern Italian staples. It’s loved by the area’s families for kid-friendly touches: Pasta dishes can be ordered in smaller portions, and the restaurant’s Liberty Station location has two play areas, plus a vintage red Fiat converted into a dining table.

Food and service were great. My only negative was I noted we were there for my son’s college graduation and I was hoping for a fun celebratory dessert. There were two other graduates there and they each got one. Definitely recommended though.

Always a great time here. The food is fantastic and the staff very helpful, patient and quick - we had a party of 8 - they really took care of us. The patio is generally boisterous and fun, but not too loud. Between the 8 of us, we got quite a few different things off the menu, from salads, apps and mains, plus one pizza. Everything was really good - as I expected. After we left, I realized it had been too long since we've eaten there. Will most certainly need to put it back into a more frequent rotation.

The GF crust is amazingly bouncy and light. The service was excellent. We came on a recommendation and it did not disappoint!

The food was wonderful. Proper Italian. Fresh and delicious. It was our anniversary and they bought us an amazing panna cotta treat complete with sparkler. We will be back
