The Belgian fries are always perfect! Great , friendly service. The bread is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It’s amazing when dipped in the garlic butter sauce served with the escargots. The beef bourguignon is consistently good. Love how it’s served piping hot in a Le Creuset pot. Small but good happy hour selection.

I love the food. I had a 6:30 reservation…first time I had to wait 20 minutes to be seated, though I could have been seated in a hidden back table by the bar…not suitable for dining.

Cannot recommend this place enough - everything on the menu is delicious (the fries especially, as a traditional Belgian dish) and the service is exemplary. There are a lot of great choices in San Clemente, but make sure to shortlist Brussels Bistro!

We sat at the bar and had a great experience. The bartender was friendly and attentive. The pork shank and green curry mussels were outstanding. Hubs and I traded off bald way and we both enjoyed the dishes. The fries are everything!

The mussels are fantastic. We enjoyed our visit to Brussels Bistro, Julian was an excellent waiter. We enjoyed our conversation with him. Definitely will visit when we are in town again.

I love the food here. It’s sooo good. The cream of mushroom soup is to die for and their cocktails are on point. Can’t wait to go back.

Our second visit which pretty much mirrored our first visit. The food and service were exceptional. I had the Boeuf Bourguignon and Janet had the Trout Almondine. I would recommend either dish, they both were perfect.

Another fabulous dining experience at Brussels Bistro. The mussels mariniere, trout almondine, and the frites were perfect. And our server, Abigail, was delightful.

We were really impressed with the variety of mussels. We loved the blue cheese and mustard choices, especially with the frites! We added some bacon from the mustard to our bread dipping into the blue cheese too! We sat at the bar and the bartender was not only attentive but caring. He was would happily return!

The food was delicious, the service was attentive. We were there for brunch. They do not have any plant based milks for coffee. Sad!

Another fabulous dining experience at Brussels Bistro. We celebrated my husband’s birthday here on the All You Can Eat Mussels night. He was in heaven. Our server, Abby, was excellent and lovely. This restaurant is a true gem in San Clemente.

Excellent lamb shank, exceptional salmon in leeks and coconut milk, fantastic shredded chicken and mushrooms in cream and beef bourginoun was over the top. Really attentive service. Food served hot. Love the music and lighting. Good value—please keep it that way and we’ll be back.

Always such a fun place. I am Belgian and loved coming here with visiting family from NY. Focus on the mussels and waffles which are made perfectly and in so many ways! :) and if celebrating a birthday or other achievement you will be greeted with Belgian tradition!!

Food was amazing. Such a creative menu. Totally different types of dishes than you normally see. Cocktails were extremely tasty too. Service was top notch. We went as a family but this would be a great date night spot too! All around A+ experience.

We love it here. The food is always delicious. I feel like they could work on the cocktails. The enchantress is just way too fragrant. I like a good well balanced vodka cocktail. The bread and butter always good the garlic shrimp delicious request the bread comes out with the shrimp so you can dip the bread in the garlic sauce. The Caesar salad is average would not order it again . The creamy chicken was delicious, so was the carbonara. My boyfriend loves the mushroom soup. Hoping one day they’ll have a French onion soup.

Wife had bad allergic reaction to lamb shank. Staff did not seem to care at all. Mussels were thin, flat and served in less quantity than in the past. In the past they were plump, fresh and of good size and quantity. With the chicken dish, and side of asparagus, all veggies were so hard we could not even put a fork into them. Unlike past visits, mussels did not even taste fresh. We have been going here for years. We doubt we will ever return.

The trout was delicious. Our waitress was chill and wonderful. My only suggestion would be to have slightly dimmer lighting. it’s hard to compete with the one in Laguna because it’s essentially an underground nightclub but this place is a close second.

I have wanted to eat at Brussels Bistro since I noticed the restaurant. It was my birthday and they had a Tuesday All You Can Eat Mussels and happy hour starting at 4pm. It was immediately delightful with an open space with music and window seating. Abbi, my server, was accommocating and friendly. I soon met one of the managers and we chatted about our past experiences in both of us having been born in Belgium. Though I was alone, I felt I was part of the family. It has a warm and inviting atmosphere. I would definitely plan to return when visiting San Clemente again. Bon appetit!

The last time I ate at Brussels Bistro was at least 5-7 years ago, in Laguna Beach. This was my first time at the San Clemente location. They have definitely upped their food game, in terms of menu variety, presentation and quality. It used to be just fancy bar food. However this means you get less quantity for the price, but that’s true everywhere nowadays. The Mussels Provençal is not to be missed! I’m looking forward to returning and trying the Trout Almondine. Service was very attentive, welcoming and friendly. The only problem is that dining there in the winter at night can be chilly, because the patio covering still allows cold air to creep in. So if it’s cold outside, sit further towards the back of the restaurant, avoid the tables in the covered patio area and wear a scarf & a warm jacket.
