We pay tribute to the rugged individualism of Pensacola’s unique historic cultural significance, specifically its Spanish influence. Real and super-rustic, the kitchen presents Old World cookery at its roots, with all the layers peeled back. Brother Fox utilizes a live-fire approach to cooking almost everything that we serve, from coal-roasted oysters to Carne Asada for two, served with hot tortillas. Our beautiful outdoor seating sets the stage for a casual meet up with friends for a glass of wine from regions near and far, carafes of Bathtub Gin or Sangrias from the bar. Inside, the cuisine and casually elegant design are the embodiment of a “neighborhood” spot that caters to visitors and residents alike, for special occasions, celebrations, and some of the finest wood-fired cuisine in Pensacola. Imagine food with soul, both exciting and traditional, in a breezy setting, right in the heart of Old East Hill.

After having dining on a regular basis 4/5 Star rated restaurants (District Steak/Seafood. JacksonSteakhouse, Grand Marlin, Drift, George Bistro and Fish House the atmosphere and food is better. There is a horrible parking issue, not adequate for the number of customers they are serving. I am an African American Female and disrespected by one of their customers. He blocked me in the parking lot so that I could not move my vehicle.-walking back to the restaurant and talking to people on outside patio. Then when he returned to his car he almost side swiped me. He had me blocked on the right so I could not go forward to leave the restaurant. I had to drive in reverse back into the entrance in oncoming traffic. Furthermore the seating area is overcrowded with to many tables close together with no privacy. The host didn’t read my comments which was not to seat me in high walking traffic; he placed me in the middle of the restaurant I had to be reseated. The waitress gave me a Dinner Menu so I asked for the Low Boil, then she said you can not order that because we serving Brunch? So I ordered the Shrimp and Grits, which $30.00 very overpriced. I could actually buy a Steak Dinner for 30.00. I will not return and mostly definitely not recommend anyone.

Very noisy and crowed. Water tasted/smelled of bleach. Both cocktails were Extremely short-poured... glasses were less that have filled with beverage. At $12 per cocktail, surly you can fill the glass. This was our first visit, so we ordered 4 different entrees to get a good sampling. Food was so-so at best and again Very stingy portions for the high prices. When I read some of the rave-reviews, I wonder if they are staff-generated or locals are just that starved for sit-down dining. We'll definately not return.

We wrapped up this quick trip to Pensacola with a first visit to Brother Fox. The restaurant had recently received national attention which is how I discovered it when I was looking for some new places to eat on this trip. They have a happy hour menu where you can get small versions of the tapas so you can try 3-4. We decided to do that. We got the patatas bravas, chorizo, and manchego.These are only small-tasting plates. For our main, we ordered the Prime Skirt Steak Asada. This is 2 pounds carne asada, wood-fired, with tortillas, grilled onion and piquillo peppers. It is definitely designed for two people. The meat was cooked well with a fantastic char. The tortillas were also wood-fired. The onions were sweet and the peppers were also well done. Our only critique was they gave us five tortillas instead of six (or maybe eight?). We decided to wrap up the meal with the churros. These are one of Teresa’s favorites and it is hard to find them authentically done. It didn’t hurt that my mouth was craving sugar after its encounter with the jalapeño. It was the perfect finish to a great meal. We were happy we had chosen Brother Fox for our wrap-up night in Pensacola.

Get away from hussle and bussle of Palafox St. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The food was exceptional. The menu has variety. This was our first time at Brother Fox and we will come back and bring more friends.

Food and service were too notch. We tried several different brunch items and indulged in bottomless mimosas. Everything was fresh, top quality, and thoughtfully prepared. Service was on point. I wish I could remember our server’s name because he made the experience even more enjoyable.

The food wasn’t that great. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t something I’ll go back for. They say tapas but clearly they are missing a chef trained in how to cook tapas. The burgers were ok but this shows it’s a US chef trying to be something they are not. Service was good Bree was a sweetheart and timely. Three people, two burgers, four tapas, one Coke and a glass of wine and the bill with tip came to $155. Too expensive really. Lower quality food served at a premium price.
