It took us a while to be acknowledged because there was no one up front and we made a special request that didn’t come to fruition, but other than that, the restaurant was beautiful, the staff was lovely, and the food was surprisingly good! I would go back

Seems to be a newer dining area. We were seated in the area between the main and patio areas. Our server seemed to be busy attending to other matters than focusing on our table. Very quick in and out checks. I ordered the el patron chicken. Veggies were lacking seasoning. Would have tasted much better if sautéed in butter sauce or similar. Could have loved more flavor out of the elote mash. My partner ordered the shrimp Alfredo and that dish was great. Overall above decent experience but could be great if the details were focused on.

Me and a group of five came here for prom! Outstanding food, service, and everyone was so kind! Truly an amazing experience so happy to have gone! Specifically Javier was very kind and set up the perfect table for us to enjoy our night!

Perfect spot to catch a meal before theater. Nice selection of small and large plates to share or keep for yourself. Food was very good and staff was attentive so we got out in plenty of time.

Juan was our server and was great. Very helpful and attentive. Nice place in the Westin Hotel. Quiet but well-attended. It’s close to other hotels in Gaslamp District and San Diego Civic Theatre. If you’re going to a show there, let the restaurant know, they give a 20% discount upon seeing your ticket. Lobster roll is good but not gigantic. Fries are great. Ravioli was good and tasty. Portions are not gigantic, but very good. If you want to get stuffed, order a starter.

Food was exceptional and unusual. Service and ambiance were superior. For a hotel restaurant prices were acceptable and value overall was high.

This was our second time to have dinner before seeing a show at the Civic theater. Food was great and our server did an outstanding job considering it looked light the restaurant was short staffed. Overall a wonderful dining experience. We’ll be back!

Food was good. Pizza was a nice size. I loved the burger! Service was a little slow/unattentive. It did seem there was only 1 server though.

Went there prior to going to the Balboa Theater. The food was very good, our server, Jessica, was wonderful, and the manager on duty, Rob, was also great. Another server, Javier, was also very helpful. Another big plus if you are going to the Balboa or Civic Theater for a show, you get valet parking for $10 for up to 5 hours, plus 20% off your tab if you order an entree. Currently, It’s about a 10 minute walk to the Balboa Theatre. Once Horton Plaza is open, it will be a 5 minute or less walk. This is a real bargain!! Parking in the lot next to the Balboa is $34. Finding the restaurant the first time was a bit challenging because it’s located inside of the Westin, and that’s where the entrance is. Outside is a door and awning with the name of the restaurant on it.

The food, service, and atmosphere were excellent with reasonable prices. No blasting music, etc. Definitely a "go back to soon" restaurant. The manager also mentioned weekday lunch specials that look very enticing.

Omg the best dinner we have had in a long time we come here for breakfast and get terrible service and no one stops by our table to check on us, Javier and his manager Bob did a great job they were both very tentative to us and went above and beyond. We will be back for dinner

It wasn’t very busy, but it took a long time to take our order, when one in our party ordered coffee the server said it would take a while because he had to brew a fresh pot and he was very busy. I received my beer right away, but my friend didn’t receive her soda, (which was not cold) until her meal had well started. The coffee arrived with half of a Splenda wrapping in it, so our friend couldn’t drink it. Two of us ordered the restaurant week three course meal, had to ask repeatedly for a check and the desert, our checks were also mixed up. We barely made it to the show on time. One good thing I can say, is that they comped our meal; the dessert was mediocre, the food was good. I would not go back.

The food was fabulous. Would have liked to see a little more feta cheese on the brussel sprouts, that's just nitpicking. They were pushing staff to get their breaks out of the way before the dinner rush started (we got there a bit after 4:00), so our waiter took our order, then had to leave. Other people delivered the food, then disappeared as well, leaving us pretty much unattended. Turned out to be a non-issue, but someone should have come by the table one time while we were eating. We WILL be back.

Friends and I have been looking for a new place to eat before going to the Civic Theater and I think we found one! The restaurant was a bit hectic with Restaurant Week and the pre-theater crowd but after a slow start, the service was excellent as was the food. We’ll be back!

The food was very good. I had the halibut special and my hubby had lollipop lamb chops and wine. The desserts were good, especially the chocolate lava cake. Service was ok. Manager was on top of it. Visited many tables to ensure guests were happy and very satisfied. Only suggestion: somewhere, including website, note you have to enter the restaurant from inside the Westin Hotel. There is a restaurant sign outside by a set of double doors (not an entrances; probably an emergency exit)…. Made it a little hard to find. However, we will return.

We came for restaurant week. The food was okay. The steak was good and better than the halibut. My halibut was overcooked. The dessert was disappointing to us, too sweet and we couldn’t taste any orange blossom in the panna cotta. We had soup as appetizer, also okay. Not bad but not great. The service was fantastic, very attentive. Bonus we were able to get 2 hrs of complimentary parking at the Westin hotel. It’s a great ambiance and conveniently located in the hotel. But I am unlikely to come back because I went solely to try the food which looks pretty but didn’t taste that great

We had our first visit to Bronze Bird and overall we were very pleased. This restaurant is located inside of the Westin Hotel in downtown San Diego. The server was quick and attentive when we told them that we were on a time crunch due to a show we were seeing at Civic Theater a few blocks away. If you’re a hotel guest or looking for a nice spot to eat before seeing a show nearby, I highly recommend it!

This use to be such a good brunch place. Good fresh food, great service. We drove down several times just for the restaurant. Now it’s just another boring hotel restaurant. Obligatory buffet, etc. disappointing

Everything we had was absolutely delicious. The only negative aspect was the lobster roll was very small. My husband said it tasted good, but it looked comically tiny on the plate compared to the side of fries... everyone at the table thought so. All other entrees, small plates, and drinks were fantastic (and appropriately sized).

We love Bronze Bird before our Broadway San Diego shows. Great value for fresh and delicious food. The menu has something for everyone without being overwhelming and I like the inventive twists on reliable standards. Definitely recommend the chips and guacamole and the baja lobster roll sandwich. Their signature cocktails are delicious and fun. The staff is very attentive. They validate for the valet parking and offer a discount if you are going to the show.

We went for the Valentine's special dinner with a reservation. It was quite busy at the restaurant but the food was delicious. The dessert to top it off was beautifully decorated for valentine's day and the taste was amazing. The drinks to pair with the food were well presented and tasteful. The experience, although a bit pricey was totally worth it and had the perfect romantic date vibes. Would definitely recommend.

Outstanding Service and Food !! Took my wife for Valentine’s Day - their special menu and drink pairings were worth the price. Extra brownie points for 20% discount for broadway show goers & $10 valet for 5hrs. Definitely recommend for a great date night!

Our server was outstanding! Very attentive. The food was very tasty, exceeded our expectations. Don’t leave without dessert, the red berry marscopone was amazing.

The service was terrible. We waited 10 minutes just to be brought a drink menu, then waited another 10 minutes for our drinks, then had to ask for our food so we could make it to the Civic Center show on time. Also they got my order wrong.

Great spot for a nice dinner. It's not your run if the mill hotel restaurant. We opted to try it since it's close to the theater and they have valet parking. The service was over and above with fantastic servers taking good care of us. The food was delicious and the ambience was nice. They have a full bar but it's partly separated which makes for a quieter dining experience. We may make this our new pre-theater spot for dining. It would be nice to sit in the bar and have a drink too but we didn't have time. It's only a three minute walk to the civic center and less than one minute to the Balboa theater. Highly recommend.

Husband and I went for the NYE $59 a person dinner. Our reservation was at 6pm. We were seated and waited 20 minutes for water to come to the table. 10 minutes after our waitress (one of four different staff who served us) took our order where I ordered the lobster bisque. I'm a HUGE bisque fan. This bisque reeked of seafood (not normal if the seafood is fresh or not previously frozen). It had a thin film of cooled cream on top, letting me know that the bisque was sitting at the pass for more than a few minutes before my husbands salad (* -*) was ready. It was not good to be honest. Then the main courses which were also disappointing. My husband ordered their wagyu prime roast and I the chilean sea bass. The wagyu was a sloppy serving of two slices slathered in its our juices and sauce, not seasoned well. The seabass was actually fine! a tiny bit under done but totally edible and the best part, but still a solid 6/10. The dessert was a cute "Happy New Year" message written in chocolate. It was a mousse coated piece of brownie. Totally fine.

Honestly was skeptical since it was inside a hotel, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Service especially on Christmas Day was amazing, the food was ALL tasty from the burger to the fries to the pizza, pasta, and tomato soup! 5/5 would come again.

Our server was very nice. The little appetizer was a suprise, but yummy and appreciated. The food was good all around. At first they were going to seat us in the ftont room which is next to the bar and super noisy. When I asked to be seated in yhe back room, they moved us. Back there it was quiet and peaceful. The staff were pleasant. We were able to get in and out in an hour so we weren't late for our show.

Lovely, light lunch with my spouse after a business meeting downtown. Had the fish tacos but opted for grilled fish and a salad. Service was also top notch. Highly recommend for a light bite.
