From the minds of Adolfo Garcia (Son of a Butcher, Pearl Tavern) and long-time restaurateur, Phil Stefani, comes Broken English Taco Pub. Located on the corner of Michigan Avenue and Lake Street, Broken English is steps away from Millennium Park, and in the center of the new vibrant hotel and residential area.

On the name, Garcia says, “I speak English with my friends, and I often find myself mixing in Spanish words because there are some phrases that simply don’t translate to English. This happens in many other languages and cultures, but that is what makes the name ‘Broken English’ fun – it is part of our daily slang.”

    Delicious food, great drinks, and attentive staff even though it did take some time for someone to get to us. That was the only issue but when we got our order in things came so fast I was pleasantly surprised and the quickness, efficiency, and quality. Will definitely be back soon

    Cute inside, but table spacing is a bit tight. Service was fantastic, and the food was very flavorful. I would definitely recommend.

    I love this place! We have come here twice. We love the tacos and the churros with the pomegranate ice cream at the BEST I’ve ever had. We got our food super fast, too!

    We enjoyed dinner very much. Service was extremely swift and we weren't waiting for anything. We shared a tray of tacos and enjoyed all of the options. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu! A great spot for a quick meal before or after. We had plenty of time to talk and could hear each other well. Never rushed.

    The Thursday taco deal is amazing and so is the frozen horchata. The elote was pretty good

    Speedy food. Walking distance to Chicago Theatre. Tasty cocktails (the Rosemary’s Baby with mezcal and torched rosemary was particularly smoky and fragrant and delicious). Great selection of tacos. Clever naming of menu items. Love this place.

    It felt like a fast food restaurant. We ordered drinks and the appetizer and food came together before the drinks all with in 10 minutes of seating down. Chairs were uncomfortable with tiny table that was uneven do one of us had to keep our foot on the table leg to keep it from rocking through our meal. Food was not very good drinks weren’t mixed well at all. Disappointed
